Introductions

Hello everyone!  We're DHH and we're here to provide quality fan translating Chinese web novels into English.  And maybe Chinese light novels as well.  As of now we intend to translate God's Left Hand (神之左手) by Mao Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝) and then it's sequel the Secret Room.

We took a quick look around and it doesn't seem like anyone has started translating on those so here we are.

I'll be posting the first part of another story Love by Soup, the actual title is Love Sparked by a Bowl of Veggie Soup (一碗咸菜汤引发的恋情) which we thought was a bit too long, by Shui Fu Shen Qing (谁赋深情) first. It was the short story we used for practice and it'll be the first content we put up here.

As of now we hope to publish a chapter of God's Left hand biweekly every Saturday at 11pm EST. The First Chapter comes out this Saturday! Look forward to it.

Just so that everyone knows, Chinese has a few quirks that causes the English translation to be awkward at times. The main issues is tense and the fact that when writing Chinese you can theoretically write an entire paragraph out of 1 sentence. As we continue working, we will obviously improve, and appreciate any feedback and constructive criticism about our work and would love any suggestions for future projects. As we improve it maybe possible that we can pick up multiple translation works at once without our post schedule suffering from it.

One last note: Somesingman, the editor, has had internal turmoil about changing the English translated lines so that it sounded more fluid in English, but may interfere with the original meaning. If you prefer one method or another, do tell us about it in the comments so that he can stop being so indecisive.

Cheers!

  2. hi! thank you for joining translation world! Chinese language is so profound for me, but i really like how they make character and the story so amusing and diverse.
For your question, i would like to voice my opinion. It should be keep as close as possible into the original, it's like writing onee-chan in Japanese translation or just putting sister. The flavour is kinda missing if it's turned fully english.
But it's your privilege as the translator to decide which one you want to use.
So thank you for translating >.<
