Chapter 40 Part 1

Xiang Nuan invited Min Lili with the rest of her team to lunch.

Min Lili was feeling much better today but was careful about what she ate. She had a bowl
of udon with clear both in front of her as she watched the others eat fish and shrimp.

“Why did you bring me here!” Min Lili tearily complained to the amusement of everyone else.

Zheng Dongkai found it was quite fun to be around Min Lili.  He and the others nicknamed
her “Angela.” With her big eyeglasses and loli face, she looked very much like the champion
Angela in the Kings of Glory.

Xiang Nuan found that Lin Chuyan hadn’t touched the sashimi or sushi with raw fish. He
would only eat cooked food such as roasted eel, tofu, and beef. She thought at first that
Lin Chuyan was just being courteous by not eating the more expensive items. Then she
had a second thought, when had Lin Chuyan been courteous about this sort of thing?

Xiang Nuan asked him: “Lin Chuyan, you don’t eat raw food?”

“En.”

“But, why?”

Actually, there was no reason. He never had raw food since he was little and now it was
just a habit. “I’ve never had it before.” Lin Chuyan answered.

Xiang Nuan gently moved a plate of sashimi in the front of him: “You really aren’t going to
try some? It’s delicious.”

The luscious sashimi slices were arranged delicately on the plate.  However, Lin Chuyan
showed no interest. He shook his head.

The waiter brought over a plate of fresh shrimp on ice. The shrimp was as long as an
adult’s index finger and half of its shell was already peeled off. The exposed, translucent
meat looked just like jelly.

Xiang Nuan peeled the rest of the shell off one shrimp, held onto it’s tail as she dipped it into
soy sauce, then dangled it in front of Lin Chuyan: “Hey, have a bite? It’s really, really good.”

Lin Chuyan was not swayed.

“Taste it, taste it.”

All of a sudden, Lin Chuyan lowered his head and took a bite off the shrimp in her hand
before Xiang Nuan had realized what had happened.

It was a big bite. His lips reached to the tips of her fingertips, they were soft and warm to
the touch.

Xiang Nuan had never had such close contact with the opposite sex.  She instinctively
pulled her hand back as if she had been shocked.

Only the shrimp’s tail was left in Xiang Nuan’s hand.

She asked him to taste it, but didn’t expect him to grab it……

She took a glance at Lin Chuyan and found him chewing with squinted eyes. It looked
like he was enjoying it.

The raw shrimp tasted better than Lin Chuyan had expected. It was fresh, tender,
delicate, silky, and without any unpleasant smell. Though it wasn’t stunning good,
at least he could accept the taste.

Especially when he saw Xiang Nuan’s expression, it made the shrimp taste even better.
