You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 147 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 147 Part 1

The second round was about to start, all the players went back to their seats and put on their headphones ready for a new round’s ban & pick phase. It seemed to ZGDX that whether they would be on the next episode of “best quotes montage” or not was not something to be afraid of anymore. They were sure some of their exchanges would be on it-- --Now the question to them was: whether they want to make the next “best quotes montage” be exclusively from their team?

Tong Yao felt it was necessary to do so, at this moment.

CK banned Sivir first of all; Lu Sicheng’s Sivir was quite annoying in the previous round. Ming god asked: “Sivir got banned this round. What should Cheng Ge get?”

Lu Sicheng moved his lips and was about to say whichever would be fine. Suddenly the one sitting next to him interjected: “Let him take Draven.”

Lu Sicheng turned his head to take a look at her. He thought why mention Draven of all the ad champions. Why did you pick the only one which I’m not good at, are you trying to tease me?

…...Before he had opened his mouth to ask her whether she was making trouble, Tong Yao had adjusted her posture and coldly said with a calm face: “Then, which one you should get? Ezreal? Kalista? Lucian? Twitch? Kog’Maw? Varus? …...A liar is unworthy of these champions.”

Lu Sicheng: “En. How am I a liar?”

Tong Yao: “You said you’d quit smoking.”

Lu Sicheng sighed: “I didn’t smoke just now.”

Tong Yao rolled her eyes: “Lu Sicheng, does your cologne smell like air freshener? It would have been better if you had said that there was someone smoking in the stall next to you in the restroom and that was why you smell like smoke. Why do you have to be so dramatic? Are you a drama queen?”

Lu Sicheng: “......”

Lu Sicheng lowered his head speechlessly and listened quietly to her lecture. The other teammates including Ming god all collectively burst into laughter. Old Cat locked down Ezreal for his Captain with a shaky hand from laughing too hard-- --During the whole process, Lu Sicheng didn’t have the time to make a request or suggestion. He only had the time to listen to the lecture…...If Xiao Rui were present at the time, he would probably write down this historic moment of [another example to confirm and stress the fact that the team bully has been something of the past].

The ban & pick phase continued. When everyone was in a heated discussion about which champion was better for which position, Lu Sicheng suddenly said: “The sound people backstage, don’t put that exchange in the montage.”

Tong Yao was surprised: “Why not?”

To protect his image? Lu Sicheng had been smoking before and it had never tarnished his image as a god to his fans.

Tong Yao was pondering and heard Lu Sicheng say after giving her a glance: “I’m worried that you, the new team bully, would receive some blades again.”

Tong Yao couldn’t tell whether he truly meant it or not. Instinctively, she felt that she should be angry, but once she thought it over, she felt that it sounded somewhat considerate, oddly enough-- --She hadn’t figured it out how it was considerate, but she did feel the warmth in her heart which she couldn’t stop. She dryly coughed and made a mocking smile: “How considerate.”

Lu Sicheng nodded seriously: “That’s for sure.”

Tong Yao: “......”

While they were chichatting, Ming god had already directed Old K to take Rumble for Old Cat. Ming god kicked Lu Sicheng to remind him to stop flirting and pay attention.  At this time, the other side suddenly picked Irelia!

The audience was in commotion-- --Irelia, like Yasuo, were used quite often in normal ranked matches, but for regular professional competitions, it was very rare for a professional player to take it. It was quite surprising for Come Good Luck to take her-- --

“Isn’t CK’s Come Good Luck good at tank type champions? Why is he picking Irelia to scare me?” Little Fatty was confused.

“Lu Yue also plays Twisted Fate now.” Lu Sicheng calmly and kindly reminded Little Fatty.

The whole team was silent, then they all had a relieved expression on their faces.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 146 Part 4

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 146 Part 4

Li Sicheng hung around the restroom for a little longer.

After he was sure that there was no smell on him, he pulled open the door and waved at Yang god: “Go for it next round. Though we’d lost to you once in the spring competition, we aren’t planning to lose any more games this year…… Oh, right, don’t tell her about me smoking. I know you still have her WeChat.”

He then opened the door and walked out of the restroom-- --The dashing view of his back was also quite familiar to Jian Yang. It kept reminding Jian Yang the same scene from their last encounter and the ominous premonition he had at that time……

The premonition had become a reality now. Damn.

Jian Yang was left by himself in the restroom. He stared quietly at the air freshener which had been placed behind the door for about 30 seconds. Then he walked forward and forcefully slapped it into the trash can. Having seemingly vented all his anger, he pulled on his uniform and walked out of the restroom with a stone face.

When Jian Yang was walking back towards CK’s break room, he passed by ZGDX’s break room and could faintly hear the conversation inside-- --

A woman’s voice: “Lu Sicheng, damn, you’ve been smoking haven’t you?” After a few seconds of silence, a man’s voice replied: “No, you’re falsely accusing me.”......

Jian Yang paused a little, yet only for a short moment.

Then he quickened his steps as he walked away, unwilling to hear more of their conversation-- --

Time is a strange thing. The last encounter in the restroom was like a scripted scene from a drama. In a short span of half a year, the two who should have been even closer were now strangers yet the two strangers had become so intimate.

…...Jian Yang couldn’t figure out why.

Jian Yang pushed the door to the break room open. His teammates looked up and waved him over to review the stats of the last round and discuss the jungler route of the next round. Jian Yang adjusted the expression on his face and walked over to join the others. No one noticed anything different.

It was as if nothing had really happened earlier.

There was no encounter.

There was no momentary lapse of control.

…...Nothing ever happened.

Xiao Hua: “That first gank at bot, shit, Lu Sicheng was a great actor. Obviously he had already called that damn Old K down to counter gank, but he acted like he was really retreating…… Shit, why do I have the feeling that the other side’s already figured out your jungler routine, Yang god? Why don’t you come gank mid first the next round?”

Jian Yang: “If I knew that, I wouldn’t have gone to the restroom even if I held it till I exploded.”

Xiao Hua: “Hum?”

Jian Yang: “......”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 146 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 146 Part 3

CK’s players reacted quite calmly to losing the first round of the match. They knew ZGDX would be a tough opponent. Besides, the playoffs of the League of Legends professional league competition had always been best of 5 (* 3 wins out of 5 rounds). As such, they didn’t take losing the first round too seriously.

After the game, Jian Yang didn’t go to the break room but headed directly for the restroom reserved for players to wash his face-- --As he was washing his hands, his phone rang. He answered the phone and turned it on speaker phone as he always does. Then he put the phone on the counter and answered the call as he washed his face-- --When he was done washing his hands, he also finished the brief phone call. Jian Yang picked up his phone.

Right at that moment, the door of the last stall was opened from inside. There was no flushing sound. A man lazily walked out of the stall with a cigarette in his mouth which was almost burned out and was face to face with Jian Yang.

Lu Sicheng bit on the cigarette butt and slightly squinted his eyes.

Jian Yang: “......”

It was a familiar scene.

Jian Yang put the phone into his pocket, was quiet for a moment, then said with an awkward smile: “Cheng Ge.”

“En.” Lu Sicheng answered, threw the cigarette butt away, went over to the sink, and began carefully washing his hands with liquid soap. He looked up in the mirror to glance at Jian Yang who was looking at him blankly: “Got up too early this morning. Smoking to give myself a lift.”

His tone was rather gentle.

Jian Yang nodded and replied: “Yeah, there’s only one game each day. Don’t know why the organizer has to schedule it so early in the day.”

After he finished, they were looking at each other without anything to say again.

It was awkward.

It was damn awkward.

Jian Yang watched Lu Sicheng acting as if he was trying to cover up something. After washing his hands carefully, he lifted up his hands to smell whether there was any odor left. Then he turned to dry his hands under the hand dryer. He even bent over to put his head under the dryer-- --Jian Yang was speechless watching Lu Sicheng’s movements. Lu Sicheng even slightly tilted his body towards Jian Yang and asked: “Can you smell anything?”

Jian Yang: “......”

Lu Sicheng straightened up and started to look over the restroom for the air freshener. As he was looking around, he said: “I remembered that the last time I met you in the restroom was at the finals of the spring competition. You were on the phone back then too……”

Finally, he had found the air freshener at the back of the door. He walked over and spread it over himself a couple of times-- --He paused for a moment, then as if he was reminiscing about that encounter and said: “You were talking with my girl at the time, right? Hrm, I was wondering at the time who that tough talking girl was.”

Jian Yang: “......”

Lu Sicheng smiled: “I didn’t expect she would become our teammate.”

And she had become my girlfriend.

Lu Sicheng didn’t have the heart to say the second part of his thoughts. He was simply reminiscing an event.

Jian Yang: “En. At the time…… I just learned that she was going to play professionally and was very surprised. Actually we didn’t have much contact for quite some time after we broke up. I didn’t expect that she would come play professionally, so I called her to find out what was going on.”

Lu Scheng cast down his eyes: “En.” Then he laughed after thinking about something: “Oh, right, your first gank really scared her. Her scream almost made us throw our mouses away.”

Watching Lu Sicheng laugh, Jian Yang didn’t feel proud or anything like it for his success in the gank. Instead, he was feeling rather perturbed. Looking at Lu Sicheng’s face, Jian Yang’s brain probably short circuited and abruptly said: “Actually I never thought about breaking up with her at the time.”

“......” Lu Sicheng raised his eyes up to give him a glance and acted as if he wasn’t surprised to hear him say that-- --Without much reaction, he simply smiled: “Then I have to thank you for letting her go, otherwise how can I take advantage of the void.”

Jian Yang’s face stiffened; he looked like he really wanted to grab the air freshener from Lu Sicheng’s hand and spray it all over his smiling, calm face-- --Certainly, Jian Yang didn’t do that but instead smiled dryly: “Yeah, it’s over a long time ago…...Why are you doing all this with the hand washing and air freshener. I remember someone mentioned that you’ve quit smoking.”

“Half quit. I smoke much less at base anyway.” Lu Sicheng put the air freshener back: “It’s mainly because she has strict rules.”

Jian Yang: “......”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 146 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 146 Part 2

It was only seven minutes into the game and both mid and bot had made kills. With the two important carry positions both with a kill each, it had pretty much secured an advantage in each of the two lanes-- --

ZGDX was a team which was good at snowballing.

Once they gained an advantage in a certain lane, they could expand the advantage under most  circumstances until that specific lane was strong enough to take over the game and win in the end, unless the other side’s jungler was willing to give up the jungle and stay put in that lane.

-- --It was a situation that CK didn’t want to see in the early game with both Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng having a kill each. And with Old K being a very aggressive jungler, once CK failed to protect their resources in the jungle, he would start plundering their resources!

Yang god couldn’t be at two places at once. He could only take their support, Old Wang, to wander about and placed wards defensively all over their own jungle and river to protect their own mid and bot as much as possible. They were hoping to stop Old K from coming to these two lanes to gank so as to prevent the gap from widening in these two lanes till the end of the laning phase……

“The other side has used all their gold to buy wards. Why don’t you guys have a selfless spirit like that?” Tong Yao mumbled: “The bush at my mid lane has turned into a mesh strainer with all the wards they placed here. Little Fatty, you place a couple for me too!”

Little Fatty: “Don’t make a fuss. Let me make the shoes first…… Don’t panic. It’s all defensive wards. It’s no big deal, Old K can stay on top and avoid mid. Yang god doesn’t have the heart to attack you anyway.”

Lu Sicheng took a glance at Little Fatty with a fake smile, but he didn’t say anything. Old K chimed in to tease Little Fatty: “You sure are brave enough to say that. Do you want Cheng Ge to ever heal you again?”

Little Fatty: “You’re too talkative. Why don’t you buy a couple of wards and place them for her.”

Old K: “I won’t.”

Tong Yao didn’t know what to think listening to her two stingy teammates: “Shit, a ward only costs a few cents. You two are so petty even when we have an advantage. If we were at a disadvantage, can we still keep playing?...... Saying what Yang god wouldn’t come to mid, how come I think he doesn’t seem to-- --Ahhhhhhhh!”

Before she finished her words, Tong Yao was chained by the other side’s Leblanc. At this point of the game, everyone had their ultimates available. Once she was chained, she would either die or have to use her flash. Tong Yao certainly didn’t want to die, therefore she decided to use flash to run away-- --But before she could do anything, the one who Little Fatty said wouldn’t have the heart to attack her, Kindred, suddenly jumped out of the bush along the river. Amidst Tong Yao’s scream, Jian Yang didn’t act as if he ‘didn’t have the heart’ but stepped directly on Tong Yao’s face. With a flurry of abilities, he killed Tong Yao instantly!

Tong Yao: “..................................................”

Tong Yao slammed the mouse quite forcefully. Her heart was still thumping from the shock of seeing Yang god appear so abruptly. Then she heard the happy laughter of Lu Sicheng in her headphones-- --

Tong Yao was exasperated: “What are you laughing at!”

Lu Sicheng slowly said: “The audience sitting in the very last row could probably hear your scream just now.”

Tong Yao paused and blushed: “That’s impossible!”

As she was retorting him, she didn’t know that the audience including the commentators had all burst into laughter which she couldn’t hear because of the soundproof headphones she was wearing-- --Just a few seconds earlier, her earnest scream from being scared had interrupted the commentators commentary and reached the ears of everyone in the audience-- --And then, the audience sitting in the front rows could also hear the bickering between Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng. They doubled down with laughter and couldn’t control themselves.

The game had gone on for 15 minutes.

With such a hilarious early game, this round was destined to move along in a cheerful atmosphere-- --

Though Tong Yao had killed Xiao Hua early on, the advantage she enjoyed diminished somewhat because Yang God had killed her just a few minutes later. From this time on till the end of the laning phase, she didn’t make much progress on Xiao Hua……

Fortunately, Lu Sicheng’s bot had kept its advantage. In addition, at top Old Cat used Rumble’s ultimate on Come Good Luck’s Gnar. Finally, at the 39th minute, while ZGDX was fighting Baron, CK came over to fight them. Lu Sicheng immediately ordered his teammates to give up on Baron even though Baron had only half of its health left. ZGDX’s players gave up the fight without hesitation and started retreating while fighting off CK……

In the midst of the seesaw battle, both teams reached a narrow part of the jungle. CK then realized that they had been tricked, but it was too late to retreat!

Old Cat’s Rumble, who had been keeping his ultimate handy, finally used his ultimate to roast the four CK players who were crowded in the jungle and disable CK’s ad! Tong Yao came up to push him back, then Lu Sicheng followed up with two critical hits dropping the other CK players’ health, who had been weakened by Old Cat already, to slivers. Tong Yao and Old Cat then followed up with their remaining abilities to reap the endgame!

At 41 minute and 20 second mark, ZGDX pushed to CK’s base and ended the first round!

When the ZGDX players took off their headphones and stood up, the audience cheered them. The noise of the applauses almost inundated the sound of their own conversation!

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 146 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 146 Part 1

Once the match started, both sides entered a normal laning phase-- --Though Tong Yao hadn’t been able to pick Leblanc during official competitions or skirmishes for quite some time, she could usually play Leblanc during ranked matches. Leblanc was still a familiar champion to her. By looking at the other side’s Leblanc’s item builds and creep score, she could already fully understand Leblanc’s economy, basic attack damage and ability damage.

In addition, Tong Yao was fully aware of Leblanc’s abilities and mobility. As such, during the early game, Xiao Hua couldn’t gain an advantage when exchanging abilities or farming-- --As for surprise attacks, that was simply out of the question. Basically whenever Xiao Hua moved to a position where he had prepared to attack, Tong Yao would slip away like an eel. Xiao Hua couldn’t do anything about it.

Three minutes into the game, a group of monsters had been taken care of. Tong Yao took a look at the time and was about to say something when she heard Lu Sicheng asked Old K: “Have you farmed enough? If so, come down to bot. I have a feeling that Yang god is coming this way.”

By watching replays of CK’s matches, he had noticed that Jian Yang liked to go to bot for his first gank-- --It wasn’t a wild guess on Lu Sicheng’s part. Every player had his own routine and preference. It was like Pope who wouldn’t give up rushing the turret before reaching level 4 as long as the enemy hadn’t been pushing him hard enough. Sometimes even the players themselves didn’t realize that they had such a habit……

Old K acknowledged Lu Sicheng’s request. After he finished taking down the four raptors, at the 4th minute, he headed into the bushes at bot without bothering with the other monsters even though he had Smite available-- --

At the 4th minute 20th second, Yang god’s Kindred indeed came down to the bot. He worked with CK’s bot duo to form an advantage of 3 against 2-- --Yet Lu Sicheng and Little Fatty, who were expecting the arrival of enemies, took their time to make a fighting retreat. While draining Yang god who was ahead of the others, they were retreating towards their outer turret……

When they were closer to their own side, Old K suddenly appeared!

Old K’s champion leaped out from underground to attack Kindred!

Little Fatty: “Ah!”

Old K: “Ahhh! Look how high I sent him!”

Little Fatty: “At this moment, Yang god in my eyes is already a corpse.”

In the midst of their yammering, the retreating Lu Sicheng started to attack. In the first second Yang god landed on the ground, he was hooked by the q ability of Little Fatty’s Thresh. As he reeled Kindred in, Little Fatty cast q again together along with his e ability to attack Kindred. Before Yang god had a chance to react, his champion had already died from their perfectly coordinated attacks!

The first blood!

ZGDX fans in the audience were in a great excitement-- --

But before they finished cheering for the teamwork between Little Fatty and Old K, a prompt appeared on the big screen: Syndra kills Leblanc!

The audience was stunned.

Commentator A: [Hahahahahaha, wait, wait, what did we miss here?]

Commentator B: [How did mid make a kill? Where's the Program Director? Come, someone get the Program Director to replay it! ! ! ]

Commentator A: [Let’s take a look at the replay of what happened at mid…… To tell the truth, I’ve so focused on bot and didn’t really notice what was going on at mid.]

The audience, like the commentators, was surprised by the news and couldn’t figure out what had happened. The program director kindly replayed the scenes at mid. Then everyone realized that right at the moment when there was a 3v3 fight in bot, the two champions at mid were also involved in a fight-- --

In the beginning, Xiao Hua was pretending to farm, then he used Leblanc’s w ability to step on Smiling’s face and lashed out with all his abilities on her. Afterwards, he immediately moved back using the w ability. Smiling’s Syndra was now at low health and started to retreat-- --

Right at that moment, a similar scenario that had happened at bot happened at mid. Xiao Hua wanted to chase after Tong Yao and demonstrated his quick fingers by dashing with w, chaining Smiling with e, and then warping back with w. What he didn’t expect was that Smiling would suddenly stop retreating once she was back behind the minion lane. Smiling mashed qwqeqr plus ignite on Xiao Hua. Xiao Hua didn’t even have a chance to react and was killed instantly. Smiling’s Syndra gained a kill!

After the replay, the audience was in an uproar.

Commentator A: [Wow, the speed of Smiling’s fingers, ahhhhh! Single for 20 years!]

Commentator B: [Poof, it’s a bit over, a bit over. Have you asked Cheng Ge whether he agrees or not……]

Commentator A: [See that scene! See that scene! I believe that for all the ZGDX fans who are either watching the stream or in the audience would feel at ease right now. Not playing the last couple of games hasn’t influenced Smiling’s condition at all. She’s still the same Smiling that people know, with the same aggressiveness and decisiveness!]

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 145 Part 4

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 145 Part 4

An hour later, they arrived at the arena.

They handed over their equipment for inspection, did their makeup, and waited at the backstage for the match to begin-- --Tong Yao hadn’t been playing for a while and was a little apprehensive about it. Instead of being chatty like she was on the way to the arena, she had become rather quiet.

Lu Sicheng noticed it but didn’t say anything. Right before going on stage, he held Tong Yao’s hand: “Nervous?”

Tong Yao turned to give him a look with a taut face: “En.”

Lu Sicheng: “Are your legs wobbly?”

Tong Yao: “Huh?”

Lu Sicheng: “I’ll carry you up?”

Tong Yao: “......”

Overlooking his ridicule and his slightly curved up lips, Tong Yao quietly pulled her hand away. As if she was truly worried about him carrying her to the stage by force, Tong Yao quickly jumped up on the stage and dashed to her own seat to sit down……

Once she sat down, she patted her own chest and subconsciously looked up to glance at the audience. She soon found right in front of her-- --exactly at her eye level, there was a huge fluorescence supporting placard with “Go Smiling, in : )’s name” on it…… Fans lifted the sign high up in the air. Tong Yao squinted her eyes and could see under the black sign the clear smiles on the face of those girls and their eyes which reflected the lights on the stage.

They seemed to have stars in their eyes.

It was just like the promise they had given her: No matter where you are, playing or not, we’ll always be there.

Tong Yao looked calm but she could feel her heart pumping inside her chest…… She looked down at the keyboard in front of her, put on her headphones, and was ready for the ban & pick phase of the first round of match of the day.

She didn’t even notice when she had calmed down. When she listened to the discussion among her teammates and Ming god in her headphones, she was tranquil as she had ever been……

“..................The other side took Leblanc, ouch, shit. This Xiao Hua’s really something. Tong Yao, the other side’s Xiao Hua’s challenging you, see it? How can you stand it?”

“Syndra is available. Take Syndra then. I haven’t even noticed that the other side didn’t ban Leblanc……”

“Yang god has taken Kindred. Very well, he’s afraid of getting killed. Which horoscope is this then?”

“......Can you put aside the horoscope for the moment first, captain? It’s not the time to get jealous. Can Syndra go against Leblanc?”

“She can if her id is Smiling.”

“Wow, that's some big talk. Tong Yao, you’re going to be forced by our captain to take the risk. Let’s sing ‘Song of tough guys’ together, one, two, three, go-- --Big river goes to the east……”

“All the stars in the sky follow the Big Dipper!”

“You guys want to be on the best quotes montage again.”

While the lively discussion was heard in the players’ headphones, the ban & pick phase had ended-- --

ZGDX’s picks: Rumble, Rek’Sai, Syndra, Sivir, Thresh.

CK’s picks: Gnar, Kindred, Leblanc, Lucian, Alistar

Both sides entered Summoner’s Rift.

The commentators were also in their places. Thundering cheers filled the arena!

The semi-finals of the 2016 League of Legends summer competition had officially started, with ZGDX vs CK.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 102 Part 6

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 102 Part 6
Extra: Shen Zemu and Yang Yin

Since there were several teams looking to work with Yang Yin next season, Yang Yin made the teams bid against each other. Eventually, she decided on one team and the bet-on agreement she signed with the team was 1.5 million. She would start working for that team after Chinese New Year.

Yang Yin told Shen Zemu: “A raise of half of a million in half a year, my income could catch up with the rising housing prices now. Are you convinced of my ability?”

“I’m convinced.” Shen Zemu was very supportive.

The day after she signed the agreement was January 12th, which happened to be Shen Zemu’s birthday.

Yang Yin had been in a very good mood lately and cooked enough dishes to fill the entire table that night to celebrate his birthday. She even cooked the birthday noodles herself.[1]

Since she was overjoyed and had a little too much to drink, she couldn’t help being attracted to him and taking him to bed.

When she led Shen Zemu onto her bed, she actually felt a little guilty, like she had forced him to do it. Then she found out that Shen Zemu had come prepared, with condoms.

Yang Yin couldn’t believe it: “I always thought you’re a serious man.”

It didn’t go smoothly for them since it was the first time for both of them. Shen Zemu accidentally hurt Yang Yin and Yang Yin said he “needs to hone his technique.”

Later on, Shen Zemu applied his talent in studying to improve his technique……

In any case, in the present, Yang Yin woke up the morning after feeling somewhat sluggish.

The curtain was closed tightly and the room was a little dim but it was quite warm. Shen Zemu was still asleep. Yang Yin was lying against his chest. She listened to his heartbeat for a while and felt quite happy, but also somewhat unreal.

People always worry about losing what they have. Sometimes Yang Yin would be afraid that all of this turned out to be just a dream. Once she woke up from the dream, there wouldn’t be anything left.

She got up to put on her clothes and got off the bed.

They had overindulged a bit last night and she still walked a little funny as of now.

Yang Yin quietly walked out of the bedroom to go into the kitchen, to cook breakfast. She didn’t know what to make, but decided to pan fry a couple of eggs first.

She kept her eyes on the eggs and was humming a song at the same time. Suddenly, she was embraced by someone.

Shen Zemu hugged her from behind, with his arms circling around her waist and his chin resting on her shoulder.

“You got up?” Yang Yin thought about what had happened between them last night and blushed a little.

“En.” Shen Zemu released the hold on her and said: “Go back and lie down.”

“No need. I’m cooking breakfast for you. What do you want to eat?”

Seeing that she wasn’t listening to him, Shen Zemu simply picked her up and brought her back to her bed, putting her under the blanket: “Stay here.”

Yang Yin struggled to sit up: “I’m not sick or anything.”

He held her shoulder down with one hand to stop her from struggling. Shen Zemu looked down at her with a very serious look on his face: “I’ll work on my technique.” Then, overlooking the embarrassed expression on Yang Yin’s face, he simply walked away to go to the kitchen to finish cooking breakfast.

He brought the breakfast to the bed for her.

Shen Zemu had cooked egg fried rice, egg drop soup in addition to the fried eggs Yang Yin cooked earlier. They all tasted quite good, though she couldn’t figure out why they were all egg dishes.

Shen Zemu sat on the edge of the bed, watching her eat breakfast. He said: “My school is over on the 18th.”

“Oh.” Yang Yin’s good mood suddenly disappeared. Shen Zemu was going to have his winter break and that meant they had to separate for a while. She cast her head down and said: “En…… I’ll keep doing my homework.”

The corner of Shen Zemu’s mouth curved a little and said: “Come home with me.”

Yang Yin abruptly looked up at him. There was a grain of rice hanging on her lips. She looked a little funny with the shocked expression on her face.

“Come home with me.” Shen Zemu repeated.

“Why?”

“You want to be here by yourself for the New Year?”

“No, I…… I just feel, won’t it be a bit too sudden? Do your parents know about it?”

“I’ve already told them about us.”

Yang Yin was even more worried. She hadn’t forgotten the gap between him and her. She figured that Shen Zemu’s parents shouldn’t be too happy about her……

Shen Zemu could tell what she was thinking from the expressions on her face. He rubbed her hair and gently said: “Don’t you worry. My family respects my decisions.”

“Then, will there be anyone there to give me a hard time? I’m just asking so I’ll be prepared for it.”

“With me there, I won’t let anyone give you a hard time.”

Tears fell from Yang Yin’s eyes, dripping onto the back of her hand.

Shen Zemu thought she cried because she was too scared. He got closer to hold her shoulder: “Don’t cry. Trust me.”

“Shen Zemu, I just feel that I’m so very lucky.”

Shen Zemu smiled: “I’m the lucky one here”

Meeting you in this vast world of people is the luckiest thing to have happened in my life.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 145 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 145 Part 3

Lu Sicheng went upstairs and knocked on Tong Yao’s door: “Open the door.”

About a minute later, the door was opened ajar from the inside. Lu Sicheng turned sideways and disappeared behind the slightly open door.

Then the door closed.

Everyone at base: “.......................................”

Just like that, the night before the semi-finals, which their captain claimed was more important than the finals, ZGDX’s base was filled with a cheerful and light-hearted mood.

……

Lu Sicheng could be cunning, even manipulative at times. The only good quality about him was probably the fact that he always kept his word-- --That night he didn’t do anything as he had said. He climbed onto Tong Yao’s bed, chatted with her for a while, and then went to sleep with her in his arms.

Tong Yao hadn’t slept so comfortably for a while now. Ever since they went to bed together, it felt like she was passing out most of the time rather than falling asleep every night.

She had a very good night of sleep and felt quite refreshed the next morning.

…...However, when she was changing into her uniform, she found a suspicious red mark on her neck under her ear in an inconspicuous spot. She figured Lu Sicheng had given it to her while she was still asleep-- --When Tong Yao tried to cover it up with concealer, Lu Sicheng stopped her by holding her hand: “A mosquito bite. Why do you need to cover it?”

Tong Yao: “You think I’m stupid?”

Lu Sicheng: “It’s not right to cover it up so as to make it more conspicuous.”

Tong Yao: “What’s that?”

Lu Sicheng: “Or are you afraid of it being seen by CK’s jungler?”

Tong Yao put down the concealer, then realized that Lu Sicheng had been jealous all through the night and was holding grudges like a Scorpio…… She asked while looking at the man behind her: “Are you a Scorpio?”

Lu Sicheng paused in the middle of putting on his uniform: “How do you know?”

Tong Yao lifted the corner of her lips: “You act like a Scorpio.”

“You young girls always like to read this boring stuff.” Lu Sicheng continued to put on his uniform: “If it really goes like that, then the whole world only has 12 types of people?”

“Well at least with you we know that one of the twelve exists.”

Tong Yao stood up and walked down to the first floor with her captain while arguing with him about astrology. She took a few bites of the breakfast prepared by the housekeeper. Then she got on the bus with her teammates, while still arguing with Lu Sicheng-- --

“If you’re right, then a man who’s neat and good looking like me could be a Virgo as well.”

“Perhaps your ascendant sign is Virgo? You know what, when you’re fussy, nagging, and acting annoyingly, you do look like a Virgo. When is your birthday? Let me figure it out for you.”

“......You’ll get into trouble smearing Virgos like this.”

“I’m praising you. Did I give a retort when you said you’re good looking?”

While still arguing, the two of them walked to the back of the bus to sit down on the last row. Little Fatty turned to take a look at them and asked: “Is this what being in love is like?”

Tong Yao was a little taken aback. She slapped Lu Sicheng's hand as it was reaching over to touch her face and asked Little Fatty: “What?”

Little Fatty: “Saying a whole bunch of meaningless nonsense while saying it so enthusiastically.”

Tong Yao: “Yes.”

Little Fatty therefore put an equation mark in between “in love” and “wasting life.”

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 102 Part 5

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 102 Part 5
Extra: Shen Zemu and Yang Yin

Happiness had come too suddenly. Yang Yin felt like she was in a dream when she woke up the next morning. Only when she looked in the mirror and saw the crack on her lower lip which hadn’t healed overnight…… Then she began to return to reality.

She had really become his girlfriend now.

She didn’t even know how to celebrate it.

From that moment on, Yang Yin felt like she had been floating in the air. The whole world was filled with peach flower petals floating in the air. She had had the same kind of hallucination when she had accidentally eaten some poisonous mushrooms.

Shen Zemu sent a message: What are we going to do today?

Yang Yin: Don’t know, what do you want to do?

Shen Zemu: Have you done your homework?

Yang Yin: =  =

She thought it was quite inhumane for him to ask her that at a moment like this…… All he thought about was her homework! T ^ T

But on the other hand, she did have homework to do still, which was the sad part.

Ever since Yang Yin was off work and had more time on her hand, the homework from Teacher Shen had increased, he became more demanding, and he was more strict with her as well. Therefore, it wasn’t all her fault that she hadn’t finished her assignments yet.

Yang Yin was also a person who was very demanding of herself. She thought Shen Zemu was right that she shouldn’t indulge herself in momentary pleasures, she should chase after a higher goal. She decided not to go on a date today. She would stay at home and do her homework.

Shen Zemu: I have things to take care of today. I’ll go over later.

Yang Yin: En, en. You go ahead.

The thing that Shen Zemu needed to take care of actually had something to do with Yang Yin.

He had gone online to search what girls liked. He found out that most girls seemed to like lipstick a lot. Though he couldn’t tell the difference between all the different shades of lipstick, women seemed to be able to distinguish them.

He followed the suggestion of some beauty bloggers to go to the cosmetics counter of a particular brand and asked for a particular collection of lipsticks.

The salesperson at the counter asked him which shade he wanted.

“I want all of them.”

The sales explained: “Some of the shades are out of stock.”

Shen Zemu went to three different places before he could finally buy all the shades.

He brought the gift over to Yang Yin’s place. Yang Yin had already finished her homework and was studying at the moment.

Shen Zemu put all the things he bought in front of her without saying a word.

Yang Yin opened the bag and was very moved by the gesture. For a man like Shen Zemu, she felt that it must be true love for him to be able to do all this for her.

She took out a lipstick to try it on. Afterwards, she asked Shen Zemu: “Does this look good?”

“En.”

Yang Yin was a little excited and couldn’t stop herself from kissing him.

After the kiss, Shen Zemu took out another lipstick and handed it over to her: “Try this one as well.”

Yang Yin: “......”

-- --

After the new year, Yang Yin had contacted several teams to decide which team she would be working for the next season. She had asked for Shen Zemu’s opinion, but Shen Zemu told her to make the decision herself.

“Since you let me decide myself, then there’s one thing that you have to do as I say.” Yang Yin said.

“What?”

“Next time, when I get the money, we’ll split it half and half. I can’t let you work so hard for nothing.”

Shen Zemu hadn’t really worried about money in his life but he knew that Yang Yin was different in this regard. The reason she wanted to make clear as to who gets what was because she had suffered from a lack of money when she was growing up. He felt for her when thinking about it.

He wouldn’t try to change her view on money. All he could do was to respect her wish. He nodded and said: “Alright.” After giving it some more thought, he added: “You’ll handle the money for me.”

“Why do you want me to handle your money?”

“Figure it out yourself.”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 145 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 145 Part 2

“I’m calculating the importance of tomorrow’s match-- --First place in the spring competition gets 300 points, second place 200 points. First place in the summer competition would automatically move on to the S series finals, second place gets 300 points and third place 200 points. That means if we beat CK to go to the summer finals, even in the worst scenario where we lose to YQCB and get 300 points from being in second place, with the points from the spring, we’ll have 500 points in total. Also, if CK defeats Huawei again, CK would be third place with 200 points, then we’ll have the same total accumulated points as CK. We’ll have to play a tiebreaker game to decide which team has the greatest point total for the year. Then, that means we’ll have one more chance to fight for the slot than simply playing the stepladder tournament. But if we lose tomorrow’s match, we can only hope that CK defeats YQCB to be first place and we can qualify for the S series world finals by having the highest amount of points in the year. Otherwise, we’ll have to do the stepladder round……”

Tong Yao, holding her milk glass, listened earnestly. She looked up and saw Little Fatty also had put down his mouse and looked at Lu Sicheng with a confused look on his face…… Tong Yao waved her hand: “That means we have to win tomorrow, right?”

Lu Sicheng: “I don’t like to hand over the opportunity that we can decide our own fate to the hands of other teams.”

Tong Yao: “Oh.” She sat down on her chair. Lu Sicheng asked: “Do you understand what I just said?”

Tong Yao honestly said: “No.”

Lu Sicheng: “......”

Tong Yao looked at the time after sitting down, it was already 10:30 pm. She decided not to play ranked games. She flipped through her notes and reviewed the videos of CK’s recent games. She studied the usual route Yang god takes to go to the jungle……

Lu Sicheng stretched his neck over to see what she was watching. Tong Yao’s eyes were fixed on the mini map on the lower right corner on the screen and her notebook was filled with notes such as “x minute x second, get wolf,” “x minute x second, get the four raptors''. Lu Sicheng slightly frowned and dropped the folder that he was reading down. He reached over to pinch Tong Yao’s chin and turned her face towards him: “What are you watching?”

“Replays of games.” Tong Yao’s eyeballs moved to the edges of her eye sockets to try to keep looking at the computer screen. She used her hand to pat Lu Sicheng’s hand: “Let go, I can’t see……”

Lu Sicheng released his hand and looked at Tong Yao who had already pasted her eyes to the computer screen again: “Is it that good?”

“It’s pretty good. This match was between CK and Red Arrow. Yang god dominated their jungle in this game. In other words, this was a match won in the jungle. So I want to see how Yang god played……”

“......”

Lu Sicheng raised his eyebrows.

Anytime Yang god appeared in a sentence more than once, he found it quite irritating to his ears. In addition, the way Tong Yao wholeheartedly praised Yang god, though unintentional, made him feel even more…... annoyed.

Before he realized what he had done, he had already reached over to shut off Tong Yao’s computer. Tong Yao was stunned to see her computer screen go dark before she realized what had happened. She hissed and turned to stare at the man next to her-- --However, Lu Sicheng had already turned his head back to look at the folder like nothing had happened. He could feel her stare angrily at him, but he remained calm and didn’t look up. He reached over to touch her head: “Go back to your room and sleep early. I’ll be right over after I finish reading this.”

Tong Yao was surprised: “We have a match tomorrow and you’re still coming to my room to sleep?”

Lu Sicheng wrote and drew on the folder: “I can’t?”

Tong Yao moved her lips and stressed: “.......................We have a match tomorrow. You said it yourself that you don’t like to hand over our fate to the hands of other teams……”

Lu Sicheng gave her a glance: “I won’t do anything tonight.”

Tong Yao thought about it then said: “Oh.” She sat back down to flip through her little notebook. Little Fatty, still with a confused look on his face, blinked and asked: “What does it mean that you won’t do anything tonight? Then what have you been doing usually?”

Old Cat lazily gave Little Fatty a look: “Those bashful things between adults.”

Little Fatty: “......”

An awkward silence lasted for five seconds.

Suddenly, Lu Sicheng’s tittering broke the silence. Tong Yao abruptly stood up from her chair, annoyingly used her notebook to slap on Lu Sicheng’s head, then she dashed upstairs with a red face and slammed the door shut with a loud thud-- --The base was momentarily dead quiet. Everyone turned to look at Lu Sicheng. He calmly picked up Tong Yao’s half drunk milk glass and drank the rest of the milk in one gulp. Then he also stood up, went to the kitchen, washed the glass, put the glass on the rack, turned to all the other singles at the base, and raised the folder in his hand while saying: “I’ll go sleep. You guys all go to bed early.”

Afterwards, he simply swaggered off.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 145 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 145 Part 1

After the quarterfinals concluded, it was decided that ZGDX would go up against CK in the semi-finals and that YQCB would go up against Red Arrow-- --Though Red Arrow was a strong team, they had missed their chance to go to the world tournament for several years now. Besides, YQCB wasn’t the same team that had played in the spring competition, nowadays they could even put some pressure on ZGDX…… Therefore, most people believed that to YQCB, Red Arrow shouldn’t be a big concern for them. They focused their discussion on the match between ZGDX and CK.

-- --In the minds of most viewers, the match between ZGDX and CK would be worth more to watch.

First, all of CK’s players had worked together more than two seasons so far and all five positions were not weak. At bot, though their ad, Butterfly, was a little less effective than Lu Sicheng, about 3 to 7, if they could pick some more powerful champions for their bot lane, they wouldn’t necessarily lose to ZGDX’s bot lane.

At mid lane, it would be Tong Yao against Xiao Hua. Both of them excelled with assassin type of champions. Xiao Hua’s champion pool wasn’t too deep. In this regard, Tong Yao, who had a wider champion pool, was in a more advantageous position.

At top lane, CK’s Come Good Luck was good at playing tank champions and handled his champions masterfully. ZGDX’s Old Cat on the other hand could play most champions and played them all quite well. He might not carry the game but ZGDX’s top would rarely crash in the game unless something like the fight Old Cat and Old K had recently happened again, where they even fought each other in game…… Sometimes, both tops would take tank champions and engage in a fight for a minute but both would still have half of their health left.

As for the junglers, in Tong Yao’s mind, she believed that Old K compared to Yang god was a 10 to 0. However, most people thought it was 5 to 5 or even 4 to 6. Yang god was more aggressive when invading the jungle……

The major league was famous for having a lot of fights in a game. The style on the China server was “to hell with mechanics, let’s fight.”

After the analysis, the fans were a little worried: If ZGDX’s duo at bot wasn’t in a good condition, was unable to suppress CK’s Butterfly and Old Wang, and their mid was the less aggressive Lu Yue, then they worried that in the first twenty minutes of the match, neither side would go across the river and there wouldn’t be any kills.

………………………………………..That didn’t sound good at all.

It wasn’t only the players that liked to get into fights, the audience of the major league games also preferred to watch fights.

In those few days when it was closer to the match, the call for Tong Yao to play the match was mounting. Lu Yue was quite indignant about it and argued with fans on stream everyday…… The night before the match, Tong Yao carried a glass of milk when walked past Lu Yue and heard him bickering with the fans on stream-- --

“It’s hard to say whether or not I’ll be in tomorrow’s game…… What do you mean that I shouldn’t? I also know how to play carry champions. Didn’t you see me play Sol last week? And you remember that Twisted Fate? The last card of the major league……”

[? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ]

[? ? ? The major league’s last card? Shouldn’t it be Smiling?]

[......Steal someone’s starting position, now you want to steal her title as well? 66666 esports circle’s bitch, Lu.]

[Cheng Ge said you were forced to take Sol. How can you boast about it now?]

“So what if I steal her title? She even steals my brother, my dear brother whom I grew up with for 19 years!” Lu Yue slapped down on the desk. His voice was loud enough for the entire base to hear. “Now on the official Weibo site there’s cries for that shorty to go on to play the match. Where are my fans? ! Why don’t you go have a fight with them and insist that I’m better than that shorty? …...You just watch me get bullied by that shorty’s fans. And you still claim to be my fans, go away, all of you. I don’t believe you!”

Tong Yao: “......I don’t have fans.”

Lu Yue: “I don’t either. The mids of ZGDX don’t have fans.”

Tong Yao: “......”

Tong Yao brought the milk back to her own seat. Lu Sicheng was sitting at his place looking down on some numbers. Tong Yao put the milk under Lu Sicheng’s nose. Lu Sicheng sniffed and said without looking up: “Take it away. Drink it yourself. I won’t stop you from your bright future of growing taller to 160 cm.”

Tong Yao took her hand back. Seeing Lu Sicheng was calculating something on some scratch paper, she took a sip of the milk: “What are you calculating?”

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 144 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 144 Part 3

“Watching a match?”

“Yeah.”

“Which one?”

“Yang god and Li Huanshuo.”

“En.” Lu Sicheng looked up at the computer screen. Indeed, it was CK and Huawei in a heated battle. He asked after a short pause: “Is it good?”

Tong Yao laughed: “Not as good as you.”

Tong Yao replied offhandedly. Lu Sicheng’s eyeballs moved around and only briefly said: “En.” It seemed that he wasn’t touched by her answer…… Though he wasn’t very concerned about this match, he didn’t walk away but stood right behind Tong Yao…… Tong Yao didn’t ask him to go either. One of them watched the match standing behind the chair and the other sat on the chair looking upwards at the person who was behind the chair.

After a long while, when Tong Yao’s neck felt like it was going to break at any moment, Lu Sicheng made a move. He used his big hand to pinch Tong Yao’s chin and pulled it backwards a little, then he bent over to cover her lips with his-- --Tong Yao first felt her view become blocked, then her lips were touched by something cold and soft. She breathed in the smell of bath soap from his body. The fingers on her knees moved a little.

But she didn’t push him away.

After a sigh, she opened her mouth to let his tongue go in.

It wasn’t exactly an erotic scene, rather it looked something natural that they were used to. But when the scene was broadcasted through the camera……

No one was paying attention to the match anymore.

The viewers became quite excited-- --Ahhhhhh, indeed, this stream is much better than the official stream, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

The moderator of the stream also got excited-- --He was so excited that he turned off the stream with the stated reason “inappropriate content.”

Lu Sicheng released his hold on Tong Yao and straightened up. His brown pupils glanced over the dark screen on her computer which was only showing a lot of “? ? ? ? ?” from the viewers. His big hand touched her lips which was slightly red from his kiss and a faint smile was hidden behind his dark brown pupils: “Your stream was just banned by the moderator.”

Tong Yao took a look at the bullet comments and gave him a hard stare. Then she stood up to look for Xiao Rui who, as the public relation guy, would try to get her stream back…… Lu Sicheng sat down on his own seat, turned on his stream, and changed the name of the channel to “Commentary with the family in tow to kill some stream hours.” He then called Tong Yao to come over so the two of them could continue watching the match while streaming at the same time……

The audience wasn’t surprised to see Tong Yao appear in Lu Sicheng’s stream and they had no time to talk to her either. They were all busy at the moment to tell on Tong Yao, for things like “Smiling said Li Huanshuo is a great jungler, her motive is execrable.” “Your wife claimed that it feels good to shake hands with her ex-boyfriend and wants to do it again.” “Tong Yao said your commanding style is senile, lacking venturesome spirit.” “Give us back a normal commentary, not the kind of commentary saying that the player lost the baron simply because he’s not good looking” -- --

Lu Sicheng, with one arm circled around Tong Yao’s shoulder, looked over all the bullet comments without any expression on his face.

Before he could say anything, Tong Yao who was leaning against him yawned and said plainly: “I didn’t say those things. They slander me.”

Lu Sicheng looked down at her. From his angle, he could see her fair cheek, slightly quivering eyelashes, and the faint bluish color under her eyes obviously from “overworking” last night…...His index finger touched the area under her eye and said: “En.” Then he looked up at the camera and warned those viewers who were posting bullet comments: “She said she hadn’t said those things. You guys better watch out.”

The bullet comments paused for about a second.

It perfectly showed how the audience was dumbfounded by Lu Sicheng’s warning.

Then a wave of comments totally occupied his screen saying [Tong Daji].

……

The final result of the matches between CK and Huawei was 3 to 1 with CK as the winner. CK would be moving on to the semi finals and went against ZGDX the following week to fight to qualify for the finals of 2016 major league summer competition-- --

Urh, though that wasn’t the point for the viewers, it seemed.

Those Sweet Times - Chapter 102 Part 4

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

Those Sweet Times
Chapter 102 Part 4
Extra: Shen Zemu and Yang Yin

It was a box about the size of his palm, wrapped in dark blue wrapping paper. There was an even darker colored bow on top of the box.

“What is it?” He asked.

“Open it.”

Shen Zemu opened the box. There was a Dupont lighter inside, with a pale gold metal frame. It was rectangular with clean and simple lines with a sapphire blue lacquer finish which was as deep as the night.

Shen Zemu quietly looked at the lighter. Yang Yin said with a smile: “Happy New Year, Shen Zemu.”

“Thanks.” He raised his eyes to look at her and his eyes stayed on her face.

Yang Yin was a little bashful under his gaze. She pointed at the lighter in his hand: “Try it.”

“Alright.”

Shen Zemu pulled out a cigarette and put it in between his lips. Yang Yin was eager to give it a try: “Let me light it up for you?”

Shen Zemu bent forward a bit with the cigarette in his mouth.

Yang Yin spun the lighter’s spark wheel to get a small bright yellow flame dancing on top of the lighter. Snowflakes fluttered around them like moths, the ones that got close to the flame melted away from the heat.

Yang Yin carefully lifted the lighter up to him.

Shen Zemu’s eyes still rested on her face. When the flame came out, there were two soft and bright rays of light reflected in her smiling eyes.

Behind her, snow flew by and there were sparks in her eyes.

Yang Yin lit the cigarette and felt a special sense of accomplishment for some reason.

Shen Zemu straightened up, took the cigarette from his mouth with his index and middle fingers, and lightly blew out bluish grey smoke. The smoke circled in the air and quickly disappeared in the snow.

Yang Yin felt the way he smoked looked so sexy. She opened her palm to him: “Give me one.”

Shen Zemu didn’t move, but slightly raised his eyebrows and asked: “You know how to?”

“I never smoked before, but I want to try.”

“Oh.”

He moved his arm a bit. Yang Yin thought he was going to take out another cigarette. But all of a sudden, he simply brought the lighted cigarette in his hand over to her mouth.

“Try it.”

Yang Yin’s heart started racing. He had just smoked from this cigarette and now it was in her mouth. She couldn’t help but feel that he was being a bit flirty! For a moment, she even started to wonder whether it was because she had an indecent mind that everything looked like it was flirting to her?

She had the cigarette in her mouth but didn’t have the courage to do anything.  She looked transfixed with wide eyes. Shen Zemu took the cigarette away from her and put it back into his mouth again.

Then, with the cigarette in his mouth, he lowered his head to look at her with the spiralled smoke between them.

Through the smoke, Yang Yin could still see that his eyes were shining bright, so bright that it was scorching, and she froze under his gaze.

Behind him, it was falling snow and there was a flicker in his eyes

Yang Yin was so nervous that she almost couldn’t breath. She blinked at him: “W-what?”

Holding the cigarette with his fingers, Shen Zemu suddenly reached forward, wrapped his arm around her, then lowered his head to kiss her.

That was what he meant.

It felt like fireworks had exploded inside Yang Yin’s head.

She hugged him back and raised her head up to meet his kiss. The two of them kissed in the icy snow for a long time.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 144 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 144 Part 2

“What I said above doesn’t represent the official position of ZGDX. Those big brothers on Tieba, don’t you spread rumors and get my pay deducted.”

Tong Yao sounded quite at ease while speaking. She was like an old hand, “I know what you are up to.” Compared to half a year ago when she just entered this circle and was always cautious of what she said, she was a totally different person now. Now she could roll with the punches.

She switched back to the match on her stream as she spoke. In addition to continuing to mock Jiang Yang and Li Huanshuo, occasionally she would also explain, in a more serious attitude, to the audience the more popular item builds nowadays and the reasons each player picked a certain item. She would discuss what other items they might pick in different situations…… But the composition of the audience at the time was somewhat different from those who asked her to do commentary more earnestly earlier. Her viewership had increased tremendously, but those who joined later were more interested in her talking about her personal love-hate relationships than the match itself-- --

“Which team is ZGDX more interested in playing against in the playoffs?” Tong Yao thought about it: “There’s not much of a difference to us. It’s just that we’d shake hands with different people…… Speaking of shaking hands, I’ve held Yang god’s hand once as the ex-girlfriend after I’ve broken up with him. That was during the opening day of the summer competition. It was quite a harmonious and friendly occasion.”

[6666666666]

[Cheng Ge hasn’t woken up yet, right? See how cocky you are, tsk, tsk, tsk.]

[A basket full of nonsense.]

[Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, to hell with harmonious and friendly. Can’t you keep your mouth shut, hahahahahaha]

[Where’s your Ashe? Someone here is getting ahead of herself.]

[If Yang god heard your commentary, he’d probably be so pissed that he won’t even want to play the match.]

[Boasts, boasts. Let’s post on Tieba with the title-- --ZGDX substitute mid boasted: doesn’t matter which team we play against, we’ll win anyway.]

“What substitute mid, that bullet comment, you better speak nicely.” Tong Yao held her legs and used her finger, which was without the bandage now, to tap her knee. The deep and long slash was now only a light pinkish shallow mark on her finger. “I’ve already said I’m the trump card, not substitute. The secret weapon, you understand, the secret weapon! Uh, Lu, my brother-in-law, is truly the substitute……”

While Tong Yao was chitchatting, CK had already pushed to Huawei’s base. CK had taken Baron. Li Huanshuo had tried to contest it but wasn’t successful-- --It seemed that Yang god’s 1 to Li Huanshuo’s 9 in the jungle wasn’t true.

Tong Yao watched the game absent-mindedly and didn’t feel like her words had been thrown back at her face. She was still ridiculing occasionally and didn’t seem to take the match too seriously-- --Only some mindful viewers would discover that she would actually sit up from time to time and move her hands from her knees. At certain moments of the match, she would grab the pen and quickly jot down some data on something which the viewers couldn’t see……

During the twenty some minutes match, she had filled up most of a sheet with her messy handwriting with random numbers and scrawled words-- --As she was jotting down the current stats of the match and the creep score of the adc and apc of both teams, Tong Yao heard footsteps behind her.

From the corner of her eye, she noticed that the bullet comments had gotten even more lively.

Tong Yao threw down her pen and glanced at the screen. The bullet comments were the same about [Ashe’s here] [King of hell is here] [Your master is here, time to kneel and greet]......

Tong Yao leaned back into the chair and looked up at the man who was standing behind her-- --Lu Sicheng had just woken up and taken a shower. His hair was still dripping wet, there was a black towel on top of his head. He noticed that Tong Yao was looking at him and lowered his head. A drop of water fell on Tong Yao’s forehead.

Tong Yao shrank her neck.

The man behind her very naturally lifted his hand to wipe the bead of water off her face.

Chapter 102 Part 3
Extra: Shen Zemu and Yang Yin

Deng Wenbo, to tell the truth, didn’t really care whether his team could survive or not. But looking at Yang Yin’s face, he knew there wasn’t any possibility for her to stay. He somewhat depressingly said: “I’m so regretful now.”

“What? I’ve brought the team back up and now you’re regretful? Haven’t you seen how they wrote about you? All compliments. Boss, you’ve earned big, alright? Now even if you don’t want the team, you can sell it without any problem. If you’re really interested in selling it, I can even find a buyer for you.”

“I’m not talking about that.”

“Then what is it?”

“I regret knowing you. If I didn’t know you, I wouldn’t feel like how I feel now, feeling bad everyday. I feel bad if I don’t see you, but I still feel bad when I do see you.”

Yang Yin was stunned at those words. She couldn’t really see her boss being such a melancholic person.

Just as she didn’t know how to respond to her boss, Shen Zemu, with a box in arms, touched Deng Wenbo: “Excuse me.” As he was speaking, he didn’t wait for Deng Wenbo’s response and walked by directly between Yang Yin and Deng Wenbo.

Yang Yin took the chance to say: “Boss, I have to go pack my things.” Then she ran away.

Deng Wenbo didn’t even get a hug from her.

……

Yang Yin planned to move all of her stuff back to her own place. She had bought the place two years ago. Since it was a small unit, the price tag wasn’t too expensive but she was still paying a mortgage every month.

The route from the club to her place would pass by Shen Zemu’s school. The two of them took the same taxi, packed with all their things.

When Shen Zemu arrived at his school, he told the driver when he got off: “Wait here for me.”

The driver asked: “You’re coming back?”

“En.”

Yang Yin didn’t think it was necessary: “You don’t have to. I can handle it myself.”

“It’s alright. I have time.”

Shen Zemu didn’t have a lot of stuff and had put everything in a cardboard box. He dropped off the box at his dorm, then went back to help Yang Yin move.

By the time they arrived at Yang Yin’s place, it was already evening. Yang Yin had a lot more stuff to move. Shen Zemu ran up and down several times and was all sweaty.

The driver told Yang Yin: “Your boyfriend’s really nice.”

Yang Yin was secretly quite happy to hear that, but she still had to explain: “He’s not my boyfriend.”

“He’s not? Too bad. Oh, my daughter is about the same age as him. I want to introduce……”

“Don’t you do that.” Yang Yin said.

After they moved everything in and sent the driver away, Yang Yin asked Shen Zemu: “What do you want to eat for dinner?”

“Whatever.”

“Then I’ll cook for you? I can really cook.”

The look in Shen Zemu’s eyes was warm: “Just cook something, not too much.”

Yang Yin easily cooked four dishes and one soup.

After dinner it was starting to get late into the night and Shen Zemu felt it wasn’t proper to stay at a single girl’s place for too long. Shen Zemu helped Yang Yin wash the dishes, then he said goodnight.

Yang Yin stood on the balcony watching Shen Zemu leave. The snow was getting heavier outside. Shen Zemu walked alone in the snow, suddenly as if he had sensed something, he turned to look at her.

Yang Yin thought about something: “Shen Zemu! Wait there for me!”

Shen Zemu stood in the snow waiting for her to come out. Yang Yin ran out and saw a thin layer of snow flakes had accumulated on his shoulder.

“Here, for you.” She handed him a box.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 144 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 144 Part 1

The rankings of the 2016 League of Legends major league competition at the China Region round of robin ended like so--

A group: first, ZGDX; second, Red Arrow; third, Huawei; fourth, King.

B group: first, YQCB; second, CK; third, Alpha; fourth, Qing Dynasty.

The team with the highest accumulated points in each group would be in the semi finals in the playoffs.

In Tong Yao’s view, this arrangement meant that while the third and fourth ranked teams were fighting head to head to get the chance to go against the second ranked team, the first ranked team of the group could sit tight with crossed legs at base eating melon seed. When the winning team of the third and fourth went against the second ranked team to fight for the slot in the semi-finals, the first ranked team of the group…… well, could still sit at base with crossed legs eating melon seeds.

Tong Yao was just doing that, eating melon seeds, while streaming with millions of viewers watching the match between CK and Huawei for a place in semi-finals. The winner of this match would go against ZGDX to decide which team would move onto the summer season’s finals.

Compared to the official commentators, a professional player’s commentary on a match was usually even more professional and detailed-- --At least, that was the reason why most viewers had come to watch the playoff match on her stream. About 20 minutes into the match, the viewers found that the commentator that was eating melon seeds in front of the computer was actually more of an amateur than those amateur commentators…...

For example, around the 20 minute mark, CK had a gold lead and had destroyed all three of Huawei’s outer turrets. Huawei, on the other hand, hadn’t destroyed a single turret yet.

At this time, the Baron spawned. CK’s jungler, ad, and support worked together to invade the upper half of Huawei’s jungle and disappeared from Huawei’s view…… At the same time, Huawei had killed CK’s mid and quickly pushed the outer turret at CK’s mid lane. Then the five players of Huawei as a group went directly to bot. First they took down an ocean drake, then they moved on, getting ready to push CK’s outer turret at bot. They were trying to catch up from their disadvantage in their gold economy by earning it from the turrets.

At this nerve racking moment, the official commentators on the stream were so excited that they couldn’t even speak smoothly. Yet, at the ZGDX base, the cracking sound of melon seeds steadily continued--

“Huawei’s sudden move to go down to bot without a ward at Baron and knowing what CK’s ad, support, and jungler are up to is too rash. After getting a kill, taking down mid’s turret and a drake, they would’ve been better off stopping and going back to protect Baron. If I was CK right now, I would go steal a drake…… It’s dangerous to steal drake. It certainly is dangerous, otherwise, why call it a steal. To successfully steal one, it’s even more exhilarating than to steal the other team’s base. Even if it fails, it’s still quite thrilling and exciting-- --Too bad our captain is an old man who prefers stability. Usually when I say, captain, let’s go steal a drake, he would ask me whether I’m awake.”

The cracking sound continued.

“I know stealing a drake at the 20th minute is too dangerous. But I want to see Yang god’s face suddenly turn pale when the drake gets stolen-- --The point is CK had to start drake in order for me to watch a drake to be stolen from him, xixixixi.”

The cracking sound continued.

“Li Huanshuo’s drake stealing skill is quite good; it’s Li Huanshuo after all.”

The cracking sound continued.

“These two teams? A ratio between 4 to 6, CK being a little stronger. If we don’t count the junglers, then it would be 50-50. Because Yang god and Li Huanshuo at jungle would be 1 to 9; Yang god has lowered the total performance of the team.”

Tong Yao put down the melon seeds in her hand, pat her hands, and clicked to check the bullet comments-- --

[666666666]

[Hahahahahahahahahaha, damn, commentate properly. I request to get off this kind of commentary that's colored by subjective opinions!]

[666666 does Yang god know that you’re mocking him like this?]

[I feel bad for Yang god. Nowadays, young ladies really know how to hold grudges. One misspoken word or one wrong move will be remembered for ten thousand years.]

[I won’t call the police. I’m Cheng Ge!]

Tong Yao laughed.

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 143 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re Beautiful When You Smile
Chapter 143 Part 2

Tong Yao’s streams certainly weren’t as popular as Lu Sicheng’s. But there were still quite a lot of people who had come along for the ride…… She hadn’t been in the lineup for the past few days, there were much less haters on her channel. Most of the questions from bullet comments were asking her when she would be back playing games. Some would say she was the pride of all girls and tell her not to give up. In addition, there were comments like-- --

[Is your hand serious?]

“Not serious. It’s almost healed.” Tong Yao lifted up her finger with the bandage towards the camera and hooked it a couple of times: “See, I can bend it freely. It’s still wrapped with bandages so water won’t get into it……”

[Wifey, ahhhh, the one next to you has hands and feet, why do you cook for him? Let him starve. Doesn’t he know how to order take out!]

[qaq ahhh, I just heard that you would be on for the playoffs, is that true?]

[No matter what, I’ll be waiting for you in the arena. Your support board will always be lit for you!]

Tong Yao was very moved by these messages. There were many crazy people and haters in the esports circle, but most of the time the positive energy brought by the fans was strong enough to erase the dark side…… Tong Yao would look at the comments and private messages on Weibo quite often, even though most of the people were repeating the same words, such as “go for it” or “nice play”, she would still be quite happy for a long time. Her teammates would ask her whether she was tired of seeing the same words over and over, yet she never grew tired of those words.

If she would simply look at those words at their face value, it certainly didn’t mean much.

However, when she imagined how each of those fans was feeling at the time when he or she typed the words “go for it”, then she could easily feel happy, it felt like she had received a lot of blessings……

“What should I use in this match? Aurelion Sol? I can play Sol much better than Lu Yue. What does he know about Sol?...... I heard that during today’s ban & pick, he violently resisted taking Sol as he was told. Maybe the exchange could’ve made it onto the best quotes montage next week-- --You don’t believe I’ll use Aurelion Sol? Very well, reverse psychology. Though I know it’s reverse psychology, I’ll make your wish come true once. Locked in Aurelion Sol. If I carry the game, remember to apologize to me.”

She saw “6666” all over the screen and gifts were flying everywhere. Tong Yao smiled-- --

She was really glad that she didn’t take Xiao Rui as a scam when he had called her late at night to invite her to play professionally half a year ago. She was also thankful for her mother who forced her to come to Shanghai…… She had experienced so many things which she couldn’t even imagine before and so many things were those she had never experienced before.

More amazement over disappointment.

Happiness over sadness.

Overcoming weakness.

Greater rewards than lazing about.

It was just like she had said in her MVP interview last time that: She didn’t regret it.

She hadn’t regretted coming to this circle.

…...

August 7, 2016.

The last round of the best of three matches between CK and Qing Dynasty had ended with CK as the winner. The group round of robin of the 2016 League of Legends major league summer competition had come to the end.

ZGDX, with only one loss, was the top of A group and would be moving on to the playoffs. According to the rules of this year, the top team in each group would move directly onto the quarter finals.

This year there were still 3 slots for the China region teams to go on to the S6 world tournament. One of the slots was reserved for the champion team of the summer season, the second slot was for the team which had accumulated the greatest number of points in the whole year (based on the total points earned during spring and summer competitions), and the last slot would be decided by a stepladder competition among the teams with a higher number of points.

The teams worked hard for a whole year all for that ticket to go to the S6 world tournament.

The eight teams in the playoffs were all gearing up, getting ready to show off their true strength. It was like what the champion Ezreal would say when he gets picked: Time for a true display of skill!

You're Beautiful When You Smile - Chapter 143 Part 1

You’re Beautiful When You Smile

Chapter 143 Part 1

After the interview, Lu Sicheng walked towards the break room for players and saw Tong Yao standing next to the door welcoming him with a glimmer in her eyes. As he walked near, she was like a bird fluttering her wings, flying into his arms. She hugged his waist and looked up at him while giggling: “I’ve never cooked for you.”

“Right.” Lu Sicheng nodded: “The only cooked meal we had was made by me for you, remember?”

Tong Yao remembered. It was that time when Lu Sicheng was having a fever and Tong Yao was having her menstrual cramps. Only the two of them were left at the base. Tong Yao was trying to cook some porridge and he had struggled to go downstairs to grab the pot from Tong Yao to cook it for her…… Even though it was just a pot of porridge, Tong Yao remembered the event quite clearly-- --Because ever since then, whenever she pestered Lu Sicheng to cook porridge again, he would always say “go cook it yourself” or “get some take out”...... Tong Yao then realized that it was once in a blue moon for this man to behave so gentlemanly. She should be satisfied to see it just once in her lifetime.

Tong Yao: “You were so nice to me then.”

Lu Sicheng: “I’m not nice to you now? How many MVP interviews have I done for this season? Everytime, I was either praising you or confessing to you. I live my days around you, everything is for you.”

Tong Yao: “......”

She was silent for a moment. Lu Sicheng could feel her arms around his waist had tightened: “Lu Sicheng, even if I can find someone better than you with a lighted lantern[1], I won’t go looking.”

Lu Sicheng felt like the sun had risen from the west today now that it seemed that Tong Yao had learned to prattle like a lover now.

He was pleased.

He kept his calm face and touched her head. At the same time however, he was thinking that if she had the guts to go looking, then he’d burn down the lantern factories in Yiwu.[2]

But he felt it would sound too childish to say something like that out loud. So he chose to keep his mouth shut and hugged the person hanging on his waist before going back to the break room to join the rest of the team. They went back to the base together-- --Everyone was in a good mood. Little Fatty was humming. Lu Yue was repeatedly watching his brilliant plays and  arguing with Ming god that the MVP of the first round should be him, not his brother. Old K was applying bandages on Old Cat’s wrist. Old Cat told him to do it a little more gently and Old K accused him of being dramatic……

Though the opponent of today’s match wasn’t particularly strong, the team was in high spirits not because they had just won the match, but also because they were finally seeing the result of their training-- --During the first round of the in-group matches, they would be occasionally bothered by Lan’s surprised ganks or Lan’s amazing speed at supporting each other and the speed they were about to carry out a game plan. However, those things didn’t bother them today. They had won the match quite smoothly and won it brilliantly.

Therefore, everyone was quite happy.

That night, the team ordered takeout and ate around the dinner table. Xiao Rui told the A team that it looked very likely that the B team would move up to the major league this year. Everyone was in an even better mood. After dinner, everyone happily went back to their individual training…… Tong Yao didn’t need to play competition matches anytime soon, but the club had higher requirements for her in terms of the time she needed to spend on ranked matches as well as her participation in skirmishes. Therefore, the total time she spent watching TV dramas from the US, UK, and Thailand on the computer grew smaller and smaller. Everyday, she would play games once she turned on the computer until she turned off the computer to go to bed.

Lu Yue: “It’s not easy to sit on the sidelines, substitute.”

Tong Yao: “Shut up. I’m the trump card which we don’t want to show off too early in order to hide our real ability!”

Lu Yue: “Substitute.”

Tong Yao: “Trump card!”

Lu Sicheng was fixing his eyes on his computer screen, but it didn’t reduce his annoyance at the two bickering mids. He asked with a stone face: “May I ask both of you when you two would like to get your graduation certificates from kindergarten?”

Tong Yao replied without thinking: “I won’t be getting it. I’ll be a baby in your eyes for the rest of my life anyway.”

The clicking sound of Lu Sicheng’s mouse suddenly stopped. Then he slowly turned his head to give a meaningful glance at Tong Yao with a shallow smile in his eyes…… Tong Yao blushed from his look but still stubbornly called out: “So what, so what, so what?”

“It’s nothing.” Lu Sicheng took his eyes from her and his lips slightly curved up: “I’m streaming.”

“......”

She went on Lu Sicheng’s stream to take a look. The screen was covered with bullet comments like “66666” “Damn, porn streamer, I’ve reported you” “I know now that you guys haven’t broken up, the next couple” “I only want to watch someone play the game, not a Korean drama” and “Throwing up”......Tong Yao turned off Lu Sicheng’s stream. In the next hour, Tong Yao automatically switched into the mode that “whenever Lu Sicheng streams, I have to be dead quiet.” She quietly played one solid match. Then she thought since she had to play mute, she should be doing a stream as well to get more hours. She then logged on to start her own stream-- --

[1]: Finding something with a “lighted lantern” is a Chinese figure of speech to indicate that something is rare to find.

[2]: Yiwu is a city famous for making small toys and souvenirs.
