You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 71 Side Story 4 Part 1

Xu Huaishi got a lift in a luxury car home. She felt like she was walking on cotton, her whole body was floating on air. But she couldn’t share the experience with her mother and grandma. After dinner, she went back to her study and opened WeChat to tell Ruan Yu what had happened: [His mother even told me to visit their home during Chinese New Year’s break and asked me to help with his studies. Does this mean that I’m going to join a rich family?]

Ruan Yu replied immediately: [Wow, novels really do originate from life. Next time when I’m going to write stories about domineering CEOs, I’ll get ideas from you.]

Xu Huaishi: [But mine probably isn’t a story of a domineering CEO, but rather the story of a domineering mother-in-law……]

She typed the words subconsciously and when she realized what she had sent, she immediately unsent it.

Bah, what mother-in-law!

However, she didn’t unsend the message in time. In no time she received a call from Xu Huaisong.

She was surprised. After picking up the call, she heard her brother: “Xu Huaishi, you have some nerve. Now you have a mother-in-law?”

“Whoa.” She complained: “Ge, how could you peek into my conversation with my sister-in-law?”

“I looked at it fair and square, don’t change the subject.”

“It was just a slip of the hand……”

Xu Huaisong was about to say something, but Ruan Yu took control of the phone: “It’s alright. Go do your homework, don’t mind your brother.”

Xu Huaishi asked: “Ur, he isn’t mad?”

“No.” Ruan Yu jokingly said: “It’s just because he heard about a Reventon and he’s afraid that he couldn’t make enough money to give you a proper dowry.”

Xu Huaishi was speechless. She heard Ruan Yu make “wu wu wu” sounds from the other end. It sounded like someone had covered her mouth.

Xu Huaishi covered her ears and shouted: “Ge, don’t let me listen to something I’m not supposed to. I’m still underage!”

Xu Huaisong took the phone back: “It’s none of your business. It’s going to be finals soon, study well.”

Xu Huaishi started to work on practice sheets after being turned away by her brother till 10:30 that night. She received a WeChat message from Zhao Yi: [Have you gone to sleep yet?]

[Sleeping.]

[......]

[What are those dots for. Get to the point.]

[Memorizing ancient history makes me dizzy.]

[Take some medicine if you’re dizzy. Why are you bothering me?]

[If you have time, record yourself reading through pages three to five of the ancient history study guide and send it to me. I’ll listen to it in bed.]

[As if I have nothing better to do. Are you crazy?]

[It won’t take you more than 20 minutes.]

[Even so, I won’t read it. It’s late at night and my family is sleeping now!]

[Oh.]

Oh?

Xu Huaishi grinned. She flipped her cell phone over and set it aside to charge. Then she turned to go into the bathroom to wash up. After coming out of the bathroom, she laid down on the bed planning to get to sleep. But shortly after, she pulled the blanket off, got out of bed, and picked up her cell phone to start a voice recording.

She took the history study guide with her and hid in the bathroom while sighing. She sat down on the cover of the toilet and lowered her voice to start reading: “Measures: creating the three departments and six ministries system to strengthen centralization; the imperial examination system reformed the government officials selection system…

Xu Huaishi read through one page in one breath, then she paused the recording and went out to pour herself a glass of water to drink. Afterwards, she went back to the bathroom to continue reading the study guide. She read till she was so sleepy that she felt like dozing off. She said to the cell phone in a harsh voice: “I’m exhausted! I’m not going to finish reading the last half page.” She stood up and was about to click the finish key, but she paused as if she remembered something. She was silent for a moment, then softened her voice and said: “Good night.”

She sent the recording to Zhao Yi’s mailbox.

You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 70 Side Story 3 Part 3

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 70 Side Story 3 Part 3

Xu Huaishi jumped onto the back seat of the bike and said: “Why didn’t you say so earlier and kept chatting as if you’re in a melodrama, hurry, hurry!”

“You think this is slow? Sit tight.”

Zhao Yi stepped on the pedal and the bike sped forward. Xu Huaishi lost her balance and tightly hugged Zhao Yi’s waist: “Are you trying to kill me?”

Zhao Yi was out of breath from her tight embrace. He yelled towards her in the back: “You’re the one trying to kill me!”

Three minutes later they rushed to the bus stop. Both of them were panting without an ounce of romantic feeling at all.

Xu Huaishi took off the scarf. As she was about to hand it over to Zhao Yi, there was a silver sports car coming towards them and stopped right in front of them.

It was the Reventon Zhao Yi mentioned earlier.

Xu Huaishi was caught by surprise. The window of the car rolled down and a woman’s face showed up behind the window. She looked somewhat familiar.

Zhao Yi’s hand paused mid air and said in amazement: “Mom, why are you here?”

Xu Huaishi: “......”

Her face hurt a little.

She wondered whether she was going to be mistaken for having puppy love again and her own mother would be called.

Zhao Yi evidently also thought about it and hurriedly explained: “Mom, I’m not……”

“I know.” Mrs. Zhao smiled and looked towards Xu Huaishi: “You’re Huaishi, right? Get in the car, auntie will take you home.”

“......”

Last time when they were in front of the police station, this auntie had a look that said “I’ll give you five million, leave my son alone”. Right now, the way she looked at Xu Huaishi was something different – – “such a clever girl, I want to take her back home to be my daughter-in-law.”

Xu Huaishi looked at Zhao Yi and noticed that he was also confused. She hastily shook her hand: “There’s no need, auntie. My bus will be here shortly.”

Mrs. Zhao smiled: “Which route are you waiting for?”

“Route 19.”

“I just saw the last bus drive away.”

Xu Huaishi said in a low voice: “Uhm.” She looked at Zhao Yi again.

Zhao Yi pointed his chin at the car: “Get in, then.”

Xu Huaishi: “Oh.” She thanked Mrs. Zhao and got in the car. Then she felt there was something not quite right. She pointed at Zhao Yi and asked Mrs. Zhao: “Auntie, if I ride in your car, what about him……”

This car doesn’t have a back seat.

“We don’t drive him to and from school anyway. Riding a bike is a good exercise. He’ll go home by himself.” When she finished talking, she stepped on the accelerator with a smile.

When Xu Huaishi realized what was happening, she threw the scarf out of the window at Zhao Yi.

The scarf flew with the wind created by the fifteen million luxury car and pasted on Zhao Yi’s face.

He almost suffocated. Once he pulled the scarf off his face, he saw a route 19 bus slowly come his way, slowly stopping right in front of him.

You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 70 Side Story 3 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 70 Side Story 3 Part 2

When the homeroom teacher heard about what Zhao Yi blurted out in his sleep, he felt the situation was getting serious. He suspected the pressure of the college entrance exam was getting too much for Zhao Yi’s handle. He called Zhao Yi’s mother to come to school after school on Friday evening.

Most of the students had gone home and only some of the seniors were staying at school to study. Zhao Yi was one of those students.

The homeroom teacher and Mrs. Zhao spoke in the office. Afterwards, they walked to the classroom with a heavy heart. When they reached the classroom, they heard a female voice coming out of the window: “You’ve drawn the wrong auxiliary line, that’s why you can’t solve it. For this problem, the line should be drawn this……”

The teacher and the mother subconsciously slowed down and peeked through the window. They saw a girl dressed in a school uniform sitting on a chair next to Zhao Yi in the back row. She was looking down, drawing an auxiliary line on the test sheet. After she was done, she looked sideways to Zhao Yi: “Like this, understand?”

Zhao Yi: “Hrm, I seem to get it. Let me try it.” As he was talking, he took the pen and started to work on the problem. Three minutes later, he slapped the desk with quite a bit of force.

The girl was startled. She patted her chest and stared at him: “What are you doing?”

Zhao Yi was overjoyed: “I got it, it really is 45 degrees!”

“It’s such a simple problem, what are you so excited about……” She took a glance at him, but when she turned her head away, her lips curved up. When he looked over at her, she changed back to a long face again and impatiently asked: “Any other problems that you don’t know how to solve? Hurry, I have to go home.”

The two adults next to the window gave each other a look and quietly walked away.

When Xu Huaishi finished going over the math test sheet, the sun had already set.

Seeing Xu Huaishi put on her school bag and walk towards the door, Zhao Yi called after her: “How are you going to get home? You're getting a ride?”

“It’s not safe to get a ride. My mom won’t let me. I’ll just take the route 19 bus.”

“Then let me take you to the bus stop. Wait for me.”

“No need to be so melodramatic, don’t I know the way? Geez!” Xu Huaishi walked out of the classroom. When she was at the school gate, she heard wind whining behind her. Then, Zhao Yi, on a bicycle, stopped in front of her.

Zhao Yi was panting: “I said wait for me.”

Xu Huaishi blinked: “When did you add a back seat to your bike?”

“Almost a month now. Your eyes can only see your Shican Gege everyday.”

“......”

Was there any comparison to speak of?

Xu Huaishi raised her chin and deliberately provoked him: “That’s right. Because you’re on the two wheeled bike and he’s driving the four wheeled Carrera.”

Zhao Yi: “Um, Carrera? My family drives Reventon.”

“Stop boasting. If this globally limited luxury car has ever showed up at school once, you’ll be famous all over the school. Now it’s been almost three years, why haven’t I ever heard or seen it?”

“That’s because my family is keeping a low key. If I really came to school in that car, won’t I be surrounded by all the girls everyday? Won’t that influence my studies?”

Xu Huaishi was used to hearing him talking nonsense and didn’t believe him at all: “You think you’re shooting a TV drama?”

Zhao Yi didn’t bother to argue: “Tsk, are you getting on?”

Xu Huaishi turned to go away: “No, it’s too cold. It’s warmer to walk.”

Zhao Yi stopped her, took down the scarf around his neck, then put the scarf on her to cover her neck and face tightly: “Hurry, only five minutes left till the last bus’ here.”

Xu Huaishi looked down at her watch: “Ahh.”

So that’s why he insisted on taking her to the bus stop.

You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 70 Side Story 3 Part 1

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 70 Side Story 3 Part 1

Zhao Yi was caught by surprise. After a short pause he gave a wide grin, flashing his white teeth: “You want to? You need a bodyguard?”

He was still playing dumb.

Xu Huaishi, who had mustered all of her courage to say what she would never normally express, was irritated. She picked up the stack of practice tests on the table and began stuffing them into her bag as she said: “Yes, I need a bodyguard, and you’re numbskull!”

She got up to leave and pushed the milk tea shop door open. She shivered as the chilly air blew right into her face. She was two steps away from the door when her arm was suddenly pulled back by someone from behind. A wide and thick palm wrapped around her wrist. She recognized the feeling of the touch. His hand wasn’t as rough as she liked to say it was. On the contrary, the touch felt warm while she was encompassed by the chilly wind.

Xu Huaishi stopped. Then she heard the man behind her say slowly: “I want to. I want to get into the same college as you.”

His voice was like a feather fan over her ear. It was light, but since it was very close to her ear, it created a huge impact on her sense of hearing.

He wasn’t saying “I like you,” nor “I want to be with you.” What he said was “I want to get into the same college as you.”

It was a short sentence, yet it was the most precious pledge that someone at their age could offer.

Xu Huaishi didn’t turn her head. At that moment, everything she saw in front of her seemed to zoom in closer.

People were coming and going in a hurry on the street. The girl in red dress across the street who was waiting for someone at the newspaper stand. The route 19 bus which was driving down the street towards her and finally stopped at the bus stop not far from her.

In addition, a white flake slowly floated down right in front of her eyes and landed on the tip of her shoe.

She looked down at the floating white snowflake and watched it melt into water instantly. She said something which had nothing to do with what had just happened between them: “It’s snowing.”

“Mhm.” Zhao Yi looked up at the whiteness which was drifting profusely down on their heads: “It’s snowing.”

After the New Year’s break, all the teachers of the senior classes had heard that the boy in room 7 who would neither learn nor study had transformed into a different person.

At first, the news was leaked by the dormitory manager.

One night the manager was patrolling the dorm after lights out and heard voices coming from the balcony of the boys dormitory on the second floor. The manager angrily dashed over and saw Zhao Yi, with dark circles under his eyes, was reciting “peaceful reunification, one country two systems” with a flashlight in hand.

Next day, the manager was so moved by Zhao Yi’s diligence that she went to see the homeroom teacher of room 7.

The homeroom teacher was amazed when he heard the story but upon learning the name of the student, his face immediately darkened: “Don’t be fooled by that brat. He must have hid a random book inside the politics textbook.” Then the teacher called Zhao Yi to the teacher’s office to educate him.

Zhao Yi didn’t bother to explain. He listened to the teacher’s lecture while silently memorizing historic facts. He kept saying “en, en, hum, hum” the entire time the teacher spoke. When it all finished, he left the room and bumped into the history teacher at the door. Suddenly, he blurted out a question: “Teacher, when was the first automobile in the world invented?”

The history teacher was caught by surprise but answered: “1885.”

Zhao Yi made a fist with his right hand and hit his left palm: “Right, it’s ‘ni ba ba wo’[1] when the automobile was invented……”

All the teachers inside the office were looking at each other. The history teacher slowly turned his head to look at the back view of Zhao Yi who was briskly walking away. The teacher pulled his glasses up a little in disbelief.

An episode like this might just be a coincidence. But when more and more of Zhao Yi’s “glorious deeds” were heard in the office, even the homeroom teacher had to believe it.

A few days before finals, the math teacher walked into the classroom five minutes before the class. The teacher heard Zhao Yi, who was dozing off on the desk, yell in his dream: “Bull shit! Ulaanbaatar clearly has a temperate continental climate!”

[1]: He is saying 你爸爸我 (nǐ bàba wǒ) or very literally “You dad me”. It looks like he’s just using it as a mnemonic device to memorize 1885 which sounds very similar if you read out each digit in Chinese (yī bā bā wǔ).

You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 69 Side Story 2 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 69 Side Story 2 Part 3

Ruan Yu continued: “Huaishi, the thing we try to avoid in life is the plague, not our feelings. You’re smart. Since you’ve realized his feelings towards you, it’s better for you to confront it face on than being hesitant and overcautious. You need to think it through then figure out a sensible way, which would be good to both you and him, to handle it.”

Xu Huaishi ruminated on the words Ruan Yu had told her throughout the New Year’s holiday.

On the day they returned to school, she left home early and called Zhao Yi, asking him to meet her at the milk tea place near school.

Since it was on such short notice, Zhao Yi arrived a little late. He came in, took off the scarf, rubbed his hands together and said: “What’s up? You’re planning to sneak into the school archive again?”

Xu Huaishi shook her head and took a look at him: “Did you do your homework over break?”

“Do I look like someone who would do homework? You should tell me beforehand that you need to copy homework, I have to ask others……”

“I’ve done mine.” She said the words one by one and took out a stack of practice tests from her school bag.

“Um, you want me to copy yours? It’s not necessary……”

“Zhao Yi!” Xu Huaishi interrupted him: “Who’s going to let you copy their homework? You never listen during classes, won’t study after class, never do the homework, and guess your way through all the exams. Do you want to get into college?”

Zhao Yi was surprised: “What’s wrong with you? Acting like the class president?”

Xu Huaishi frowned seriously: “Answer me earnestly. There are only a little over five months until the college entrance exam. Do you want to go to college?”

Zhao Yi quieted down: “If I get in one then I’ll go. If not, then forget about it.”

“Then……”

“Then what”

“Then……”

Xu Huaishi couldn’t say it after two tries. She changed the topic and said: “Give me your cell phone.”

Zhao Yi took out his phone and watched Xu Huaishi use her thumb to unlock it.

“......”

He was silent for a moment then got excited: “Shoot, when did you put your fingerprint into my phone without me knowing it?”

Xu Huaishi gritted her teeth and looked at him: “Say that again? Was it that I took your cell phone behind your back or was it you who got my fingerprint without my knowledge?”

Zhao Yi’s Adam’s apple rolled and acknowledged the latter with an “oh.”

“Let’s continue what we left out. You said that if you can get into college then you’ll go, otherwise you’ll forget about it. Then……does it mean that you won’t care whether this thumb print can unlock your phone or not in the future?”

Zhao Yi was taken aback: “What do you mean?”

“What I mean is……” Xu Huaishi took a deep breath: “You don’t want to go to the same college with me?”

You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 69 Side Story 2 Part 2

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 69 Side Story 2 Part 2

Yet, Xu Huaishi was still slow in recognizing it.

Because he would ridicule her for being too short while he was wiping the blackboard clean, laugh at her “serves you right” when handing over the English answers, and say that she looked as pale as a ghost when he accompanied her running, she had overlooked what lies beneath all of his actions. For a long time, she had treated his goodwill as “annoying provocation.”

It wasn’t until about six months ago, when she was photographed with Li Shican by the paparazzi and Zhao Yi got into fights because of rumors about her, that she truly realized it.

But after she realized it, she got scared.

That day when she called Xu Huaisong, she deliberately made light of her classmate being brought into the police station. Later on, she also tried to deceive herself when she mentioned to Ruan Yu that she believed that it was impossible that Zhao Yi was fighting because of her. In reality, she was scared and was only trying to convince herself.

During the fight, if it wasn’t for passersby stopping Zhao Yi in time, Zhao Yi might have killed the other person. Xu Huaishi felt suffocated from the kind of fondness from Zhao Yi. It was like she suddenly had a massive weight pressing down on bare shoulders. She didn’t want to bear it.

After that incident, Xu Huaishi started to avoid Zhao Yi and ignored him for the whole summer until he realized her aloofness . When school started again, he would happily banter with other girls in their class but not talk to her.

When fall passed and winter arrived, Xu Huaishi thought Zhao Yi might have gotten over his feelings towards her. Besides, it felt awkward to be estranged while they were in the same classroom all the time. Xu Huaishi started chatting with him again and they were on friendly terms again.

However, perhaps influenced by the vibe of the New Year firework show, he seemed to have crossed the line again.

Or to be more exact, he had never backed away. It was only possible for him to put her finger print into his cell phone while she was asleep in the classroom. But ever since the weather got colder in October, she had never taken a nap in the classroom.

On the one hand, he was flirting with other girls and on the other hand, he secretly scanned her finger print. He was truly trickier than her own brother.

Xu Huaishi squinted her mouth when she thought about it. Suddenly she heard Ruan Yu ask: “He likes you, but what do you think about it?”

“Look at me, I knew it but pretended not to know it. How would I have any thoughts about it?”

“Hum……knew it but pretended not to know it, that doesn’t mean you don’t have any thoughts about it.”

“Aiya, Sister-in-law.” Xu Huaishi gave her a glance: “How can you encourage a student to develop puppy love?”

“It’s not that.” Ruan Yu laughed out: “Do you know why teachers and parents don’t let you have puppy love?”

“They just worry that we won't study hard.”

“Then why would having puppy love make you not study hard?”

Xu Huaishi didn’t know how to answer and shook her head.

Since that was all the adults kept telling them, she had never thought about exactly why.

“Theoretically, a proper and stable relationship between adults wouldn’t bring any negative effect to their lives. But in reality, a relationship has to go through ups and downs in periods of infatuation and bonding. If they fail to bond, then there’s a period of heart brokenness. Therefore, it usually wasn’t in a stable state. Falling in love isn’t a bad thing in itself but the emotional ups and downs might cause trouble for people. If you don’t know his feelings towards you, then it doesn’t matter. If you know it and also are somewhat stirred up by it, then simply running away from it will only cause you to be emotionally unstable and that will certainly influence your studies.”

Xu Huaishi blinked and replied diffidently: “Oh.”

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 69 Side Story 2 Part 1

With her back against the wall, Xu Huaishi stood there holding the cell phone without moving for a long time until she faintly heard Xu Huaisong’s voice outside the restroom: “I’ll wait for you out here. It’s dark, watch out for the steps.”

Then it was Ruan Yu’s voice: “Got it. I know my way around here.”

Xu Huaishi straightened up and saw Ruan Yu enter with a bag. Xu Huaishi waved at her: “Sister-in-law, sorry to trouble you.”

“Your brother is the truly troublesome one.” Ruan Yu lowered her voice and handed over the sanitary pads: “I told him that I’ll go buy some stuff at the school store and I won’t leave the campus. But he insisted on going with me.”

Xu Huaishi laughed and also replied in a low voice: “Is my classmate still out there?”

“You mean Zhao Yi? He’s chatting with your brother.”

“Um, you see, he's trouble too.”

Ruan Yu paused and sensed something unusual by Xu Huaishi’s tone of voice. She was about to ask but Xu Huaishi gestured at her: “Sister-in-law, let me have your hand.”

Ruan Yu stuck out her hand and Xu Huaishi pinched her thumb, trying to use it to unlock the phone in her hand.

It failed to unlock the phone.

Xu Huaishi used her own thumb to try again and it successfully unlocked it.

Xu Huaishi: “Geez, childish.” She handed over the cell phone to Ruan Yu, then went into the stall.

Ruan Yu held the cell phone and tried to put the pieces together. After a while, she walked to the stall where Xu Huaishi was in: “Huaishi, you……”

“I don’t have any puppy love.”[1] Xu Huaishi blurted out. She opened the door of the stall and emphasized again: “I don’t do puppy love……”

Ruan Yu smiled at her and returned the phone to her: “Then, let’s go.”

Xu Huaishi nodded and followed Ruan Yu to go out, but she stopped before opening the restroom door: “Sister-in-law, I’m not going to be an extra. It doesn’t matter to them whether I’m there or not. You don’t have anything you need to do over there, right? If you’re free, go with me to the school store to have some oden.”

Ruan Yu agreed and went out to persuade Xu Huaisong and Zhao Yi to leave without them. Then she went with Xu Huaishi to the commissary by themselves.

Xu Huaishi was quiet on their way over until they were near the school store: “Sister-in-law, actually I’ve already guessed it long ago.”

Ruan Yu looked over: “Guessed what?”

“That Zhao Yi likes me.” She looked down and blew at her palms, rubbing her hand together: “We see each other everyday. It’s unlike when you and my brother hardly spoke in three years. It’s impossible for me not to see that he likes me.”

Zhao Yi was the kind of person who wouldn’t even touch the broom and usually would turn on the electric fan to blow away the trash. If he didn’t like her, why would he help her clean the blackboard when she was the student on duty and say “what brand is this chalk, doesn’t taste that bad” when he had chalk dust in his mouth.

Zhao Yi usually wouldn’t bother doing any homework, even when others offered to let him copy. If he didn’t like her, why would he beg for answers from others when he learned that she had forgotten to do her English practice tests. He even said: “That girl must have a crush on me. She forced me to have these answers, I couldn’t stop her.”

Zhao Yi was the potential first place high-jumper in the school sports meet. If he didn’t like her, why would he, after finding out that her event of 1500 meter race was in conflict with his high-jump event, give up his own event and come over to accompany her in the run. He even said: “That judge hates me. He’s not asking me to jump high but to jump for my life. I give up, I give up.”

[1]: 早恋 (zǎoliàn) is roughly translated to puppy love, but it’s specifically used for very young love when one is a teen. And it is generally frowned upon because parents expect their children to focus on their studies and not love when they’re teenagers.

You're My Belated Happiness - Chapter 68 Side Story 1 Part 3

Translated by Team DHH at http://dhh-workshop.blogspot.com.

You’re My Belated Happiness
Chapter 68 Side Story 1 Part 3

All the reminiscing made Zhao Yi chuckled. Then he sighed when he remembered that for the last two years his classmates called him “Zhao Tie” because of Xu Huaishi.

The door to the girls’ restroom cracked open.

Xu Huaishi peeked out after hearing Zhao Yi’s laughter and asked: “Hey, you’re still here?”

Zhao Yi stood up: “What’s up? You finally finished dawdling?”

“No, I’m not done yet……” Xu Huaishi lowered her voice and looked around: “Big Zhao, do you have your cell phone with you?”

Zhao Yi was used to her calling him “Big Zhao” instead of “Zhao Tie” whenever she was asking favors from him. He answered from where he stood: “Yes, why?”

“I don’t have my cell phone with me. Can I use your phone to make a phone call?”

“Sure. Come out.”

“Let me have your phone first.”

“Why do you have to make a phone call in the restroom? Just come out.”

“I’m…… Anyway, can I have it or not? If not, help me get my sister-in-law here!”

Zhao Yi was surprised and thought about it for a moment: “What's wrong with you?”

Xu Huaishi lost her patience and stamped her feet: “I just need my sister-in-law here!”

Zhao Yi touched his nose and seemed to know what might have happened. He took his phone out and unlocked it before handing it over to Xu Huaishi. Then he backed away and said: “Then I’ll sit outside the door and wait for you.”

Xu Huaishi didn’t respond but hastily turned back in. She didn’t remember Ruan Yu’s number, so she called Xu Huaishong instead: “Ge, are you still in school? Is sister-in-law with you?”

She had changed her way of addressing Ruan Yu and it probably made Xu Huaisong quite happy to hear it. Her brother was in a good mood: “She is. What’s up?”

“Give your phone to her.”

After Ruan Yu was on the phone, Xu Huaishi lowered her voice to ask: “Sister-in-law, do you have sanitary pads with you? I have my period……”

“Oh, I don’t have it with me. I’ll go buy it and send it over. Where are you?”

“The restroom under the bleachers.”

“Alright. Wait for me.”

Ruan Yu hung up. Xu Huaishi clutched her slightly cramping tummy and waited inside the dimly lit restroom. She had been waiting for quite some time and was getting bored. She used her fingerprint to unlock the phone in her hand.

She then found herself looking at a completely different wallpaper than her own.

She was taken aback.

Hrm, the cramping had confused her. This was Zhao Yi’s cell phone, not hers.

She then clicked the key to lock screen key. The moment she locked it she suddenly froze .

This wasn’t her cell phone, but why could she unlock the phone with her fingerprint?
