You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 80 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 80 Part 2

The icy cold coke seemed to balance the burning heat on Tong Yao’s palm. She discovered that she couldn’t seem to put the glass of coke down-- --

Even though she knew very well that it wasn’t good for girls to drink cold drinks and that coke could make her fat.

She told herself that she shouldn’t drink coke, there was no benefit at all drinking it. Damn-- --despite constantly telling herself so, she had downed the remaining glass of coke into her mouth, ice cubes including. She crushed the ice cubes between her teeth.

[ZGDX, smiling: It’s not easy to turn down coke. I keep telling myself not to drink it, but my body wouldn’t let go.]

[Ah Mao’s mom: Falling in love is when you look around and everything surrounding you looks like his face. It was the power pole before, then a native Chinese dog, and now it’s a glass of coke.]

[ZGDX, Smiling: What did you see as Aijia’s face before?]

[Ah Mao’s mom: Stir-fried ong choy with fermented tofu.]

[ZGDX, Smiling: ……]

Tong Yao refused to continue the conversation with someone who was out of her mind.

……

Pretty soon, Tong Yao wasn’t in the mood to worry about whether he’s coke, or a power pole, or native Chinese dog to her.

Before going to bed that night, Xiao Rui announced that he had arranged a skirmish with a Korean team, OP, on Wednesday. The team was nicknamed ‘war god,’ a historically top team in the Korean region-- --

Each player on Team OP could play almost all the champions. It was impossible to do anything to hurt them during the ban & pick round-- --Just when you think you had picked a champion which could suppress the opponent’s picked champion, they would pick a different one, which you hadn’t thought about. And after careful checking, you’d find out the new champion could counter the champion you had picked in terms of skills and special abilities-- --In the meanwhile, the champion which you had tried to target in the first place had already been put to use in another position.

The switch would instantly change the team’s position from passive to aggressive.

-- --This was the trick Team OP constantly played, shocking yet amazing.

What Tong Yao was most concerned about was Team OP’s mid player-- --Jin Yuguang had played for the team for five years, from an intern all the way to the core player. He was the captain of the team, tall and a bit overweight. Some people nicknamed him ‘the mainstay of OP’s champion pool.’ Though he wasn’t the one who usually carried the game for the team, his presence in any game was reassuring to the team; even if the team was behind two matches, the team would eventually win the best of five.

-- --Their nickname ‘war god’ was mainly given because of him.

Xiao Rui had arranged two skirmishes with them; Tong Yao would play one and Lu Yue would play the other one. The arrangement was to prepare ZGDX for the world tournament. By facing strong teams from Korea, ZGDX had to become more flexible in order to move further up-- --Neither Tong Yao, nor Lu Yue had any objections. Lu Yue had proved himself with his performance to be a qualified player for the team after he replaced Tong Yao for the game she had been banned from.  Tong Yao wouldn’t dare relax on her own training since Lu Yue was right behind her……

Sleeping early like she first joined the team was already a thing of the past. It was quite normal for her to play ranked till 1 am-- --Usually when she came off the computer, her brain was blank, the only thing she could remember was positioning and farming.

After she had confirmed the training plan before she went to bed Sunday night, Tong Yao sat at her own seat the whole next day without moving much…...In order not to shame herself in front of her Korean counterpart on Wednesday, she wanted to make sure that even if she couldn’t kill the opponent, at least she could play on the same level as him.

She could make up her stream hours at the same time.

The latest version of the game wouldn’t allow players above Master level to play duo. So Tong Yao used Lu Yue’s id to play duos with Old K’s jungler. Lu Yue on the other hand used Tong Yao’s id to play solo.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 80 Part 1

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 80 Part 1

Tong Yao went over to the dinner table. Lu Sicheng in the meanwhile had started discussing today’s matches with the rest of the team. He spoke leisurely, with little emotion. If it wasn’t for the fact that he had a pleasant voice, the way he spoke about dry statistics was like a teacher talking about chemistry formulas on a summer day-- --

Who would pay attention to him talk unless you wanted to fall asleep.

…...But everyone seemed to listen with full attention.

Tong Yao ate her dinner feeling that she’d fallen into a strange pattern.

-- --It seemed that she couldn’t take her eyes off Lu Sicheng. She knew she shouldn’t, but couldn’t help herself…...Before she started playing professionally, the Lu Sicheng she saw was the one who would carry games, whose promotional picture was good enough for the entertainment industry, and who seldom talked during streams and would blast fans once in a while-- --

Until one day, she found herself sitting right next to him.

She had seen him, early in the morning, come down the stairs wearing underpants to go to the refrigerator to look for coke or yogurt drinks while scratching his bottom.

She had seen his hair as messy as a chicken coop.

She had seen him unshaven.

She had seen him with two dark circles around his eyes from staying up all night-- --

She had heard him snore on the couch from being too exhausted after studying too many competition videos and taking notes. Half of the notes on Tong Yao’s notebook were written with his messy and scribbly handwriting. During meetings, he would hold that notebook in hand and earnestly present some statistics. Though Tong Yao seriously doubted whether he could really read his own handwriting……

She had seen him trying to hide his cigarettes under the scrutinous eyes of Xiao Rui. Though he seldom touched cigarettes lately, he seemed to enjoy playing the game of doing something against the team rules……

She had seen him go crazy while playing ranked games. He would call the other four teammates idiots and then played all night until he dropped from Master to Diamond……

She had seen him in a hurry to go to the bathroom that he had to stand up with his bottom protruding as he hastily tried to finish the match. Then he would dash into the bathroom and shout from inside the bathroom: “Damn, who took the paper away.” He would rush out of the bathroom holding his pants……

-- --Even though he never presented himself with the aura of an idol in front of Tong Yao, she still found herself attracted to him…...If she even thought the way he held his pants as he was looking for toilet paper was cute, then she was in deep trouble.

Tong Yao: “......”

She stuffed the shrimp between her chopsticks into her mouth and chewed it without tasting anything. Tong Yao silently prayed that she would be smart enough not to let him lead her by the nose-- --

Her thoughts wandered until a glass of coke with ice cubes floating on top and beads of water falling down the side of the glass was set in front of her.

The ice cubes clashed together and the foam on top of the coke splashed out. Tong Yao was a little startled and looked up in confusion to meet a pair of dark brown eyes…...He looked quite calm: “You don’t want it?”

Tong Yao carefully thought about it. She recalled that after the game was over this afternoon, she was so hot while walking to the parking lot and mumbled something about wanting to drink coke, the one with ice cubes in it.

…...She was surprised that he had heard.

Tong Yao took the coke and sipped it. The sweetness of the coke together with the bubbles burst inside her mouth all the way down her throat. She then took a big gulp. She burped with satisfaction while putting down the glass: “Don’t think that one glass of coke is enough to forgive you for shutting me outside to feed the mosquitos for an hour.”

Lu Sicheng: “En.”

Tong Yao: “I’m very angry.”

Lu Sicheng pushed Tong Yao’s head down with his hand: “Just drink your coke.”

Tong Yao picked up the glass again.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 67 Part 2

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 67 Part 2

Xiang Nuan pulled on her mother’s arm and said: “Mom…...I don’t have competitions every day. I’m still a kid and need the support of you and dad.”

Ren Danyan harrumphed.

Xiang Nuan kissed her mother on the face.

Ren Danyan couldn’t pretend to be angry anymore: “You’re too old to play cute.”

“Mom, let’s eat sweet rice balls today?” Xiang Nuan suggested and remembered that Oblivion had sent her some rice balls. She was at Nanshan when the package arrived and her mother had signed for it. She asked: “I haven’t gotten a chance to taste those sweet rice balls my friend sent over earlier.”

“Oh, those. Dad and I tried them, they’re pretty good.”

“Yay, I want to eat them too.”

Her mother looked at her quite embarrassed. “We finished them all since they were so good.”

Xiang Nuan: “......” T ^ T

-- --

Xiang Nuan went to the mall to buy a bunch of things using her award money. She felt very good spending the money she earned herself. She bought an overcoat for the spring for her dad and a skirt for her mom. Then she thought about how nice Lin Chuyan’s mother had treated her and bought a silk scarf for Aunty Yue as well.

She then bought a variety of random things to eat, play, or use. She even put some money in Kings of Glory to get the champion Wu Zetian.

By the end of her shopping spree, she had only three hundred left from the original thirteen thousand.

Despite all this, Xiang Nuan constantly had the feeling that she’d overlooked something…...She then realized that she should get Lin Chuyan something in return for the brooch. She had to take out a little over a thousand from her own savings to buy a watch for Lin Chuyan.

She regretted spending money to get Wu Zetian….../ ( T o T ) / ~ ~

Xiang Nuan called Lin Chuyan on the phone.

She hadn’t heard his voice for two days and was a little jittery. But she calmed herself down and said: “Lin Chuyan, what’s your home address? I bought something for Aunty Yue. But I’m afraid that she won’t be home when the package is delivered to your house. What if I just write down your phone number? Oh, by the way, I also bought-- --”

“Xiang Nuan, I’m not at home now.”

“Oh, oh, then where are you now?”

“I’m in Juyuan.”

Juyuan was a city.

The city…...where Shen Zemu lived.

Xiang Nuan’s heart skipped a bit and a disagreeable thought flashed by in her head. It wasn’t because she had thought too much into the situation…...It was just that so many clues had indicated in a direction that she was afraid was true.

She was feeling a bit down.

“Lin Chuyan.” She called him in a small voice.

“En?”

Xiang Nuan swallowed and mustered enough courage to ask him: “It can’t be that you really like Shen Xuezhang?”

Lin Chuyan almost exploded when he heard Xiang Nuan’s question.

He tried hard to keep cool and calm down……

Xiang Nuan could hear Lin Chuyan’s breathing became heavier.

It sounded like he was angry.

Suddenly, Lin Chuyan said: “Don’t you know who I like?”

Xiang Nuan’s heart fluttered and she incoherently said: “I, I, I, I bought a watch for you.”

It became quiet on the other end of the phone.

After a while, Xiang Nuan heard Lin Chuyan speak in a low voice: “I’ll deal with you after I get back.”

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 79 Part 4

Tong Yao stuffed the take out boxes into Lu Sicheng’s hands and crouched down to squeeze through the open door. She jumped onto the couch and grabbed the sleeping cat into her arms, as if that was enough to declare that she wasn’t leaving no matter what…...Lu Sicheng didn’t bother with her but turned and put the food onto the table and called everyone out to eat.

Tong Yao watched helplessly.

After a short while, she felt her cell phone vibrating.

[fhdjwhdb2333: Admit you were wrong.]

Tong Yao looked over at Lu Sicheng at the dinner table. His body was slightly turned to the side with his legs crossed. He rested his head on one hand and used the other to hold his cell phone…...He was staring at his phone with a cold face, the light of the phone reflected on his pointed nose tip.

Little Fatty: “Cheng Ge, eat.”

Lu Sicheng didn’t even look up: “Not hungry.”

Little Fatty: “You just said you were hungry.”

Lu Sicheng still didn’t look up: “Now I’m past hungry.”

Little Fatty: “Who are you sending messages to? A woman?”

Lu Sicheng paused, then said en.

The bustling dinner table suddenly quieted down. Everyone looked at their captain with wide eyes. Lu Sicheng lifted his eyelids and scanned the table: “What are you all looking at? I can’t talk to a woman?”

Everyone shook their heads.

Tong Yao: “......”

[ZGDX, Smiling:............................................I admit it, admit it, admit it!]

[fhdjwhdb2333: What do you do if you encounter a similar situation in the future?]

[ZGDX, Smiling: I’ll turn and run away? Call the police? Call for help?]

[fhdjwhdb2333: Call who?]

[ZGDX, Smiling: …...But today the other players from the Qing Dynasty trapped you.]

[fhdjwhdb2333: Call who?]

[ZGDX, Smiling: Alright, alright, I know now.]

[fhdjwhdb2333: Call who?]

[ZGDX, Smiling: You.]

Tong Yao threw her cell phone down as if it was too hot to handle safely.

Yet she couldn’t help herself from checking the phone from time to time…...Until the phone lit up again from an incoming new message-- --

[fhdjwhdb2333: Come eat dinner.]

Tong Yao rubbed her ears, stood up, and looked over at the dinner table. Her captain had already put down his cell phone and was talking to the person next to him with chopsticks in hand…...He looked at ease, a faint smile at the corner of his lips; he looked like he was in a good mood.

-- --He was acting as if he hadn’t forced Tong Yao to say the words he wanted to hear on WeChat with an overbearing attitude.

Tong Yao thought he really wasn’t a nice person.

………………………………. He was absolutely the perfect example of a wolf in sheep skin.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 67 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 67 Part 1

Xiang Nuan was planning to order some alcoholic drinks with dinner to celebrate their win, but Yang Yin rejected the idea.

“The national competition is the day after tomorrow. I’ve arranged a whole day of training for you all tomorrow, 12 hours. The award money is fifty thousand for the national champion. For the sake of the money, you all can do without the drinks for now.”

The next two days, Xiang Nuan was too busy to think about personal relationships. The first day was intensive training. The second day, they drove together to Yuming City, 200 km away, to participate in the national competition.

The first two winners of each regional competition qualify for the national tournament. There were eight teams altogether. The rules were just like the regional one, a best of three match. The champion would be determined in one day.

Xiang Nuan’s team was well prepared.

To be exact, Yang Yin was well prepared.

Yang Yin had watched videos of each participating team in their respective regional competitions. She had jotted down notes as she watched, sometimes she even played the video in slow motion. She analyzed each team’s strength and weakness and sent her notes to each player on her team in advance.

When Xiang Nuan looked over the detailed analysis, she felt like her team would sure to win.

The other teams could certainly study their team’s videos, but the other teams didn’t have Yang Yin as their coach. That was the decisive difference between her team and the others.

Just as Xiang Nuan had expected, her team won every match with little difficulty. In the end, her team stood on the podium ready to receive the championship award.

The stream for the whole collegiate competition usually only showed video of the game, not the players. But since it was the final award ceremony, the champion team would certainly appear in front of the camera.

The award ceremony was a bit shabby; there was no audience and all the recording equipment looked like they had been bought from the second hand market. All and all it was just an amateur competition.

When the five players of the championship team showed their faces one after another on stream, it still created quite a stir.

Since it was an amateur event, not many people were paying attention to it. But when the champion team appeared, the bullet comments suddenly exploded, even the people monitoring the stream site noticed.

All of the bullet comments were exclaiming over how good looking the team was. It seemed unreasonable that a team that played this well would also have good looking players as well! In addition, they were from Nanshan University! There didn’t seem to be much room for someone to be better than them!

Some even came up with future plans for these five players. They sent emails to Pea TV asking Pea TV to consider signing these players to be streamers.

These people figured if the players became streamers, then they could see their god and goddess all the time!

At the time, Xiang Nuan’s team didn’t know that they had caused a sensation. After receiving the award, they happily left the arena and divvied the money up.

After dividing the money, Lin Chuyan took Xiang Nuan to the train station. Xiang Nuan had reserved a ticket in advance to go home. The next day was the Lantern Festival and she wanted to go lantern viewing with her parents.

-- --

The award money had been split 6 ways. There were eighty thousand in all and each person was gettin a little over thirteen thousand. All the money was transferred into each one’s bank account.

After receiving the money in her account, Xiang Nuan went to the bank and took it all out as cash. Then she went home and sat in the living room counting the money over and over.

Each time she finished counting, she would slap the stack of money on her palm and looked quite pleased with herself.

Ren Danyan couldn’t stand looking at her like that and asked her: “Haven’t you seen money before?”

“It’s different. I earned all this myself. You always say that I play games all the time without doing anything meaningful. But what is all this?” As she was talking, she slapped the money again. “I played for six days and earned thirteen thousand. That means I can earn sixty thousand a month.”

“Oh, that’s great, our Nuannuan is a grownup now. Then you can pay for your tuition and living expenses yourself from now on. Mom doesn’t have to take care of it anymore.”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 79 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 79 Part 3

Tong Yao opened Xu Tailun’s stream.

[Since Huawei beats ZGDX using the same strategy last time, so I wanted to try it too. Didn’t expect that it wouldn’t work this time.] Xu Tailun was sitting in front of the computer, resuming his gentle and easygoing persona. [Sorry, I lost the match.]

The bullet comments had responses like, “It’s alright,” “Try harder next time,” “Win the next match” trying to comfort him…...There were people asking him whether he was taking revenge on Tong Yao because of what she said on stream. To those questions, Xu Tailun’s reply was-- --

[Those rumors aren’t true anyway. I didn’t do anything bad with fans.] Xu Tailun said, [Actually, what Smiling said is true. If I didn’t do it, there’s nothing to be afraid of-- --My girlfriend and I love each other very much and it’s impossible for me to like anyone else. She was sad after hearing those rumors, I’ve been comforting her for a while now, but she’s alright now.]

Tong Yao: “......”

Tong Yao made a face like she was going to throw up onto the screen.

[The cat? It’s sick, but it’s nothing serious.] Xu Tailun said while looking at the bullet comments, [What do you mean a week cat?[1] Oh, I see. No, it’s not like that. It just has a cold, a common cold-- --I’ve already asked a friend to take it to the vet.]

Tong Yao remembered the little kitty struggling inside Xu Tailun’s date’s bag and became expressionless.

[Yeah, I’ve been having bad luck lately-- --many bad things have happened. We lost the second match as well. I wasn’t going to go to mid at first, but my teammate at mid signaled me to go and I thought maybe I could succeed. But who knew…...Ahh, it certainly isn’t my teammate’s fault. I’m just very sad now! No need to comfort me, it’s just that I didn’t do well…...Give me a gift? You don’t need to give me gifts. I didn’t play well today. I’m not worthy of receiving gifts.]

As he was speaking, the bullet comments were covered with crying faces or sympathetic words-- --What surprised Tong Yao the most was that after saying he didn’t deserve any gifts, Xu Tailun clicked open the official website of Givenchy and started checking their newest T-shirts……

Tong Yao couldn’t believe Xu Tailun’s behavior.

Yet, she found it rather interesting to watch his stream-- --

She sat on a stone stool in the yard outside the base, with one hand supporting her chin, watching Xu Tailun acting on stream for over one and a half hours with great interest. She didn’t put down her cell phone until she heard the ringing of the delivery man’s motorcycle.  Tong Yao stretched her neck to take a look-- --

Tong Yao stood up to walk out of the yard and stopped the delivery man before he entered the yard. The delivery man knew Tong Yao and handed the food to her without any suspicion: “Mosquitoes are everywhere in this heat, why are you out here all by yourself?”

“Enjoying the cool air.”

Tong Yao took all the boxes and replied nonchalantly.

After the delivery man left, Tong Yao carried everyone’s dinner to the door and yelled: “Hello, you guys have two choices. Either you let me in or I’ll die from mosquito bites and you’ll die from hunger. Make your choice!”

One minute later, the door opened.

Tong Yao lifted up all the boxes in her hand with a big smile and said to the man who stood at the ajar door with a stone face: “Mr. Lu, your dinner?”

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 79 Part 2

“How did you reply to him?” Lu Sicheng asked.

“I said I can say whatever I want, it’s my mouth.” Tong Yao answered.

“En. Nothing wrong with that.”

Lu Sicheng glanced at Tong Yao and recalled that Qing Dynasty’s players dropped by during the break to ask random things looking rather uneasy about it…… He squinted his eyes. Anyone could tell by looking at him that he wasn’t happy. “Then what happened?”

“He asked me if he threw the game, I’d keep my mouth shut.”

Lu Sicheng sneered.

“We could win the match with our own ability, why do I want others to throw it? So I said no, then I bit him, and ran away.”

Lu Sicheng’s sneer suddenly frozened.

The corner of his lips quickly curved downwards. With an uncertain expression on his face, he asked in a quiet voice: “What?”

-- --Somehow the voice didn’t sound right to Tong Yao’s ears.

Tong Yao swallowed and mumbled: “I ran away.”

“Before that.”

“I said no.”

“After that.”

“......I bit him.” Tong Yao said, then hurriedly explained: “Didn’t you say that I can’t hit people? So I bit him. It’s alright to bite him, right? He won’t get killed by one bite.”

Lu Sicheng, ignoring her explanation, asked her to clarify: “The bandage on Xu Tailun’s hand at the second match was from your bite?”

“Right-- --Ouch!”

With a light crisp sound, Tong Yao covered her forehead with her hand and backed away a few steps. Tong Yao looked at Lu Sicheng in confusion as he coldly said: “Stay outside.” He opened the door, walked in the base, and slapped the door shut-- --Tong Yao put her ear to the door and heard Lu Sicheng announce: “No one can open the door for her.” She lifted her ear from the door and stared at the door in disbelief, then put her ear on the door again: It was indeed very quiet inside.

So Lu Sicheng really meant it?

It can’t be?

Tong Yao walked over to the window and tried to peek inside through the window-- --She saw Little Fatty sitting right next to the window. She knocked on the window as if she had seen a life saver. Little Fatty turned to take a look at her, then stretched his mouth open to give her a silly smile.

Open the door for me-- --Tong Yao mouthed.

Little Fatty kept smiling at her in a silly way, then pointed at Lu Sicheng who was standing not too far from Little Fatty with his back facing the window. Little Fatty shook his head.

Tong Yao: “......”

She could see her teammates walking around the base and her cat lying on someone’s lap. The air conditioning unit out in the yard was rumbling and blowing out hot air. It seemed that no one in the whole base had noticed the desperate Tong Yao outside the window……

In the end, she had no other choice but to sit in the yard, battling the mosquitoes. With nothing better to do, she took out her phone and started watching some streams-- --

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 79 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 79 Part 1

Someone kicked the back of Tong Yao’s seat on the bus shaking her whole body. She raised her head and asked the man sitting behind: “What are you doing?”

“How could you describe the encouragement from a captain to a new member of the team as sweet talk?”

“I thought you didn’t go on Weibo much?”

“So that’s the reason why you have the gall to write something so blatant on Weibo?”

“............................What do you mean gall. That Weibo post wasn’t meant for you.”

“Oh, then who are you referring to?”

“......Captain, it’s no fun getting to the bottom of it. The one who always wants to get to the bottom of everything usually has the lowest EQ. Really.”

Tong Yao held her cell phone in hand and started to mumble: “It’s so cold. Why turn the air conditioning so low.”-- --As she was murmuring, she put her jacket over her and lifted the hood up to cover her face. She was trying to tell Lu Sicheng that she didn’t want to continue with the conversation, because it was too cold inside the bus.

She could hear the noise of Lu Sicheng checking Weibo behind her. Tong Yao shivered under her jacket. She didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until the noise behind her stopped. She looked at Weibo on her own cell phone and found that the comments under her post were all @Lu Sicheng. The corner of her eye twitched and she scolded in a low voice: You guys know everything, alright! You’re all supernatural beings!

Tong Yao hid under the jacket to check Weibo for a little while longer. Ten minutes later, she closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep…...It was about 7 o’clock in the evening when they arrived back at base. Since they had won the first game against the other group quite effortlessly this afternoon, everyone was in a good mood. They scattered onto the couch and discussed what to order for dinner. Today Old K was buying since he was MVP for the first match.

Old K: “Smiling also was MVP today.”

“Smiling has been deducted two months’ wages as well.” Tong Yao didn’t even lift her head as she sat on the couch: “Please, brothers. I got MVP just because they wanted to gossip what was going on between me and Xu Tailun-- --”

She didn’t finish what she was planning to say.

It was because even Tong Yao herself had sensed there was something wrong with what she had just said. She lowered her head to check the couch under her, then suddenly looked up at Lu Sicheng who was sitting right across from her…...Lu Sicheng had raised his eyebrows and was looking at her peacefully. Then he lifted his hand and used his thumb to point at the front door behind him, as if to say: Now you remember? Go out on your own, don’t let me do it.

Tong Yao: “......”

Tong Yao obediently stood up.

Everyone else except Lu Sicheng: “?”

Lu Sicheng also stood up: “Time for education about character.”

Everyone else except Lu Sicheng: “......”

Everyone looking at Tong Yao instantly switched from confusion to sympathy. They watched her and Lu Sicheng walk out of the base one after another…...Lu Sicheng closed the door and leaned against the door, so no one could open the door. Then he lifted his eyelids to glance over Tong Yao: “Let’s have it. Think before you open your mouth.”

Tong Yao thought about it and it seemed what had happened wasn’t that much a big deal to her now. She was nervous only because of Lu Sicheng’s serious attitude.

After a short pause, she honestly replied: “During the break between the matches, I ran into Xu Tailun outside the restroom. He asked me why I didn’t whitewash the movie theatre thing for him during my stream and even said some vague things to stir up some trouble for him.”

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 66 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 66 Part 3

Not only was Xiang Nuan a far cry from a weak player, she had a good understanding of all warrior type champions. She could play Laofuzi with skill and when in danger, swiftly flee.

She wasn’t the weakest link of her team, rather she was the toughest rock of her team. Team Rubik’s Cube tried their best to target Xian Nuan but to little benefit. Soon they lost their momentum and eventually lost the match.

Team Rubik’s Cube learned their lesson for the second match. They gave Xiang Nuan the highest compliment -- --they banned Laofuzi first.

Xiang Nuan chose Yang Jian as her champion based on Yang Yin’s advice.

Xiang Nuan didn’t know what had happened to her but she played her champions so smoothly today. Even her teammates had noticed and deliberately let her farm more. Xiang Nuan’s Yang Jian was the most developed champion among her team. Yang Jian has a pet, a noble dog. He could order his dog to bite an enemy. Whoever was bitten by the dog, Yang Jian gained a speed boost to chase after the marked target. This ability had a long range and was useful for chasing after the enemy, cutting in behind the enemy line, and very useful for running away-- --The dog could bite a minion or monster, then Yang Jian would dash off. It was difficult for the enemy to catch up with him.

During the match, the dog never missed. The enemy’s rhythm was in shambles. For any team, if it was difficult for their mage or marksman to develop, then the team basically had at least an 80% chance of losing.

Team Rubik’s Cube lost the second match.

After the game, both teams walked over to shake hands. The player of Rubik’s Cube said to Xiang Nuan: “Do girls nowadays all play this well?”

Xiang Nuan was a little irritated: “Is gender that important?”

After saying that, she suddenly felt a hand on top of her head. The hand rubbed her hair and patted her head.

Lin Chuyan: “You played well.” He retracted his hand after saying so.

Xiang Nuan: “Don’t mess up my hairdo.”

Lin Chuyan curved up his mouth.

Waiwai looked at them and then turned to look at Shen Zemu. Then he gave out a long sigh and patted Shen Zemu’s shoulder, he didn’t have anything to say.

-- --

The next opponent for Xiang Nuan’s team in the final match was Team Poetry and Distance.

There was a one hour break between the semi final and final games. Yang Yin gathered her players to their assigned room. They briefly reviewed videos of the previous two games Team Poetry and Distance had played.

The conclusion after they finished watching the videos was that this team used very few champions during their matches.

In other words, they had a very shallow champion pool.

This team made their way to the finals simply because their opponents didn’t have the chance or time to study them and come up with a proper strategy.

But now Xiang Nuan’s team could do that.

It was even easier for Xiang Nuan’s team in the finals than the semi finals. They only had to ban or pick all of the other team’s favorite champions or come up with a lineup that would counter the enemy’s champions…...There wasn’t a need for a complicated strategy to counter a team with a shallow champion pool.

They easily won the provincial championship. Waiwai came out of the arena and was the first one to cheer: “We got the 20,000 award money! 4,000 for each! I’ll pretend I’ve gotten a scholarship!”

Xiang Nuan reminded him: “Don’t get overexcited. Don’t forget our coach! You plan to let our coach work for nothing?”

“Just give me a small share and it’ll be fine.”  Yang Yin was just as excited. She turned her head and noticed that Shen Zemu was looking at everyone with some warmth in his eyes. Yang Yin said to him: “You played well.”

Shen Zemu still responded with an “en” without much emotion.

The six friends went looking for a place to eat dinner. Yang Yin noticed that Lin Chuyan was driving a Mercedes Benz today and enviously asked Lin Chuyan whether he would let her drive it.

The request was what Lin Chuyan had wished for. He could then sit right next to Xiang Nuan.

Xiang Nuan was especially excited about winning the game and kept talking to Waiwai and the others. They reminisced about the good plays and sang praises to each other…...It was bustling with noise inside the car.

Lin Chuyan wasn’t bothered by it at all. He sat quietly next to Xiang Nuan and looked down at his cell phone. He was sending a message to Chen Yinghu.

Lin Chuyan: I plan to confess to her. As someone who has more experience, do you have any good suggestions for me?

Chen Yinghu: Brother, we broke up!

Lin Chuyan: …...

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 78 Part 4

Tong Yao bit her lips slightly and frowned, unsure whether her words were too revealing or would cause trouble down the road. She wanted to say more-- --Lu Sicheng straightened up his body and strode towards the interview area with two backpacks in hand-- --

His movement caused a stir among the fans. Tong Yao was confused.

“What are you doing here?” She whispered to the man standing behind her like a door god.

“Give me the mic.”

Lu Sicheng pulled the mic from Tong Yao’s hand as he spoke. At the same time, he glanced over the reporters down below. Though it was just a glance, many reporters stopped writing and looked up at him-- --

“Today, Smiling’s only answering questions that you reporters have brought. I sincerely hope that everyone here will report her answers truthfully. After she walks out of here, I don’t want to discover that her words have been completely distorted-- --I understand the media needs to play tricks with the headlines to catch the reader’s attention, but for this matter, however, is regarding a player’s reputation. I hope all of you will be very careful about how you write and what you write.”

Lu Sicheng’s voice was calm.

The looks in his eyes and the expression on his face all showed that he wasn’t joking about the matter.

……

On the way to the parking lot, Tong Yao remained very quiet

She got on the bus and found a seat to hide herself. The seat next to her was soon occupied by her tall captain. Tong Yao looked up and met a pair of dark brown pupils-- --

Lu Sicheng: “You have anything to say to me?”

Tong Yao shook her head.

Lu Sicheng didn’t walk away.

Tong Yao nodded this time.

“I want to know whether I’ve made a mistake again.” Tong Yao said: “I made an ambiguous statement to let the reporters make up their own stories and maybe stir up some gossip about Xu Tailun…...I could have kept quiet actually and not say anything-- --”

“......” Lu Sicheng paused: “Why did you think about it that way?”

“......”

“Remember that I told you before that in this business, sometimes you can’t do as you want and you have to learn to back away. But no one is asking you to smooth the edges and corners of your character.”

“?”

“With your impressive IQ, do you need me to say it straight?”

“......Yes.”

“It’s not like you were the one cheating the fans, why do you have to apologize?” Lu Sicheng sarcastically ridiculed: “You even put it quite well, if he didn’t do anything wrong then no one could stir up anything.”

“............................Oh.”

“Don’t know what you’re worrying about.”

“Haven’t I been madly taking revenge just now!”

“What’s the use? Didn’t they lose the game anyway? As for you, wasn’t it nice to win this time as if you were taking a vacation?”

“You won’t say so when bot’s being cleaned out.”

“It’s hard to say.”

“What?”

“Maybe more than anyone else, I’m looking forward to the day when you’ll carry me, a middle aged player, and win a game?”

“.....................................”

Tong Yao used five seconds to understand what Lu Sicheng meant. At the sixth second, she said: “You’re flirting again.” Then she lowered her head with a red face. Lu Sicheng stood up to sit in the row behind her. Tong Yao turned on her cell phone and posted on Weibo-- --

[Smiling: Be cautious with sweet talk. The ones who come to wish you a happy new year on their own are all weasels.][1]

One second later, someone replied-- --

[Long live in my mind: Lu Sicheng, someone is bad mouthing you.]

[1]: There’s a Chinese saying: 黄鼠狼给鸡拜年. Which roughly translates to “A weasel making a New Year’s visit to a chicken.” Meaning that when someone suddenly starts acting nice, they probably have ill intentions.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 66 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 66 Part 2

When Xiang Nuan’s team walked into the room, Yang Yin suddenly called Shen Zemu before he went inside.

“What’s wrong?” Shen Zemu asked.

Yang Yin put her arms around herself and tried to find the proper way to express herself. She was used to listening to pep talks when she was a professional player, now it was her turn to give the pep talk. She hadn’t been a coach for long and lost her coaching job soon after she changed professions because she’d struck her boss. So strictly speaking, this was the first time she was actually coaching.

She tried her best to speak softly, “I don’t care whatever is going on between you guys. Play a good game first, alright?”

Shen Zemu didn’t like how Yang Yin was speaking to him as if he was a kid. He looked down at her and lightly answered “en” before turning around and going into the room.

Yang Yin touched the back of her head. It was much tougher being a coach than a player……

The room was spacious, with three walls and French window on the fourth side. There were desks, chairs, cell phones, and sound proof earphones for playing the match. If it was a more important competition, there would’ve been equipment for streaming as well. But since this wasn’t a particularly important game, the organizer had skipped all those things to save money.

The other team didn’t have a coach. In comparison, Xiang Nuan believed that her team was much stronger, like the regular army against a peasant uprising in ancient times.

The result of the match was as she had expected. Team Teach Po was defeated in no time.

“They made too many mistakes.” Xiang Nuan said after the first match.

Waiwai: “Why do I feel…...like the other side was trying too hard to show off……”

After hearing him, all four male players in her team turned to look at her. Their expressions showed that they understood now what had happened to the other team.

Xiang Nuan touched her nose: “That’s a little ridiculous, ha……”

To think that the players of the opposing team played so miserably just because they wanted to attract her attention would be a bit too narcissistic Xiang Naun thought to herself.

But what if it was true? Xiang Nuan felt uneasy by the thought. It felt like Xiang Nuan’s team deliberately used her beauty to bewilder the enemy, as if they had won the match unfairly. Before the start of the second match, Xiang Nuan purposely typed on public chat: Go for it!

The other team even replied.

Xiao Po: Thanks, girl. If we win this match, can I have your WeChat?

Chu god: No.

Xiao Po: Then can I if we lose?

Nuan god: ……

Xiang Nuan couldn’t believe this was how the other team was playing the match. How could anyone ask for someone’s WeChat while playing a match?

There didn’t seem to be any need to encourage such a team.

Team Teacher Po didn’t seem to have any fighting spirit for the second match, probably because they had played such a bad game in the first match. They dragged the game on for a little before being defeated.

Xiang Nuan’s team moved up.

“This is too easy.” Xiang Nuan couldn’t stop herself from complaining.

“We can’t relax for the next round.” Waiwai said, “Xiang Nuan’s beauty may not work every time.”

“Thank you, now please keep your mouth shut……”

-- --

Their opponent for the semi-final was Team Rubik’s Cube. The players on Team Rubik’s Cube seemed surprised to see a girl in the opposing team. When they shook hands before the match, they asked for Xiang Nuan’s gaming ID.

Waiwai answered for Xiang Nuan: “Her id is Nuan god. Be nice to her, ha.”

Team Rubik’s Cube wasn’t nice to her at all, they actually targeted her, believing she was the weakest link.

They probably thought a pretty girl couldn’t be that great of a player. If she was the weakest, then picking on her would be the best.

The problem with that plan was that Xiang Nuan was far from weak……

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 78 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 78 Part 3

After the first team fight, Qing Dynasty, facing three well developed enemy lanes, had realized that their rhythm for the match was even worse than the first one. They were already defeated psychologically at that point.

As Qing Dynasty lost the will to fight, ZGDX continued the match like rolling a snowball. They pushed the turret at mid, then the turret at bot. Their ADC and support were free to invade the jungle, then went up top-- --

Very quickly, the match tilted more and more in favor of ZGDX……

The second match finished soon after the 30 minute mark.

Fifty seconds before the end of the match as ZGDX was pushing the enemy base, Tong Yao saw in the chat: [dqwl, back out of the game].

When Tong Yao took off her earphones after the match, she could still hear the commotion from the audience, discussing whether Xu Tailun had backed out of the game early or because he had simply lost internet connection.

Tong Yao was the MVP of the second match.

This was followed by a wave of laughter from the audience when the MVP was announced on the big screen-- --Everyone agreed that the best performing player for the second match was actually Lu Sicheng. The reason for giving Tong Yao the honor was probably because everyone had a lot of questions to ask her about the game.

Tong Yao passed her own backpack to Little Fatty and went to the interview area. She saw not only a mass of fans but also media reporters waiting for her. The host passed the microphone to her.

The host made the initial introduction as usual and Tong Yao greeted everyone as usual.

Then the host brought up what they really wanted to know-- --

The host: [Are you angry at being treated in such a senseless way in today’s matches?]

Tong Yao: “I was in the beginning, but I got over it later on. We won, as long as we won then it’s alright. It doesn’t matter who’s the carry for the game. A strong team should have everyone taking turns at being the carry. It’s quite nice that every match there's a player in a different position to be the carry.”

The host: [Do you have anything you want to say about today’s game?]

Tong Yao: “......”

Sure. She had a lot she wanted to say.

A lot of curses like “you suck” and “damn you” that she wanted to say, but she didn’t know whether she should……

Tong Yao looked at the host, the sincere look on the host’s face reminded her that the host probably wouldn’t accept a curse as an answer. Tong Yao had no other choice but to give a cute smile and said: “Cheng Ge’s Ashe is very powerful, remember to ban it in the future.”

The audience burst into laughter. Lu Sicheng was holding the backpack with ‘smiling’ on it not too far away while bent over at their mid’s seat picking up all the equipment. He raised his head in surprise to glance over at the interview area.

Obviously, Lu Sicheng didn’t expect her to give an answer like that. But no one else saw anything wrong with the answer-- --Everyone knew that the mid of ZGDX was famous for “Chessman bragging.”

The host: [Smiling, do you feel it’s effective for your opponent to use such an extreme strategy against you? It was effective once before?]

Tong Yao grinned and said in a confident tone of voice: “I don’t think it’s effective to focus on me when the opposing team isn’t equal or superior than our team in the other two lanes. My teammates aren’t to be messed with-- --ZGDX is a team with three core players, each lane has the confidence to take over the game.”

The host: [Do you agree with the other team’s attitude during today’s match?]

Tong Yao: “All of your questions today are really scary.”

The host: [Hahahahahahahahah!]

Tong Yao: “I know what he’s thinking. But I think that when you’re the core player on a team, he has to act responsibly during a match to his teammates as well as his own team. That’s the most basic attitude.”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 78 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 78 Part 2

Lu Sicheng asked in a deep voice: “What happened to you?”

Tong Yao blinked: “......What do you mean?”

“Go look in a mirror. You’ll see a face that’s white as a ghost.”

“......” Tong Yao pulled her arm from Lu Sicheng’s hand and said: “I’m fine.”

All the players moved to their seats, readying for the next match. Xu Tailun’s hand was wrapped in bandages-- --The white gauze around his hand was rather conspicuous. Tong Yao could clearly hear the commotion among the Qing Dynasty fans, to be more exact, Xu Tailun’s fans. The commentators were also discussing how Long Ge could hurt himself during a ten minute break……

Xu Tailun, moving slowly, was the last one from his team to take his seat. As if he had sensed an unfriendly gaze, he slightly turned his head to the side and met the eyes of ZGDX’s expressionless mid. He smiled at her.

Tong Yao rolled her eyes and turned her head away in disgust

When she turned her head, she met another expressionless face right next to her.

Lu Sicheng: “Nothing’s going on? Why are you looking at their jungler?”

Tong Yao: “......”

“Play the match first. Explain after we go back. Don’t enter the base if you can’t give a clear explanation.” Lu Sicheng put on his headphones as he spoke.

Tong Yao: “...............................”

According to Lu Sicheng’s arrangement, ZGDX would play 4 protect 1 for the second match. All four players would take more defensive champions to make sure that their ADC could survive as long as possible during team fights and deliver all the damage-- --This kind of strategy emphasized on the coordination and trust between each teammate. The personal skill of the ADC as well as his ability to perform under pressure were also crucial to the success of this strategy. Afterall, win or loss all depended on him.

It was a popular strategy in the past. But the current meta-game had moved away from this strategy. In recent years, few professional teams could be seen relying on it.

Half way through the ban & pick phase for Tong Yao’s team, the commentators had already figured out the signs-- --

Commentator A: [Smiling chose Lulu, Maokai for Old Cat, Old K’s going to choose-- --Nidalee! Wow, it looks like ZGDX is really going to play 4 protect one this match.]

Commentator B: [But is it a good idea for the current meta?]

Commentator A: [It’s the players who play the game, not the strategy-- --To be honest, I really like to watch a team like ZGDX at competitions. They not only win often, but are willing to try everything, every champion. It makes watching much more interesting!]

Commentator B: [Hahahahahahahahaha, true. Since the other team is focusing on their mid, mid takes Lulu, who can farm at range, as well as shield, silence, and haste, and her ultimate grants bonus health-- --How would you kill such a champion? I ask you how? If the Qing Dynasty still insists on getting mid lane, then bot will have an easy time. Qing Dynasty has to make a tough decision here!]

The match began, Xu Tailun, as expected, was still trying to harass mid. But this time, Tong Yao had Lulu who was agile and her abilities were both useful defensively and offensively. Xu Tailun tried twice to catch Tong Yao but failed. He had no choice but to stay in the jungle and farm-- --

It didn’t look like he was interested in ZGDX’s bot either.

Xu Tailun had already wasted time trying to develop his champion when he tried to catch Tong Yao. Old K didn’t give him the chance to try and make up for it and had stolen what resources from Xu Tailun’s jungle he could while Xu Tailun was busy visiting mid. By the seventh minute of the game, Old K was already an entire level above Xu Tailun!

That wasn’t the worst part about Qing Dynasty’s situation.

The worst part for Xu Tailun was that after he had farmed the monsters in his own jungle, there was little left for him to do. His level would lag further and further from Old K-- --

In addition, Xu Tailun’s teammates at bot were having a difficult time without help from their jungler.

Around the fifteen minute mark, the first team fight occurred. Since ZGDX was playing 4 protect 1, both top and mid didn’t press the enemy too aggressively. Both sides were fairly even-- --But it was a different story at bot, Lu Sicheng had farmed roughly 40 more minions than the enemy. They were also behind Lu Sicheng in items as well. The two teams weren’t on the same level when they clashed!

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 78 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 78 Part 1

There was the smell of cologne on Xu Tailun.

Tong Yao found the stench quite irritating.

Tong Yao felt like sneezing and frowned-- --She couldn’t believe she’d thought Xu Tailun was a nice person. Not only was he good looking, more importantly he spoke Chinese well and seemed like such a personable guy. Even if he wasn’t good looking, he’d still be rather cute...

Her impression of him changed after she had witnessed his true colors.

All of his strong points were now just part of his act. Now even his cuteness became disgusting in Tong Yao’s eyes…...Tong Yao slightly lifted her head and coldly looked into the dark brown pupils of the man above her head: “What’s up?”

Xu Tailun smiled: “Can’t talk to you if there’s nothing up?”

“No, you can’t.” Tong Yao replied: “Let me go.”

As she was speaking, she tried pulling her hand out of his grip-- --She wasn’t successful and Xu Tailun increased the strength of his grip when he realized Tong Yao’s intentions. Now her wrist was starting to hurt.

Tong Yao’s eyebrows were knitted even more tightly now.

She could feel Xu Tailun bend over slightly and heard his voice right next to her ear: “Why did you have to say those things and put me on the spot during the stream that day? Wouldn’t it be much better if you just denied it completely?  It would be much easier for everybody……”

Half way through her struggle to free herself, Tong Yao suddenly stopped and slightly turned her face to the side. Her thumping heart quieted down all of sudden-- --It was the kind of calmness when one realized the enemies weakness. Tong Yao curved her lips up and said: “It’s my freedom to say what I want. I’m already doing you a favor when I didn’t divulge your lies. You didn’t repay me for my favor and even deliberately targeted me during the match today.”

“Because I’m not happy about it.”

“Your team lost the match because of you.”

“I don’t care. They wouldn’t object to it either-- --I’ve already won a bunch of matches for them. Isn’t it more fun to play as I wish once in a while?” Xu Tailun slightly squinted his eyes: “I can do more than that. Maybe we can lose the next match even more quickly. That won’t be any problem as long as you promise me that you’ll watch what you say from now on. Be a good girl, en?”

What was that? A promise to throw a game? A dirty deal?

Tong Yao had goosebumps all over her and subconsciously turned her head to look at the other end of the hallway-- --Xu Tailun pinched her chin to turn her head back: “Who are you looking for? Someone that can help you? Lu Sicheng? Don’t bother. All of your teammates are busy with my dear teammates in the break room asking them various questions. At this moment, no one-- --”

Before he could finish, Xu Tailun screeched out in pain.

Then he saw a row of teeth marks on his own wrist; the deepest hole had blood seeping out of it-- --Before he could react to what had happened to him, Tong Yao had squeezed herself out between the wall and Xu Tailun’s chest-- --

“I don’t need any help.” Tong Yao used the tip of her tongue to lick her teeth. She could taste blood and spit a couple times: “I hope you don’t have AIDS? My mom told me diseases always come in from the mouth……”

“......”

Tong Yao made a face towards him and turned around to go into the restroom.

After she walked in the restroom, her composure crumbled. She leaned against the wall, her heartbeat quickened. Her reflection in the mirror was pale…...She walked over to the basin to rinse her mouth and splash some cold water onto her face to cool herself down. Then she deliberately waited till the next match was about to begin to come out of the restroom. Xu Tailun had already left-- --Tong Yao hastily went back to her team’s break room. Her hand was slightly shaking when she opened the door.

Little Fatty asked her: “Where have you been?”

Tong Yao glanced at him and answered in a calm voice: “Restroom.”

Then they heard Xiao Rui call them from outside. Her teammates stopped asking her questions and walked out of the room one after another. Tong Yao cast her head down and tried to fall in the back of the group. She followed Little Fatty towards the door. But as her hand touched the doorknob, someone grabbed her arm from behind. Startled, her eyes flickered when she turned around to check. She discovered Lu Sicheng standing behind her.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 66 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 66 Part 1

When Xiang Nuan and Lin Chuyan arrived at the competition, Yang Yin, Zheng Dongkai and Waiwai were there already. Yang Yin was a little surprised to see Xiang Nuan with makeup on. She smiled and said: “You look so pretty today.”

Xiang Nuan giggled and put her arm around Yang Yin’s arm: “Yin Jiejie is also very pretty today.”

Today was a more formal occasion. Yang Yin as the coach had also put on some light makeup. Two pretty ladies walked towards the arena with three young men following behind like their bodyguards. On the way, everyone was staring at the two. Waiwai felt quite honored, though neither of the two girls were his girlfriend, they were on the same team as him.

Shen Zemu was the last one to arrive.

It was the first time Yang Yin had met Shen Zemu in person. He looked much better looking than she had imagined. But he seemed quite aloof, the antisocial type.

The first person Shen Zemu noticed was Xiang Nuan.

Shen Zemu nodded to everyone as a greeting and turned his eyes back to Xiang Nuan.

Then he asked Xiang Nuan: “When did you come back to Nanshan?”

Among the six, only he and Xiang Nuan were from other cities.

Xiang Nuan answered: “I came back yesterday. How about you, Xuezhang?”

Shen Zemu kept asking: “You didn’t stay at school?”

Urgh……

Xiang Nuan figured that telling the truth that she had stayed at Lin Chuyan’s home last night would sound rather dubious…...Even though nothing had happened between them yet.

As Xiang Nuan hesitated, Lin Chuyan took the chance to answer for her: “Xiang Nuan stayed at my home, Xuezhang.”

The expressions on Waiwai and Zheng Dongkai’s faces changed ever slightly.

Shen Zemu and Lin Chuyan exchanged a not so friendly look at each other. Yang Yin was thinking maybe she had left school for too long and couldn’t understand the relationship between students nowadays. The match was going to start soon and these guys were still here fighting for a woman’s affection?

The shameless Lin Chuyan wasn’t done with Shen Zemu yet. He grinned at Shen Zemu and said with his eyebrows raised: “Xuezhang can come stay at my place as well? We can share my room.”

Shen Zemu almost said ‘get lost,’ but stopped himself when he saw all the others were looking at him. He suppressed his irritation and replied simply: “It’s not necessary.” He said it forcefully and everyone could tell the disgust in his tone of voice.

The staff told them it was time to get to their positions. They stood up to walk over to the gaming area. Shen Zemu was in the front and could hear Zheng Dongkai and Lin Chuyan were talking behind.

Zheng Dongkai: “Don’t you have a lot of rooms in your house? Why do you need to share a room with him?”

Lin Chuyan: “I like to stay in the same room with xuezhang, so?”

Shen Zemu hoped that they would stop talking.

Xiang Nuan had thought that maybe Lin Chuyan liked her a little. Now she overheard the conversation between Lin Chuyan and Zheng Dongkai and felt a bit uncomfortable about Lin Chuyan’s sexual orientation. What if, she thought, Lin Chuyan liked both men and women? What if he likes her and Shen Xuezhang at the same time? Just like what they said in the school forum…...What should she do? Should she get Shen Zemu first so Lin Chuyan could only like her?......

“All of you, stay focused.” Yang Yin couldn’t stand it anymore.

Xiang Nuan stopped her wandering thoughts. She was thinking too much into it.

The opposing team was called Team Teacher Po. Before they took up their positions, the two teams shook hands with each other. Xiang Nuan politely smiled at each player from the opposing team when she shook hands with them and earnestly said: “Go for it!”

All five players of Team Teacher Po were male and three of them blushed after they shook hands with Xiang Naun.

The five talked among themselves as they walked back to their seats.

“Is that girl their secret weapon? She’s so pretty. She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen!”

“That’s for sure! What should I do? I feel like I’m going to fall in love……”

“Can we concentrate on the game?”

“Right, let’s focus on the game. You can ask for her WeChat id if we win.”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 77 Part 5

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 77 Part 5

As the enemy’s nexus exploded and the win music played, Tong Yao finally let the pent-up frustration out after holding it in for 40 minutes. She slapped down on the mouse and took off her earphones as she stood up, then she strode towards the break room without looking back!

“What’s that Long Ge up to? He didn’t make any sense playing this match.”

“Maybe he believed what Tong Yao said during his stream that made all that gossip about him and he’s taking revenge on her……”

“It can’t be. He’s going after a personal vendetta during an official competition? Can his teammates agree to that?”

“It doesn’t matter that much to lose one game in the group matches. Besides, the Qing Dynasty is a 4 protect one team, four Chinese players protect one Korean player, hehehehehehehehe……”

Tong Yao’s teammates walked towards the break room while chattering about the previous match. Lu Sicheng, walking in front, kept quiet until they reached the doorway when suddenly turned his head to look at the three chatting players behind. The three instantly stopped talking-- --

Tong Yao opened the door from inside at the same time.

Lu Sicheng: “Where are you going?”

Tong Yao: “To the bathroom.”

Lu Sicheng: “......We’ll play 4 protect 1 next match.”

Tong Yao: “Whatever. If he keeps playing this way, even if I take a super powerful tank, I’ll still die…...Next match, if he’s still camping mid, please, someone report him after the match that he’s griefing.”

After saying so, Tong Yao walked out of the break room with her head held up high.

Her four other teammates, standing outside the break room, all turned to watch her walk away-- --

Little Fatty: “Isn’t that something? I thought she would be crying.”

Old Cat: “I thought so too.”

Old K: “Maybe she’s too angry to cry.”

Lu Sicheng: “Are you guys coming in or not?”

Everyone: “......”

They all went into the break room, their discussion renewed.

Tong Yao, once again, saw Xu Tailun right in front of the women’s restroom. Xu Tailun was leaning against the wall. It was an awkward encounter.

If it wasn’t for the reason that her captain forbade her from getting into a fight, Tong Yao really wanted to jump on him and scratch his deceiving face……

Thinking about her captain, Tong Yao slightly lifted her chin up, straightened her back and tried to imitate her captain’s arrogance as she passed Xu Tailun. As she passed by him, he clasped one of her wrists and pushed her against the wall.

Tong Yao: “......”

…...What the hell was this, kabedon from a cockroach? Not even her captain had done this to her!

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 65 Part 3

Xiang Nuan was pretty to begin with and now with the light makeup her facial features stood out even more, especially her eyes which now looked brighter and clearer. Lin Chuyan’s heart skipped a beat after looking at Xiang Nuan’s eyes.

Xiang Nuan felt uneasy under Lin Chuyan’s constant gaze. She lowered her head and fidgetly tugged the corner of her top.

Yue Yingying understood her son’s reaction and lowered her head to grin: “Go now, come back early, Xiang Nuan. I’ll take you somewhere good for dinner tonight.”

Lin Chuyan gathered his wandering mind and replied: “We’re going to eat with the other players.”

“Alright.”

Lin Chuyan and Xiang Nuan walked side by side to the door. Lin Chuyan suddenly said: “Wait for me for a while.” He turned around and ran upstairs after saying so.

Xiang Nuan didn’t know what he was up to.

After a short while, Lin Chuyan came back: “Let’s go.”

-- --

Lin Chuyan sat on the driver’s seat and turned his face sideways to look at Xiang Nuan in the passenger seat.

Xiang Nuan blushed under his gaze, turned her face away and said in a small voice: “What are you looking at.”

“You look good.” Lin Chuyan said in a low voice and chuckled afterwards.

The chuckle was quiet but delighted.

Xiang Nuan didn’t know how to continue the conversation and lowered her head without saying anything. But she had a warm feeling in her heart.

Suddenly, a box was stuffed into her hands. When Lin Chuyan pushed the box into her hands, the tip of his index finger, intentionally or not, touched Xiang Nuan’s hand and lingered for a bit before moving away.

Xiang Nuan took a look at the box; it was an elegant black box with silver letters on top of it. The letters were in Italian. Xiang Nuan didn’t know what it meant.

“What’s this?” She asked.

“Open it.”

She opened it.

There was a brooch inside the box. It was two cherries on a branch; the branch was made of bronze and looked quite realistic. The two cherries seemed to be made of exquisite dark red glass beads.

“It’s so pretty.” Xiang Nuan exclaimed.

Lin Chuyan said: “Put it on.”

“This is for me?”

He turned sideways to look at her with a smile in his eyes as if to say: “Who else?”

Xiang Nuan couldn’t look straight in his eyes…... She lowered her head to take the brooch out of the box and put it on her sweater. She checked it after she had put it on and was quite pleased with how it looked.

Xiang Nuan asked: “Why give me this all of a sudden?”

Lin Chuyan looked straight ahead and started the car while answering casually: “I wanted to give it to you a while ago.”

Starlight Has No Past
Chapter 53 Epilogue

In the first year of Ye Qiao and Zhou Tingsheng’s marriage, they faced for the first time the question of whose family to spend Chinese New Year with.

Liang Zirao had come back from abroad before the New Year and called Zhou Tingsheng from the airport as soon as she landed: “I rushed home from my business trip to spend the New Year with dad, but you’re going to Ye Qiao’s family. You’re married to her family?”
Zhou Tingsheng patiently listened to his sister rant with a smile. After he hung up, he was met by a questioning look from Ye Qiao
“Your sister’s not happy about it?”
“Liang Zirao always likes to stir up trouble.” Zhou Tingsheng leisurely checked his cell phone: “You haven’t spent a New Year with your father for so many years, now we should get to your family first.”

He saw a news picture on his cell phone and showed it to Ye Qiao: “Who’s this again?”
Ye Qiao went over to take a look. It was the lead actor of the movie she had just agreed to do, a popular young actor. There was always gossip about him and any actress who worked with him. Now the media was making some gossip about him and Ye Qiao.
Ye Qiao dismissed it with a sneer: “It’s Jiang xx, don’t you know him?”
Zhou Tingsheng pretended to check him out: “He seems a little better than the last one.”
Ye Qiao pinched his arm: “What are you talking about?”
Zhou Tingsheng tried to avoid her: “I mean, I think we should find time to announce the news that we’re married.”

Ye Qiao paused and her expression became somewhat serious. Zhou Tingsheng understood that an actress had to listen to her agency. He pulled Ye Qiao over and kissed her hair: “It’s alright. Actually, it’s quite fun this way.”
But Ye Qiao didn’t find the fun in the situation.

On the way to her father’s house, both of them avoided the topic or anything regarding her work until a clicking sound came from Ye Qiao’s cell phone. Zhou Tingsheng knew that she’d snuck a picture of him and tried to take a look. But Ye Qiao had already posted it to her Weibo account which rarely had anything posted on it. But now there was a post wishing everyone a happy New Year and a special picture along with it.
Zhou Tingsheng didn’t know how to react: “Shen Ting won’t have a quiet New Year’s holiday now.”
“She won’t care about this.” Ye Qiao logged off Weibo before the wave of comments came rolling in. She would let the public relations people deal with it.

When they arrived at Xu Zang’s house, Cheng Su had already started preparing a banquet at home.
They entered the house as fireworks began exploding in the night sky.
Cheng Su had given birth to a baby boy in the fall. She had recovered well but gained some weight. Her slightly chubbier face made her appear even more kind and gentle. She greeted Ye Qiao and Zhou Tingsheng as they walked in: “Your father is in the study. Go get him for me.”
She had placed the baby boy in a stroller and pushed the stroller into the living room so the baby could celebrate with the rest of the family. The baby was wearing new red clothes and a red cap was hanging on the side of the stroller.

Zhou Tingsheng went to the study by himself to get his father-in-law. Ye Qiao stayed in the living room to play with the baby. She carefully put the new cap on her half-brother’s head. The baby giggled, totally oblivious of the rift in his family’s past.
Ye Qiao’s mind wandered as she looked at the baby’s innocent face.
She used to feel that it was disrespectful to the deceased to put the past behind her, but now she was thinking how wonderful the future was going to be.

Zhou Tingsheng quietly walked over to her from the study and put his arms around her from behind: “What are you thinking about?”
Ye Qiao turned around and gave him a sly look: “I’m thinking whether in the future he’ll raise his voice at me just like you treat Liang Zirao. I’ll be really mad.”
Zhou Tingsheng kissed her on the cheek and said without any room for arguing: “He won’t. You’ll definitely be a better sister than Liang Zirao.”
Ye Qiao laughed: “If she heard this, she’d drive me out of your family.”
“How can that happen?” Liang Zirao had been getting closer to Ye Qiao lately since Ye Qiao respected her as an actual sister, unlike Zhou Tingsheng who had always ignored her. Zhou Tingsheng mocked himself: “I feel like she’s closer to you than me now.”

Ye Qiao laughed and turned to look outside; a car was driving in, its headlights illuminated the front door.
Cheng Su went to welcome the guest. Ruan Feiyan got out of the car.
Xu Zang often invited her to come to dinner at his house that Ruan Feiyan was quite familiar with the place now. But she still looked around uneasily.
Zhou Tingsheng went out with Ye Qiao to greet her: “Xiao Yan.”
Ruan Feiyan nodded and walked towards the house. Cheng Su took out all sorts of fireworks she had prepared earlier and handed them over: “It’ll be a while before the dinner’s ready. How about you two play with some fireworks with Xiao Yan out here?”

Cheng Su had treated Ruan Feiyan as their adopted daughter and enjoyed buying toys for her as if she was still a young girl, even though she would be an adult this year. Ruan Feiyan set one off and quietly sat on the bench in the yard to watch the fireworks explode in the sky.
Ye Qiao also set another off and sat down next to her.
The chilly breeze had turned the tips of their ears red. They remained quiet for some time until Ruan Feiyan suddenly smiled and said: “The last time I played with fireworks was when I was little and my mom was still around.”

The corner of Ye Qiao’s mouth twitched slightly. Ruan Feiyan shrugged and said: “It’s nothing. It just happened to come to mind. I didn’t mean to bring up the past.” She pulled out her cell phone from her pocket and showed a picture to Ye Qiao.
A young man was smiling on the screen.
Ruan Feiyan told Ye Qiao: “I’ve gotten used to my school now. This is the guy sharing the same desk with me. Doesn’t he look good?”
“......” Ye Qiao was surprised and reminded Ruan Feiyan like an old fashioned elder lady: “You have the college entrance exam this year.”
“I know. I won’t do anything before I graduate!”
Ruan Feiyan laughed and Ye Qiao also smiled, breathing out a sigh of relief.

Zhou Tingsheng finally got a bucket of fireworks ready and ran over to them after he had set them all alight. The fireworks flew into the sky amidst their laughter and burst into sparkles above their heads.
The sparkles spread out in the night sky, then fell down like shooting stars, landing all around the yard.
Ye Qiao looked up at the fireworks, then turned to look at Zhou Tingsheng who was also looking at her.
He looked as if he was all alone in the yard surrounded by brilliant sparkles. Ye Qiao could see all the splendid fireworks in his bright eyes for the rest of their lives.

Starlight Has No Past - Chapter 52 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Starlight Has No Past
Chapter 52
Extra Part 2

Ye Qiao picked up one card, pointed at the question and asked Zhou Tingsheng in mock seriousness: “Mister, when was the last time you sang to yourself? And then to others?”
Zhou Tingsheng, completely disinterested, raised his eyebrows: “You don’t know?”
“Alright, let’s do another one.” Ye Qiao searched among the 36 questions and finally came up with one. She flipped the card over and asked: “Share with me the most embarrassing thing you’ve done in your life?”
Zhou Tingsheng crossed his arms around himself and asked: “What kind?”
Ye Qiao thought about it and said: “The kind that you can’t tell me.”

Zhou Tingsheng hooked his finger towards Ye Qiao. Ye Qiao leaned forward and Zhou Tingsheng whispered in her ear with a deep voice: “While you were filming in that remote village, I had gone to Wuzi’s place and had someone slap my face.”
Ye Qiao couldn’t comprehend what he meant: “What?”
“I thought at that time that you were into those things.” Zhou Tingsheng said gloomily.
It took Ye Qiao a while to realize what he was talking about. She couldn’t help herself from laughing: “You really did that?”
“Yeah.”
“How do you feel now that you know I’m not like that?”
Zhou Tingsheng flippantly said: “A little regretful.”
Ye Qiao snorted: “Then I’ll let you have a taste of that some other day.”

Qianxi brought over a cold drink for Zhou Tingsheng and cheerfully asked: “What? A taste of what?”
Zhou Tingsheng: “......”
Ye Qiao: “Kid, don’t ask so many questions.”
Feeling that her cousin was shunning her, Qianxi depressedly left.
Zhou Tingsheng pinched Ye Qiao’s earlobe: “Be more serious.”
Ye Qiao shrank back and rubbed her earlobe while staring back at him, then pushed the cards to him: “Come, it’s your turn to ask.”

Zhou Tingsheng went over the 36 questions several times and finally read one of them out loud: “Please share with each other what you think would be good qualities in your lover.”
Ye Qiao’s expression turned more serious, but she didn’t answer the question for a long time.
Zhou Tingsheng was a little hurt: “Is it that difficult to think of 5 strong points about me?”
“It’s not that……” Ye Qiao hesitated: “It’s because you are totally different from the kind of lover I thought I wanted before.”
“What kind?”
Ye Qiao answered honestly: “For example, I wanted to find someone who could give me the feeling like my father did before.”
Zhou Tingsheng disagreed: “That’s because you didn’t have enough love from your father. This doesn’t count.”
“Alright.” Ye Qiao awkwardly said: “En…...He has to be talented at least.”
Zhou Tingsheng unhappily said: “So I don’t have any talent?”
Ye Qiao covered her mouth to snicker: “......Not very explicitly.”
It was Ye Qiao’s way of complaining about him not being very artsy.
Zhou Tingsheng gave up: “Don’t you have any other requirements such as at least 6 feet tall?”
Ye Qiao held his face and shook it: “Am I that vulgar?”
Zhou Tingsheng mumbled: “Hehe, it’s better to be vulgar.”
Ye Qiao distastefully looked at him for a while, then asked him back in earnest: “How about you?”
“I forgot.” Zhou Tingsheng pondered for a moment then said: “It seems that after I’ve met you, everything is fine as long as it’s you.”

Ye Qiao took the cards back and quickly found another question: “You have only 4 minutes. Please give a detailed account about your past in these 4 minutes.”
She actually already knew many stories about his past. But she didn’t know a lot of details about those stories.
Zhou Tingsheng thought deeply for a long time again. Ye Qiao patiently waited for him to start.

Finally, Zhou Tingsheng started talking: “I was very naughty when I was young. Liang Zirao always followed rules and tried her best to reach the top. I’m not that aggressive like her and not that behaved either. After I started school, I gradually understood that my father had been working on stopping drug trafficking and had made enemies of some extremely vicious people. Because of that, they kidnapped my mother and killed her. Even after my father retired, those people would still harass us. In my teenage years, I met a person with a shady background who pushed me to tag along with him. I didn’t refuse and kept close contact with him. I was very naive at the time. I thought, through him, I could find out who those drug dealers were and have them all arrested.”
“My intentions were discovered later on and this person tried to kill me. I could have avoided him but all the hatred surged up at that moment and I stabbed him with a knife.”
“I was full of myself at the time.” He said.

Afterwards, he learned his lessons: “After the incident, I couldn’t live a normal life for quite some time and almost had a fall out with my father. Later on, I figured that I couldn’t go on with my life like that and it so happened that I had reached the age to enlist. I thought in such a highly disciplined environment, I could forget a lot of things about the past. My father and Liang Zirao also thought it would be a good experience for me.”
“But, Fang Ru’s tragic incident happened.” He snickered to himself: “I had to get out of the military. Afterwards, I floated around with Desa, didn’t want to go home and couldn’t stand meat anymore. Then I got to know Wuzi, he introduced me to a tattoo master. He told me that tattooing would help me overcome my psychological barrier since it almost had the same feeling as opening up someone’s body with your own hands.”
“It does help to some extent. I’m able to face myself more but lost all interest in girls. At that time, I thought that I had better not get involved with any woman, otherwise I would only do her harm.”

Ye Qiao listened quietly, then tried to lighten things up: “Then why did you decide to harm me instead?”
Zhou Tingsheng lifted her chin and lightly kissed her on her lips: “Because there are certain things that after you’ve tasted them, you can’t rid them off you.”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 77 Part 4

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 77 Part 4

Commentator A: [To be fair, Qing’s jungler is going too far.]

Commentator B: [Smiling must be yelling inside ‘Why’s this guy always gunning for me!’]

Commentator A: [But there’s no reason behind it. I have to be honest, it feels rather rude what he’s doing-- --I can’t tell what exactly Qing Dynasty’s is trying to do here. After ten minutes into the game, all I can tell is that they want to kill Smiling.]

Commentator B: [Hahahahaha, watch what you’re saying. Don’t blame me for not reminding you and don’t ask me why I said so. Later you’ll know after checking the kind of comments Qing Dynasty’s fans will be leaving under your Weibo.]

The commentators were baffled by the Qing Dynasty’s strategy as well as the audience.

As for Tong Yao, the person actually playing the game, she was simmering with rage. When Lee Sin showed up at mid for the fifth time, the cool down time of her flash ability happened to be up and Tong Yao flashed under the turret without a second’s thought the moment Lee Sin started to head her way. She saw Lee Sin follow after her-- --She had used all her damaging abilities and invited him, but at this point she was poorly equipped and couldn’t deal much damage to Lee Sin. Tong Yao calculated the damage she could cause and realized that the most she could get would be a trade-- --

Fortunately, a huge arrow shot from bot hit Lee Sin just in time!

Commentator A: [Ahhhhhh, it got him! ! ! What an angle! ! !]

Commentator B: [It’s from Lu Sicheng! Do they think there’s any use aiming solely at mid? Don’t forget bot also has a carry!]

The shout from the commentators made the audience excited. The arrow had stunned Lee Sin under the turret for a few seconds and let him take enough damage from the turret-- --

Tong Yao took the chance to cut Lee Sin a few more times.

Then she retreated-- --

Lee Sin eventually died under the turret.

The audience burst into an uproar and applause!

Commentator A: [That arrow was a typical hero’s rescue. To be fair, if it weren’t for that arrow, Smiling wouldn’t have been able to fight Lee Sin.]

“I said I should’ve taken Lulu for this one!”

Tong Yao went back to base, very irritated-- --This was the second time in her professional career to be treated this way. The first time was from Ah Tai. But this time, the opponent knew very well that they weren’t on equal footing with ZGDX in the other two lanes and they still tried to aim only at her-- --

She concluded that they had done this on purpose.

If it were a normal ranked game, any player who had been treated this way probably would go on public chat and diss the other guy.

Tong Yao, however, knew that in a competition like this there were many staff workers who would be recording while they were playing. She couldn’t curse or say anything inappropriate. She had to suppress her anger and keep dragging on with her miserable stats. She watched Lu Shicheng and Old Cat reap the outcome from her sacrifice-- --

Because of Qing Dynasty’s idiotic strategy, they had lost control of their jungle. Their top and bot were cleared out by Old Cat and Lu Sicheng. By the 40th minute of the game, Tong Yao watched her teammates push the enemy’s base while she was looking at a gray screen waiting to be revived. Her stat was a glorious 1 kill, 12 death, and 3 assists.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 65 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 65 Part 2

Xiang Nuan tried to imagine the scene where she confessed to Lin Chuyan and the thought made her uneasy: “What if he laughs at me when I confess to him?”

“If he laughs at you, just throw him into a washing machine.”

“Ha?”

“Spin the water in his head out.”

Xiang Nuan tried again to imagine how it would look like if Lin Chuyan were to be stuffed into the washing machine and found the image rather funny.

-- --

The competition next day started at two o’clock in the afternoon. Yang Yin didn’t ask the team to train in the morning. Xiang Nuan and Lin Chuyan were playing duos the whole morning to relax and get into the gaming mode.

Yue Yingying had delivered fruits to them once, drinks twice, and one more time for desserts and snacks. Afterwards, she decided to stay in the room right next to Xiang Nuan to watch her play.

Lin Chuyan didn’t feel like he was his mother’s biological son at this point. His mother knew that he was playing this game and that he was playing in a competition. But she had never asked anything about it, she wasn’t interested in whether he had won or lost his matches. But since Xiang Nuan was here, she sat down right next to her and pretended to understand the game. In addition, she had considerately kept quiet in order not to disturb Xiang Nuan.

After a while, Xiang Nuan was a little tired from playing and her shoulders felt a bit sore. When she began to slightly move her shoulders around, Yue Yingying stood up and said: “Come, let auntie massage your shoulders.”

Xiang Nuan replied with a smile: “Auntie, you’re so nice.”

Lin Chuyan felt like they were sisters. Then he stopped himself from thinking that way. If they were sisters, then Xiang Nuan would be Auntie Xiang Nuan…...Lin Chuyan forbid himself from continuing down that thought.

Yue Yingying asked Xiang Nuan: “Do you need to put on some makeup for today’s comepetition?”

Xiang Nuan shook her head: “I don’t think so. It’s not a beauty pageant.”

“Won’t you be on camera?”

“I shouldn’t be. Though there’s streams for the competition, it’ll mostly be pictures of the ongoing matches. There’s no commentators and it won’t pan over to the players either. This kind of competition isn’t that important and it isn’t like the official professional competitions.” Xiang Nuan briefly repeated what Yang Yin had explained to her.

Yue Yingying said: “But you should still put on some makeup. What if they turned the camera on you? You have to show the best side of yourself to the audience.”

The way she put it, Xiang Nuan felt like she was being treated like a big movie star. Xiang Nuan was quite flattered but still a bit bashful: “Actually, I’m not good at putting on makeup……” She didn’t have enough practice. T ^ T

Yue Yingying was waiting for Xiang Nuan to say that. She lightly patted Xiang Nuan’s shoulder: “I know how to. I’ll do it for you. I guarantee that I’ll make you pretty.”

-- --

While Yue Yingying was putting makeup on Xiang Nuan, she marveled at how nice Xiang Nuan’s skin was. It was supple, smooth,  and fair with a pinkish undertone, without blemishes or pimples. There was only one tiny little light brown mole the size of a sesame seed on her left chin, which was hardly noticeable. Her skin condition was the perfect example of the saying-- --Youthfulness is the best cosmetic.

Yue Yingying only put light makeup on Xiang Nuan to show off her youthful skin. Xiang Nuan’s eyes, with Yue Yingying’s skillful touch, looked even larger and more lively as it they could talk. Xiang Nuan had perfectly shaped lips, the feature of her face Yingying particularly liked. She took good care of Xiang Nuan’s lips and was quite satisfied with the result.

After the makeup was done, Yue Yingying led Xiang Nuan to Lin Chuyan.

Lin Chuyan was a little taken aback by the makeup’s effect.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 77 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 77 Part 3

The match against Qing Dynasty was four days later at 3 pm on a Sunday afternoon.

Tong Yao went to check out the place after arriving at the arena and having her makeup done. She happened to cross paths with Xu Tailun in the hallway-- --If it were a player from any other team, she would definitely greet the person politely. But since it was Xu Tailun, she had chosen to ignore him, despite having a rather good impression of him at first. She passed him without even giving him a glance.

She knew that Xu Tailun had turned to look at her after she had passed him by.

The game started 30 minutes later.

“Tong Yao, which champion do you want to take today? They haven’t banned many mid champions…...Kassadin? Karma? Diana? Syndra? Leblanc?” Ming god asked in the earphones: “You can choose any of them, it seems, you can handle them all anyway.”

“I don’t know.” Tong Yao checked the lineup of the opposing team. The enemy jungler had picked a champion with strong gank power in the early game, Lee Sin. Tong Yao didn’t have a good premonition. She paused for a second before asking: “Why don’t I take Lulu and let’s play 4 protect 1?”

“....................What hell with Lulu. Where’s our fighting heroine? Isn’t our mid the attacking type? Are you taking on Lu Yue’s persona?”

“Ur, well, then never mind.”

Tong Yao wiped her face. Maybe she was just being paranoid and instead picked Syndra as her champion. She thought to herself: Even if that jungler intended to play rough, his teammates shouldn’t have to go along with him?

After the game started, Tong Yao found that she was totally wrong.

Since the beginning of the game, the five players from Qing Dynasty stayed together in mid-lane and attacked Tong Yao’s champion until they killed her-- --Afterwards, Lee Sin kept coming up to the mid lane as if he lived there and didn’t bother protecting his teammates at top and bot lanes. In the first ten minutes, he had visited mid four times. Tong Yao’s champion was powerless to protect itself from Lee Sin’s kicks and ended up hiding under the turret.

Even then, Lee Sin would still tower dive after her.

By the 12th minute into the game, Tong Yao had only managed to farm a little bit over 40 minions and was a level and a half lower than the enemy’s mid!

The kill ratio of the time was 7 : 5, with ZGDX leading with 1500 gold. It was because-- --

Commentator A: [This doesn’t make any sense! What’s going on today? Qing Dynasty has no rhythm at all. All they see is mid and only attack mid! This isn’t the third place team that we know of from the Spring Competition!]

Commentator B: [Maybe it’s because they’ve learned from Huawei team that the few times they won against ZGDX was from attacking mid like crazy, so they’re brainlessly copying that.]

Commentator A: [But for them it’s useless! Well, Huawei at least had three main players; they could maintain an equal footing in the other lanes while concentrating on mid-- --What does Qing Dynasty have? The only main player has stayed in mid and his other teammates are no match at all against ZGDX in the other two lanes. What’s the point of just winning in one lane. Old K takes care of top then comes down to the bot; ZGDX owns those two lanes!]

Commentator B: [I don’t get it either, don’t ask me! You can interview Qing’s jungler after the match to see what he’s thinking.]

While the two commentators were exchanging their confusion, Qing’s jungler, after clearing the monsters in the upper half of the jungle, had squatted inside the bush again, at a time that a jungler normally wouldn’t appear at. He was ready to gank mid for the fifth time-- --

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 65 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 65 Part 1

The two remained silent on the way back to Lin Chuyan’s house from the musical.

Yue Yingying was very considerate and prepared many items for Xiang Nuan to make her stay more comfortable. There were toiletries, skin care products, slippers, pajamas, and even a white aroma diffuser…... She basically had thought about everything.

To Xiang Nuan, it felt more comfortable than staying in a five star hotel.

As she was lying on the soft bed, she sent a message to Min Lili: Are you awake, silly Li?

Min Lili instantly replied: I’m awake, silly Nuan. What’s going on?

Xiang Nuan wanted to tell Min Lili about her feelings but found it difficult to talk about it. She only replied: I have a match tomorrow.

Min Lili: I heard from Zheng Dongkai.

Xiang Nuan: Then aren’t you going to root for me?

Min Lili: Now you remember about me? I have been talking to Zheng Dongkai more than you during this vacation! Now tell me, did you get new friend besides me?

Xiang Nuan: ……

Min Lili: En? It can’t be that you really have a new friend? Who’s that? I’ll go cut her down.

Xiang Nuan called Min Lili on the phone.

“Lili, I seem to like someone……” She blushed, as if she was talking about something shameful.

Min Lili: “Ohhhhhhh, so our Xiang Nuan is love sick? Let me guess who that person is, ha…...The person’s last name is Min, right?”

“Don’t joke around, I’m serious.”

“Alright, alright…...It’s Lin Chuyan, right?”

Xiang Nuan was quiet for a while then asked in a small voice: “How did you guess it on the first try?”

“You can call me Li god from now on. So what about it, silly Nuan, are you guys together yet? You have to promise me that you have to buy me dinner when you aren’t single anymore. You have buy me whatever I want to eat.”

“We aren’t together yet, I don’t even know how he feels.”

“Oh?”

Xiang Nuan thought about it and said: “Actually, I think he probably likes me a little bit as well.”

“Oh? Why do you say so?”

“Let me tell you something. Last Valentine’s day, he switched the chocolates that someone else was going to give me into poop-- --”

“What the heck! Shouldn’t you club this kind of man to death? !”

“No, no, let me finish! It’s chocolate in the shape of poop! Chocolates! It’s still chocolate……”

“Oh, oh.” Min Lili breathed out a sigh of relief: “I mean, even though Lin Chuyan doesn’t have a good reputation, he shouldn’t be this disgusting.”

“There’s more.” Xiang Nuan thought about what had happened today, amused: “He even let me braid his hair.”

“Is…...did he ask you to do that on his own? Nuannuan, listen to me, you don’t want this kind of man.” Min Lili sounded sincerely worried.

“No, no, I asked if I could do it. He refused in the beginning, but agreed to let me do it later.”

“Nuannuan, somehow your words make me think of porn novels!”

“......” Xiang Nuan really didn’t want to continue the conversation with Min Lili anymore!

Min Lili said again: “Alright, I’ll be serious. When will you two be together then? Give me a date, I’ll think about what I want to eat, xixi.”

Xiang Nuan was a bit sad: “I don’t know myself. He hasn’t confessed to me yet.”

“Then, why can’t you confess to him?”
