Xiang Naun and Shen Zemu had just finished exercising, it was reasonable that they were thirsty and wanted something to drink.

Xiang Nuan bought a Sprite and tried to twist off the cap while walking out of the market. Usually she wouldn’t have any problem with opening a bottle. But today’s bottle seemed unusually hard to open. Her hand was also throbbing from trying to bounce the ball for so long……

She tried for a while, but the cap refused to budge.

Suddenly, a hand reached over and took the bottle away.

Xiang Nuan looked up and saw Shen Zemu twist open the bottle without much difficulty.

“Thanks, Xuezhang.” Xiang Nuan took the bottle back, took a sip, and as she raised her head, she saw the way Shen Zemu was looking at her.

It was a look of undisguised tenderness.

“Cough, cough, cough……” Xiang Nuan was stunned by his look and choked, bending over to cough.

Shen Zemu patted her back. His palm was wide and thick. The warmth from his palm could almost reach the skin on Xiang Nuan’s back through the fabric of her clothes.

Alarmed, Xiang Nuan figured that she shouldn’t let it go on like this. She patted her chest, after she had smoothed out of her breath, she said: “Xuezhang, I’ve already-- --”

Suddenly, a voice interrupted her.

It was a clear voice, stiff in tone but cheesy in content: “Baby.”

Xiang Nuan looked over and saw Lin Chuyan standing there.

He had his hands behind his back and his mouth curved up in a spurious smile.

“Lin, Lin Chuyan……” Xiang Nuan recalled the way she interacted with Shen Zemu just now and felt that there wasn’t anything improper? Yet, why did Lin Chuyan look at her that way? As if he had caught her having an affair……

Lin Chuyan walked over and when he was close enough, he immediately held Xiang Nuan’s hand.

Xiang Nuan said: “Xuezhang, what I was going to say is that I’m going out with Lin Chuyan already.” Though it was a little narcissistic to tell someone about her own love relationship on her own, she felt under the circumstance, it was better to make it clear now rather than later.

Shen Zemu looked at their hands held together. He felt like asking Xiang Nuan some questions, but couldn’t say them now. He watched them quietly for a while, then took his eyes away, and lightly made a sound: “En.”

Then he turned to walk away.

Lin Chuyan looked at his back and said: “Xuezhang, aren’t you planning to give us your blessings?”

“I don’t plan to.”

After Shen Zemu left, Xiang Nuan secretly checked Lin Chuyan’s expression and discovered that he still didn’t look too happy.

“Hey.” Xiang Nuan felt like she had been wronged: “What do you mean by that look of yours? Don't you believe in me?”

“It’s not that. I’m just a little regretful.” Lin Chuyan looked depressed.

“What are you regretting?”

“I shouldn’t have gone to study Physics.”

The department of Physics had all its classes in the main campus for all four years. Lin Chuyan was a sophomore now and that meant he had to continue to keep a long distance relationship with Xiang Nuan for another two and half years. His girlfriend was too pretty, attracting admiring eyes all the time. To him, there was danger everywhere. There were men everywhere that could take his girlfriend away from him.

Xiang Nuan couldn’t quite figure out what Lin Chuyan was thinking. She felt that though they were in different campuses, Lin Chuyan skipped classes all the time and they still saw each other quite often.

Xiang Nuan was a bit uneasy about Lin Chuyan skipping classes: “Lin Chuyan, you skipped class again?”

“There’s only one class this afternoon.”

What he meant was that he only skipped one class this afternoon.

When he said that, he even looked like he was asking Xiang Nuan for praise.

“Don’t skip any more classes.” Xiang Nuan was worried about him.

“Don’t worry, I can learn it on my own.”
