At first, Lin Chuyan thought the manager was calling him to reprimand them because Pea TV was unhappy about beating the platform’s most favorite streamer.

He soon found out that it was actually more complicated than he had thought after he had listened to the manager.

Pea TV was the host for the Leiting Cup which was open to all streamers from other platforms. It was originally held with the intent of entertaining the public since streaming was for fun in the first place. The platform didn’t take winning or losing too seriously. The first two tournaments had been held quite smoothly.

But, for this third tournament, they had met a team which was trying to wreck the event.

“Manager Wang, what do you mean that they’re trying to wreck the event?” Lin Chuyan was a little dubious: “Since all platforms are welcome, why can’t we let them take the championship?”

“We can accept it if it was just a streamer that won the championship, but we can’t accept a competing platform organizing a professional team to thrash the other teams. That’s a slap to our face dammit.” Manager Wang must’ve been really anxious to start swearing.

“Oh? How can you be sure that that’s a professional team?”

“Only a professional team could thrash our first rate streamers’ teams.”

“So, Manager Wang, you plan to expose them.”

“There are seldom viewers who truly understand the gap between a professional team and those of streamers in terms of their skill. If we don’t have any evidence, even if we expose them, not many people would believe it. They could even use the chance to reverse it on us and get some good PR out of it.”

“What you mean is that their purpose is to stir up some hype?”

“Right! A third class platform gets a professional team to play for them and comes to the Leitung Cup to validate their existence. Unknown players from a certain streaming platform stomping over Pea TV’s well known streamers, isn’t that a rather sensational headline? There might not have been that much of a difference between a professional player and a normal skilled player. But the gap between five professional players against five skilled players was the difference between heaven and earth. Last year, Pea TV had hosted an exhibition match with five of their first rate streamers against a certain professional team’s junior trainee team. In the end, the Pea TV team was badly beaten.

One of the players from the trainee team was told to go easy as much as possible on the Pea TV team so the streamers wouldn’t look too bad when they lost the match. The young player innocently nodded and then bought 6 pairs of shoes in the following match.

Each player’s inventory had 6 slots. He bought shoes in all 6 slots, turning his champion into a centipede. He didn’t even bother hiding his intention. The audience went crazy.

It was an unspoken mutual understanding that when streamers were having their own competition, professional teams shouldn't spoil the event.

It looked like someone was unfortunately not following the rules.

“Is this how a professional team plays?” Xiang Nuan was amazed by their performance. In the videos, the so-called ‘streamers’ from Dolphin TV worked together like a precision instrument. Their opponent didn’t have the ability to strike back. Even an idiot could tell the disparity between the teams.

Yang Yin lightly tapped the desk and said with her slight knit eyebrows: “It’s a professional team alright, but not a top notch one. It’s probably a junior team from a professional team.”

“This is only a junior team?”

“If it was the main one, it wouldn’t be a problem for them to win within eight minutes.”
