Those Sweet Times
Chapter 53 Part 3
Yang Yin explained: “You haven’t played this kind of game for long and lack map awareness. A support needs a better sense of the whole picture, you aren’t as good as Waiwai at that. But your reaction time is good and have fast hands. Your ability to assess what’s on screen is passable. Besides, you’re brave. I don’t mean to say that you can’t play support well, but under the circumstances, we would be maximizing the strengths of our team if we let Waiwai play support and have you start practicing top. Do you understand now?”
“Understood.” Xiang Nuan nodded even though no one could see it and replied: “What you mean is it’s a waste of my talent to keep playing support. Right?”
Waiwai reminded her in a low voice: “Be humble. It’s a virtue.”
The rearrangement of positions was decided without any objection. Yang Yin then arranged for them to form teams to play ranked matches.
The five teammates plus Yang Yin were divided into two teams, three on each team.
Yang Yin, Xiang Nuan, and Lin Chuyan were in one group. Xiang Nuan picked Laofuzi as her champion, Lin Chuyan chose Diaochan, and Yang Yin randomly chose Taiyi Zhenren. Taiyi Zhenen has an interesting passive-- --Whenever Taiyi Zhenren is nearby, the gold that he and his teammates earned was increased by 35%. Though his position was support, his teammates wouldn’t object to farming together with him.
This was the first time Xiang Nuan had used Laofuzi. She was a little worried: “Why don’t we go play a few normal matches? What if we drag other people’s level down playing ranked matches……”
“Just concentrate on your own champion. Leave winning to me.” Yang Yin replied.
What confidence, Xiang Nuan admired.
Lin Chuyan said: “My Diaochan can also carry the game.”
Xiang Nuan laughed.
……
Laofuzi was a close ranged champion. His weapon was a jiechi[1], that made a “pa pa pa” sound effect when striking the enemy, and his ultimate tied his opponents up.
Xiang Nuan didn’t play well since it was the first time she tried this champion. One of their teammates playing Miyamoto Musashi started to bash her. Xiang Nuan was aware of her own shortfalls and thought about blocking Miyamoto Musashi so she couldn’t see him talk. Then she worried that the other teammate whom she didn’t know might start calling her names too. In the end, she blocked the entire chat. She, Yang Yin, and Lin Chuyan had their mics on anyway. They didn’t need to type to communicate.
Since she had blocked the remaining two teammates, she didn’t know that Miyamoto Musashi later began cursing her parents and all her ancestors.
When Lin Chuyan was stealing the enemy’s blue buff, he saw Miyamoto Musashi fighting two enemy champions nearby. Miyamoto Musashi signaled Daiochan to come and help. Lin Chuyan however took his time finishing blue buff. It wasn’t until Miyamoto Musashi had died that Lin Chuyan went over and easily took down Musashi’s two killers.
Miyamoto Musashi was so angry and asked Lin Chuyan: Is Diaochan blind?
Chu god (Diaochan): Yes.
Miyamoto Musashi didn’t respond, perhaps because he’d never seen anyone this shameless.
Later on, Diaochan ignored Miyamoto Musashi’s pleas for help.
By this time, Diaochan was doing very well in this match, which made Miyamoto Musashi subconsciously ask more politely: Why isn’t Diaochan saving me?
Chu god (Diaochan): Because you’re Japanese.
By this point, there was no way to alleviate Miyamoto Musashi’s hatred towards Diaochan.
Once Miyamoto Musashi found out that cursing had no effect, he started to deliberately die to the enemy to irritate his teammates. Then he went as far as giving out information about his own teammates’ locations to the enemy.
There was a time gap between the delivery of the information and the actual situation. Yang Yin and her teammates used that difference to ambush the enemy, accruing four kills total.
The other side started to suspect it was all a trap and started to blast Miyamoto Musashi on the public channel.
The match finally ended in a messy state. Xiang Nuan, however, didn’t know about anything that had transpired on the public channel. Now she had only one thing on her mind-- --
Laofuzi is such a fun champion to play!
