Xiang Nuan was pretty to begin with and now with the light makeup her facial features stood out even more, especially her eyes which now looked brighter and clearer. Lin Chuyan’s heart skipped a beat after looking at Xiang Nuan’s eyes.

Xiang Nuan felt uneasy under Lin Chuyan’s constant gaze. She lowered her head and fidgetly tugged the corner of her top.

Yue Yingying understood her son’s reaction and lowered her head to grin: “Go now, come back early, Xiang Nuan. I’ll take you somewhere good for dinner tonight.”

Lin Chuyan gathered his wandering mind and replied: “We’re going to eat with the other players.”

“Alright.”

Lin Chuyan and Xiang Nuan walked side by side to the door. Lin Chuyan suddenly said: “Wait for me for a while.” He turned around and ran upstairs after saying so.

Xiang Nuan didn’t know what he was up to.

After a short while, Lin Chuyan came back: “Let’s go.”

Lin Chuyan sat on the driver’s seat and turned his face sideways to look at Xiang Nuan in the passenger seat.

Xiang Nuan blushed under his gaze, turned her face away and said in a small voice: “What are you looking at.”

“You look good.” Lin Chuyan said in a low voice and chuckled afterwards.

The chuckle was quiet but delighted.

Xiang Nuan didn’t know how to continue the conversation and lowered her head without saying anything. But she had a warm feeling in her heart.

Suddenly, a box was stuffed into her hands. When Lin Chuyan pushed the box into her hands, the tip of his index finger, intentionally or not, touched Xiang Nuan’s hand and lingered for a bit before moving away.

Xiang Nuan took a look at the box; it was an elegant black box with silver letters on top of it. The letters were in Italian. Xiang Nuan didn’t know what it meant.

“What’s this?” She asked.

“Open it.”

She opened it.

There was a brooch inside the box. It was two cherries on a branch; the branch was made of bronze and looked quite realistic. The two cherries seemed to be made of exquisite dark red glass beads.

“It’s so pretty.” Xiang Nuan exclaimed.

Lin Chuyan said: “Put it on.”

“This is for me?”

He turned sideways to look at her with a smile in his eyes as if to say: “Who else?”

Xiang Nuan couldn’t look straight in his eyes…... She lowered her head to take the brooch out of the box and put it on her sweater. She checked it after she had put it on and was quite pleased with how it looked.

Xiang Nuan asked: “Why give me this all of a sudden?”

Lin Chuyan looked straight ahead and started the car while answering casually: “I wanted to give it to you a while ago.”
