You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 14 Part 2

Hello Everyone,

I figured that putting our announcements at the start of the chapter would be more visible to our readers than making a separate post. (I'll be copying this same announcement to every chapter we release this week).

We've been seeing a large influx of readers, most likely because of the You're Beautiful When You Smile live action drama was released (called "Falling Into Your Smile" if you aren't aware).

And as such we've noticed an increase in comments about navigation. I understand that the blog format is not very conducive to reading a story unless you've kept up with it from the start. And I've gotten rather lazy updating our project pages (it's quite a tedious thing and the links seem to keep breaking for some reason).

Anyhow, I've recently just updated our You're Beautiful When You Smile project page with links to all the chapters: click here to go to the project page. This should make it easier for users.

Our project index page can be found here. It links to the individual novel project pages.

Another option is to go to novelupdates.com which automatically links our new chapters for all of our stories. The project page for Beautiful When You Smile is right here. This is what I personally do when reading fan translated novels.

Also to address a few things:

(1) for those requesting prev/next chapter buttons, I'm sorry but we have no intention of adding those as we have to add it manually and it's extremely tedious. Novel Updates already tracks our chapters.

(2) I realize that on mobile, the release schedule is not visible for some reason, but is visible on desktop (I guess it's just how Blogger decides on rendering widgets). Beautiful When You Smile comes out every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. You're My Belated Happiness releases on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I just want to remind our readers that we do this for fun and provide the fan translations for free. So I hope everyone can be patient with our schedule. We appreciate your understanding. Please enjoy the next part in the story below.

Thank you.

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 14 Part 2

[No wonder. “Poem Writer” already explained everything and apologized for it. But “Su Cheng”, the third party, is still slandering “Wenxiang”. So it’s all about some dispute in the real world.]
[The more I think about it, the more I feel frightened. Isn’t “Su Cheng” a bitch?]
[Which school was she from? Let’s get to the bottom of this!]
[Some keyboard warriors really like to stick their noses into other people’s affairs? They cyber bullied “Wenxiang” before and now they want to dox “Su Cheng.” It’s none of your business which school she went to!]

The development of the situation far exceeded Ruan Yu’s imagination. The more she read the comments, her eyebrows knitted closer and closer together.

Then she saw one post: [Don’t be fooled. From the long chart to doxing, can’t you tell there’s a professional PR team behind all these? There are people behind “Wenxiang”!]
Ruan Yu was surprised to see that and wanted to read the details in that post. But the post disappeared the moment she refreshed it.

She continued to read on. She saw another post: [The direction of public opinion changed so drastically. Doesn’t anyone feel that there’s something fishy about it?]
Ruan Yu quickly clicked on it to read it. But what she saw was “the comment has been removed.”

These unfriendly comments disappeared in seconds.
The first time could be a coincidence, but it didn’t make sense that it happened the second time.

Ruan Yu carefully sorted out how the whole thing had turned around in her favor. Though it was because of the attorney statement and the court notice, the situation that developed afterwards did look like it was a well organized operation.
The long chart from the famous blogger was fair, but later on the comments from many netizens seemed to have gone overboard.

If Ruan Yu wanted to use this kind of dishonest practice to attack Cen Sisi, why would she bother filing a lawsuit against her?
Who could be the mastermind behind all these behind Ruan Yu’s back?

Ruan Yu picked up her cell phone and planned to ask Liu Mao about this. She checked the time, it was “00:07”. She backed out the dialing screen and sent a WeChat message instead: [Mr. Liu, could you give me a call when it’s convenient to you.]

Ruan Yu yawned and went to sleep. When she was woken up by a ringing phone, it was the morning of the next day.
She picked up her cell phone in a daze and saw the call was from Liu Mao. She immediately woke up and answered the phone: “Mr. Liu, have you seen the Weibo posts?”
“I’ve seen them.”

Since she had just woken up, she was blunt and spoke what was on her mind: “Is this from the law firm?”
“Hrm?” Liu Mao seemed taken aback: “No, it’s not.”
“Then who can that be?”

Liu Mao sounded like he was baffled as well: “Not sure. Anyway, this kind of practice of giving someone his own medicine isn’t our way of solving problems.”

By “we”, he meant the lawyers.
Ruan Yu by now had recovered her ability to contemplate and realized that her own speculation was disrespectful to Liu Mao’s profession.

She apologized: “I’m sorry, I wasn’t fully awake. I was too blunt.”
“It’s alright. It’s quite understandable. You get some more rest first, I’ll go find out what’s going on.”

Ruan Yu, however, wasn’t able to return to her slumber.
Before she woke up to the call, she was having a nightmare. She dreamt that Cen Sisi was choking her.

It was undeniable that even though what happened on Weibo had nothing to do with her, she was the direct beneficiary of the course of events. Cen Sisi therefore would certainly think it was all of her doing and who knew what Cen Sisi would do to get even with her.

Ruan Yu worriedly scratched her hair. She logged onto Weibo and found that Cen Sisi’s homepage hadn’t been updated. It felt like the calm before a storm.
She got up to wash up, ate breakfast, did the laundry, but she did everything absent-mindedly. Before she hung up the laundry to dry, she took out her cell phone again and clicked open her WeChat chat with Xu Huaisong.

Her head throbbed. She was embarrassed to go back to ask Liu Mao since she had said something improper earlier. Now she felt she could only ask Xu Huaisong for his opinion.
From the relaxed manner Xu Huaisong handled the retaliation incident the other day, Ruan Yu felt that she could ask him to give her some advice.

She hesitated for a moment before sending out a message: [Mr. Xu, do you have time now?]
She waited for five minutes, but there was still no reply.
