Starlight Has No Past
Chapter 16 Part 1

Ye Qiao flew back to G City from Yang City, where she found fans waiting
for her at the airport.
This was a relatively new phenomenon for her since it only happened after
her works had started to gain more and more attention. Shen Ting followed
instructions from their agency to arrange for Ye Qiao to leave the airport
through a VIP corridor. She was holding paperworks in her hands and with
great difficulty, slid the cell phone between her ear and shoulder back to her
palm. She told Ye Qiao: “Actually, you can go out there and greet yours fans.
Otherwise, some fans will say that you’re playing diva. Nowadays, idols and
stars have to be nice to their fans. The more they flatter their fans, the more
they earn a good name. Even people like Xu Yinshan, her fans all think she’s
a nice and gentle beauty.” Her voiced turning somewhat annoyed as she
mentioned Xu Yinshan.
Ye Qiao certainly understood all that, but she had a rather easy excuse:
“I have a heart condition, doctors forbid me to go to crowded places.”
Shen Ting couldn’t say anything more. Besides, Ye Qiao did have puffy
eyes, either from being too tired or in a bad mood.

Qianxi had volunteered to picked up Ye Qiao at the airport, probably at
Cheng Su’s behest. Ye Qiao put on black eye mask once she was in the
car and leaned on the back seat to catch up on some sleep. Qianxi and
Shen Ting gestured to each other. Shen Ting pointed at Ye Qiao then
shook her head, mouthing: “Seems----in----bad----mood.”
Though they thought they had moved quietly enough, Ye Qiao however
was still bothered by it. She took off the eye mask and asked Qianxi: “Do
you have anything today?”
Startled, Qianxi stammered: “Ah, I have the day off, going in for the night
shift……”
After seeing Ye Qiao’s cold stare, she realized that Ye Qiao was asking her
why she decided to come see her at the airport. Qianxi quickly changed her
answer, still stammering: “Ah, it’s just that I haven’t seen you for a few days,
I missed you.”
Ye Qiao responded: “If you don’t tell me the truth, I’ll kick you out.”
“Don’t be like that, cousin!” Qianxi pursed up her lips, used her fingers to
draw fake tear marks on her cheeks, and pathetically said: “It’s all Young
Master Zheng’s fault. He kept nagging and asked me whether you were
dating someone lately. I certainly said no…...Then he sent over a picture
that shocked me. It’s your neighbor!”
Ye Qiao: “Then?”

Qianxi whispered so Shen Ting and the driver couldn’t hear: “Then I scolded
him! But Young Master Zheng had someone to check your neighbor’s
background. He said that your neighbor is the second generation of a powerful
family. His father is in politics and has overseen the destruction of many drug
smuggling gangs, a hero and very famous! But because of this, he has a lot
of enemies……”
She took a breath: “His children are all doing business, living a very low key
lifestyle as if they are just starting from scratch. Young Master Zheng thinks
you’re too naive and probably don’t know his family background. He even
hinted that he thought you might have been…...you know, that……”

Ye Qiao put down the eye mask and carefully pondered Zheng Xishuo’s
reason for doing all this.
Last night, Zheng Xishuo must have seen her in the coffee shop when he
passed by the window. He probably in utter shock, but put a lot effort to not
explode right there in front of everyone. Then he tried to trick Qianxi to tell
him more details. He probably didn’t expect that Qianxi would tell everything
to her beloved cousin.

Ye Qiao grinned: “Just treat it as a joke.”

“I can’t!” Qianxi bit her lip and, as if she finally made up her mind, showed a
picture on her cell phone to Ye Qiao: “I wouldn’t have made this trip just
because of Young Master Zheng! I’m here because the more I look at your
neighbor’s picture the more I feel like he looks familiar. I just felt that something
wasn’t quite right. Then I dug up this picture in my phone! Tell me, doesn’t this
look like him?”
