The Most Majestic You
Chapter 41 Part 2

Qianxi threw herself into her schoolwork after new student orientation.
She hadn’t paid attention to the TI competition for several days. When
she finally checked the news, she found that KG, which had come out
first from the group stage and kept their momentum in the winner’s group,
had unexpectedly lost to Crystal after winning two rounds.

They say that Crystal had put Tundra up for sale during the last transfer
period.  Several big clubs were bidding for him aggressively, but at the end,
nothing had happened without any clear reason.  Tundra stayed put at
Crystal. Crystal shuffled around the players internally and recruited several
new generation players from R.Y.  They had organized a strong team this year.

If the newly organized Crystal team was still in the adjustment period last
competition season, then their lineup of top players finally showed at TI.
Their momentum seemed to be unstoppable.

Again, KG had lost to that disgusting ‘arithmetic question’…...Though the
loser in the winner’s group could come back from the loser’s group and not
be eliminated, Qianxi could imagine that Xu Jimo was definitely not in a
good mood.

Qianxi purposely bypassed the subject in their routine video chat in the
evening.  She specifically talked about some trivial topics, then suggested
in high spirits. “Let me read a poem for you, ok?”

“Uhm?”  His expression was the same as usual.  “What poem?”

Qianxi cleared her throat, then she read as softly as she could.

“Seven times have I despised my soul.

The first time when I saw her being meek that she might attain height.

The second time when I saw her limping before the crippled.

The third time when she was given to choose between the hard and the easy,
and she chose the easy.

The fourth time when she committed a wrong, and comforted herself that
others also commit wrong.

The fifth time when she forbore for weakness, and attributed her patience
to strength.

The sixth time when she despised the ugliness of a face, and knew not that
it was one of her own masks.

And the seventh time when she sang a song of praise, and deemed it a virtue.

------Kahlil Gibran <Sand and Foam>”

Her voice changed to a different tone immediately after she finished reading it.
“This is my most treasured chicken soup for the soul book! Do you feel more
inspired now?”

“......It’s indeed very inspirational.”

She was like an eggplant struck by frost and instantly withered.  “You don’t have
to say this kind of rhetoric words just to flatter me…...obviously you aren’t inspired
by it at all.”

Lying on the bed, the corners of Xu Jimo’s mouth curved into a slight smile.
“Yes, it does.”

“You don’t need to comfort me.  I can tell from your voice right way.  You’re still
very unhappy.”

He turned over all of a sudden and his eyes reflected the light on the wall.  It
was especially soft. “I’m unhappy because I miss you.”

…...Did she hear it wrong?

It was quite surprising that this man, who always said one thing and does
another, always keeps his cool in front of her, and always likes to leave others
in suspense, suddenly admitting so straightforwardly…...that he missed her.

“Why the sudden…...confession….uh…...I’m so not used to it!  Has your
account been stolen? Yeoboseyo? (Korean: hello?) Moshi moshi?  (Japanese:
hello?)” She moved her cell phone back and forth pretending the reception
was weak.

He waited quietly until her tirade was over.  Then he whispered, “Because if I
don’t tell you when I’m missing you, then I’ll probably despise my soul for an
eighth time.”

Woo……

Her dark eyeballs rolled in a big circle.  He didn’t know what sort of mischievous
idea she was thinking.  “I forgive you. You go to sleep right way. Good night!”

She still didn’t disconnect the video chat this night.

But when Xu Jimo woke up, he found somebody turning off the video chat on his
cell phone.

Qianxi jumped onto him the moment he opened his eyes.  Her white sweater with
dolman sleeves made her look like a little bat as she smothered him.  She started to
talk like in her dreams. “Did you know that I finished all my weekend reading
assignments last night?  I took the earliest train to get over here. Then I battled
with the front desk three hundred rounds before I got your room key.  So I could
finally be here now.”

Xu Jimo felt helpless.  “How long did you sleep last night?”

“I didn’t sleep…..”  She was too weak to speak.

He smiled bitterly.  “Couldn’t you sleep first before you come here?”

Qianxi was too sleepy to control her own physical body.  She was faltering and
raised one little fist like a goddess of victory in the protest.  She pretended to yell.
“Because somebody said he’s missing me. If a girlfriend can’t show up instantly
when somebody is missing her, then she isn’t different from a brined fish!”

She buried her entire face into the blanket.  Her body had already fallen asleep
while her soul was still awake enough to be ready to answer his next comment.

But Xu Jimo turned over and sat up unexpectedly, then stuffed her into the blanket
which was still warm from his body.

He looked at the dark circles around her eyes.  He wasn’t sure if he should be
angry or just laugh.  “Now I see you.” He went to wash up, then carefully tucked
her into the blanket.  “Go to sleep. Don’t open your eyes for even a minute.”

She was too tired to even open them anymore.  She stretched out both arms
and slowly flailed around randomly in the air.  “I’m so devoted. Isn’t there a
reward like a little red flower?”

“You’ll have it.”  He lightly put her hands back under the blanket.  “Wait for me
for three more days.”
