Those Sweet Times
Chapter 85 Part 3

The matches on May 2nd went smoothly for Xiang Nuan’s team. That night, Lin Chuyan took a break streaming and the whole team gathered in the villa to do some extra training. To his surprise, several streamers from Pea TV sent messages to wish his team good luck. It looked like the news about them turning down the platform’s offer had already spread.

They trained well into the night and decided to stay in the villa for the night since there were a lot of rooms in the house.

Yang Yin didn’t go to sleep after their training. She stayed in her room studying over and over the stats she had on that professional team from the only three matches they had played so far. The junior team from Invincible didn’t use any fancy tactics and all the champions they picked were normal. When their opponents saw the line up, they could immediately figure out how to counter the professional team. But the professional team had a much stronger foundation in their basic skills and training, they wouldn’t be afraid if their opponents saw through their plans.

The tricky part was that it was difficult to find the weak point in their strategy.

Yang Yin kept reading and analyzing until two o’clock in the morning. She grew thirsty and went to the kitchen to pour herself a cup of water. She happened to glance outside the window and saw a man sitting next to the table in the garden.

The man had short hair and was wearing a white shirt. His right elbow rested on the table with a random angle. Right between his index and middle fingers there was a lit cigarette, a streak of smoke rose from the tip of the cigarette.

Yang Yin, with cup in hand, slightly raised her eyebrows; she didn’t expect to see such a good student smoking.

Xiang Nuan was excited and nervous at the same time. She was finally going to have a fight
against a professional team! Though it was just a junior team, it was nonetheless a professional team!

Yang Yin said: “It seems all five of them have good fighting spirit. Their support and top are the strongest amongst the group. Today’s match we have to pay special attention to one particular champion; we can’t let them have that champion, absolutely not.”

Xiang Nuan asked: “Is it Hua Mulan?”

“No, it’s Guan Yu. The Invincible A team has a player who’s the best Guan Yu in the major league. So their junior team must be very familiar with Guan Yu. They hadn’t used Guan Yu in the previous 6 matches. It’s very possible that they’re saving it for today to use in the final match and catch us off guard. Even if we don’t consider that fact, Guan Yu is a difficult champion to control to begin with and usually causes chaos on the map. An excellent Guan Yu paired with an excellent commander will usually bring disaster to the opponent on the battlefield.”

Xiang Nuan nodded as she listened, fighting the urge to find a notebook to take notes.

“Certainly, if we can get Hua Mulan, we still have to grab her.” Yang Yin added.

Later on, Yang Yin explained a few other things that they had to be careful with. Then they started their training before the final match.

The match officially started at 4 o'clock that afternoon.

It was during the holidays and the stream room was crowded, with over a millions of viewers. There were some famous streamers among the audience and people from the professional circle. The esports circle was a niche market and news spread quickly. Many heard the incident earlier and came to spectate.

Some outspoken streamers even started to imply Penguin TV on their social media posts, stirring up dispute from fans from different camps.

Manager Wang had actually had a prepared press release ready. Once Penguin TV’s professional team won the final match, it would be released by the marketing people. It would have sounded like the organizer was congratulating the team, but it was written to subtly suggest to people to think otherwise.

Though the Pea TV would lose the championship, it couldn’t be defeated for nothing.

  1. Aww could that have been SZ? Though I don't like third wheels, I similarly dislike seeing the supporting male lead so desolute and lonely.. Hopefully he can meet his fated pair at some point in the future O^O
