Starlight Has No Past
Chapter 10 Part 3

Ye Qiao only had a minor part in <The Watcher> and would be the last one
to join the crew. Since it would be a while before she had to go to the filming
location, her agent accepted an invitation for a TV variety show.
It was the currently most popular reality show <Idol Challenge> which featured
the most popular actors and singers in the entertainment business. Even
Zheng Xishuo had attracted many more fans by going on this show. Ye Qiao
usually wouldn’t got onto any variety shows; besides, this show would never
invite a B or C-list actress like her.
Her assistant, Shen Ting, told her about it: “This one is a special edition about
special friends. The 5 permanent guests can each invite one special friend of
the opposite sex to go on the show and Young Master Zheng invited you.”
Ye Qiao: “And the producer agreed with him to randomly invite me?”
Shen Ting reluctantly said: “For Young Master Zheng…...the producer shouldn’t
have anything against it.”
In the whole entertainment circle, Zheng Xishuo probably was the only one who
had such power, with a strong network combined with excellent talent.
Shen Ting added: “Wei jie has already agreed on your behalf.”

Even the stubborn Ye Qiao couldn’t let him lose face.

Zheng Xishuo had never been this enthusiastic about work before. He arrived
one day early at the shooting location, Ye Qiao’s hometown, Yang City.
It was a city filled with an artistic atmosphere; avant-garde art districts and
museums were everywhere. The city was also the hometown of several famous
contemporary painters, including the most sought after painter, Xu Zang, by art
investors.
After getting off the airplane, Zheng Xishuo removed his sunglasses and took a
deep breath of smog as if he was breathing in the air at the banks of the Seine.

His assistant bowed to him: “Young Master Zheng, do you need a mask?”
Zheng Xishuo kicked him: “What do you know? The artistic atmosphere is just
this hazy.”

It wasn’t the artistic atmosphere, it was the smell of Ye Qiao.

He couldn’t wait to see her. He had made arrangements with Ye Qiao’s agent to
give her a surprise to have the show taped here in her hometown.
However, Ye Qiao wasn’t excited about the show at all. As she got off the airplane
and met his handsome and excited face, she showed no passion whatsoever and
made it clear to him: “I never do variety shows. There won’t be a next time.”

Zheng Xishuo felt she was just acting like a tsundere.

The next day was the official taping of the show. All the guests were gathered at
the gate to the largest arts district of Yang City. Fans crowded behind the cameras,
screaming out the names of their idols.
The loudest name was Zheng Xishuo, adding quite a lot of pressure on Ye Qiao
who was standing right next to him. She was born for the camera, yet she wasn’t
comfortable with a live audience. She was uneasy; Zheng Xishuo put his arm around
her shoulder and whispered: “Relax, the mission is based upon the popularity of
each person. I, for sure, will win!”
However, she wasn’t concerned about whether they could win during the game
section.

It was a familiar figure that caught her attention. Through the glass walls of a gallery
in the arts district, she could see him through the hazy sunlight.

Zhou Tingsheng had both his hands inside his pockets. The ironed custom made
dress pants were smooth and fitting, making his legs tall and straight like bamboo.
The white dress shirt was under a well tailored suit which was buttoned up with one
button.
He stood behind the glass wall and all the modern art works behind him weren’t as
picturesque
as him.

The sound of Liang Zirao’s high heels suddenly stopped and she asked: “Tingsheng,
why aren’t you moving?”
